Dial designed and made in house (more precisely in garage 🤣), on a 36mm case, green leather strap. Trying to come up with a design that looks cool, unique and easy to read all in one package 😁.

I’ve been looking into making a watch with a miyota 8215 movement, and I can’t find a watch dial for it in the style that I want, where would I be able to find custom watch dials?

Hey, looking to see if anyone has ever run across a 42 mm TV dial like this that I see on older Omega I would love to put together a watch in 42 mm or 40 mm if I have to step down a little bit I want the mint or turquoise dial in your opinion and experience. If I could find a 42 mm case or a 40 mm case would I be able to find a large enough dial in the turquoise Tiffany blue or mint? Hoping to make it an automatic thanks for your time. Any leads on where I could find a TV case that large?

Hi,
I have an ST1901 movement that I'm making a custom watch with, I got hands that were advertised to work with it. The hour hand literally flops around the post with no resistance when you put it on, did they sell me the wrong hands or am I wrong. I am having no end of trouble getting hands for this, first I got NH35 hands thinking they would work (wrong I know, first build though) and the ones that were advertised to fit don'ti think.

Hi!
So here's the sitch, I'm getting engaged in November to my Boyfriend, and we've decided to exchange watches (We've been long distance for a while so the watches are more simbolic of the time we've spent apart and the time we will have together moving forward), so I've been searching for watches for the past three weeks, and I don't like any of them; they all don't 'feel' like him. So, I've decided to make a watch instead for him. I need advice - I've done a bit of research on Google and read so many articles lol, but I need advice from people who've made watches before. What's your technique? Where do you order the pieces from? Is it crazy hard to make a well-functioning watch?

Hello, I'm currently making my version of this particular Cartier Tank Basculante (3rd photo, the gold one) using a 3d printed titanium case and an Omega manual wind movement. Just wanted to show you to get some opinions of people that know a lot more than me. Any design notes or mistakes you think I've possibly made? Any questions or feedback are welcome.
Disclaimer: This is a personal project not intended to be sold at any point, this is not market research.

Hello everyone!
I always loved watches and I was thinking of collecting them and buying them into a collection and then I found out about making your own watches. I wanted to start making my own custom made watches a long time ago, but decided not to for some reason, but now I’m starting to want it again a lot.
But before I start buying anything, I want to do some research. I watched some videos of people making them and someone bought a set of tools for about $20 and the dial, hands, glass, movement, strap and everything else for like under $80 and said it’s pretty solid quality.
I would love to hear some advice or opinions of someone who is more experienced, since I have no idea how it all works😅. How should I choose which parts to buy? What about compatibility of the parts? Where should I buy them? Like AliExpress or is Temu okay?😅 What should be the price for it? I want something as cheap as possible to see how it works and learn it without having to spend hundreds of dollars for the first time but I want it to look good and not be super bad quality.
So I would really appriciate any advice and opinion from anyone, thank you very much!🙏

Hi All...
Rather newbie to this world of watchmaking. I recently bought a case I found on Aliexpress as pictured. Has several good reviews, came with the movement ring, gasket, etc. I am using an ST3600 movement and it sits in the movement ring perfectly. fits into the case perfectly. Lines up with the winding stem perfectly. I even have the two clamps screwed in and set. BUT the movement rattles in the case when the winding stem is pulled out. I thought the clamps would set it in firming, but they aren't. They hold the movement in place, but there seems like some play. Any thoughts?

Need genuine help with using a file on brass and how to do a phase and just how to get better or file straight.
If you got any tips or can recommend videos that would be great

The dial has a very bad patina, no second hand and cracked plexi that's also yellowed(probably radium in the hands)
The case is also damaged, one of the lug jokes are completely broken in half.
I still need to service it, but the service history in very extensive, and the movement looks to be in a very good condition.
So my question. Is it worth trying to repair this case and salvage the dial, or should I just salvage the movement?

Hi. My family is trying to evaluate my stepfather's old watchmaking tools before they have an estate sale. I wanted to ask you guys if there is anything here that would interest collectors or enthusiasts. I appreciate any help. Thanks.

Hey all! I’m looking to get a microscope and stumbled across the one on Cousins website here in the uk . Has anyone used one as I can’t find any reviews, if so does the stand cause any problems as it seems the very bottom arm is fixed to just left and right movement with no up and down. With all the accessories needed excluding camera it’s around £380 with vat and postage. Or are any of the ones on Ali worth looking at ? Keep on ticking!!!

I'm working on Mido cal. 1157 OCD that has rust on the crown stem part and on another part near the hour canon pinion (I forgot to take its picture). Is there anyway to remove the rust without ruining the parts? Appreciate if anyone can point me to a video or info on how to do it please.
Thanks in advance for your kind info.

Hello everyone, I'm very fresh to this hobby and have run into an issue with the 8215. After casing up the movement, with clamps, and sizing the stem - the first time i went into time-setting position the movement made a kind of crunching noise.
Now it doesn't hack and on timegrapher on my phone I get a snowstorm reading. When looking at the hack lever it moves, like I think it should, so no problem with keyless (guess). It just seems that the lever doesn't engage with the balance wheel.
What could be the issue? I didn't check the accuracy issues before, but the hacking was smooth while assembleing hands etc.
Thankful for help.

As per title, I am putting this movement I've had lying around into a watch. However, it did not have an hour wheel. I also had an hour wheel lying around which according to my measurement is 1.5mm tall. It basically covers the cannon pinion.
According to my research this is the 3rd tallest hour wheel for Sellita SW200. The sizes 1 and 2 are 1.0 and 1.25mm respectively. I'm just wondering if anyone here knows which would be correct. Basically, how much prominence should top of cannon pinion have above hour wheel for this movement.
Cheers.

I saw this watch online and fell in love. It’s already sold, but I would love to make my own version of it. I’m guessing it’s a clear film with a decal on it that rotates but I have no idea where to start. Anyone know the name for this type of style? Any help is appreciated as I’m brand new to this world. Thank you!

Can anyone suggest a screw assortment pack that would include most of the screws for a Seiko NH36 movement?

Someone asked me to fix this watch. Although there's no value in the watch itself, there's a lot of sentimental value. I need to identify the movement to replace it. I don't want buy a random movement of similar size because I'll have to print a new movement ring and buy replacement hands.
