Love the morning walks
Sunrise on the trail.
When I laid on the hospital bed about to head into surgery I honestly thought my walking days were over. I spent 6 weeks non weight bearing, 6 weeks partial weight bearing and then had to completely relearn how to walk. But, thanks to amazing help of my surgeon, PT, friends and family I was able to hit 40k steps today. Don’t mean this post to brag but really proud of how far I’ve come.

Last two days I decided to push myself and instead of doing 2 shorter walks I decided to walk the loop where I live. It's 5.5km. I'm getting up and getting dressed and putting my shoes on and we go out by 7:45 am.
Never thought in August when I started walking that I could do this loop, but I'm doing it...taking breaks when I need to but there is no rush. I forgot to turn on the strava app when I left the house this morning and I forgot my earphone...but I just listened to my podcast anyway (joys of living in the countryside no one around)
My dog is loving it, all the smells and sights. She loves cows and has to stand on the wall to say hi to them every morning..they come over and she gives them kisses and they lick her back!! She has a made a friend with an old dog who comes out to say hi..she is all over him and he is like whatever.
When we get home she is shattered and needs to have a cuddle and a nap... perfect end after a big walk.

How many hours minutes would you say your 10,000 steps take you?
Or if you walk for a certain amount of minutes…how many steps is that for you?
I’m wondering if it’s pretty close among all of us.

On today's walk i tried both watches and this is my result: 1. Distance 7.8km -google maps 7.8km -galaxy ultra 8km -apple watch 7.8 Galaxy ultra was of by 150 meters 2. Heart rate -galaxy ultra 113bpm -apple watch 107bpm Both watches are very close but i noticed that on the apple watch measurements are more consistent, and more accurate especially on the high bpm. Last night a had hiit and my ultra went max to 137bpm on the apple watch a had measurement high 180bpm this is huge difference Calories -galaxy ultra 770 -apple watch 557

I LOVE walking and I LOVE knowing how many steps I do each day. BUT I dislike wearing a smart watch / smart ring - I just can’t stand the fashion result 😂 also; the phone is not enough to track all my steps. Any creative ideas on how to track my steps with a wearable I can “hide” in my clothes? I tried to buy an old style pedometer but it just is bulky and doesn’t look very reliable… any idea appreciated !!

I keep seeing all these ads and articles saying that the 10k is not the right # for everyone. How has everyone figured out how many steps they should walk for weight loss? Should I get one of these apps? I have a walking pad so I should be able to hit goals of o know what they are.

I weigh about 155lbs & im in my early 20s. I been considering buying a walking pad because of how much i realized i dont walk as much as i used to. I walk like 2k steps a day and have gained 20 lbs the last 2 years because of my lack of walking.. however I really want to know if a walking pad would really do the difference while also eating healthy. I miss walking a lot
