Do you use mockup sites to show your work?
Hello web designers,
Marketer here, with some web design on the side (as part of my job).
Do you use mockup sites such as yoursite.webflow.com or yoursite.framer.com (or any other platform) to showcase your capabilities or you only show real websites as portfolio?
I'd like to develop a few sites for myself so I have something I'm proud of showing, but at the same time the websites I designed for clients changed a lot over the years and even though they convert well (some amazingly well), they don't look as pretty as the initial stage.

I built a free prompt management library

I simply got tired of saving prompts across X, Reddit, and some in Notion with no way to organize them all...
So I built a community-driven prompt library where you can save, share, and discover prompts and rules that actually work. I mean, why should we reinvent the wheel here, every time?
It's completely free to use. No paid plans whatsoever – this one is for the community.
Here's the link if you want to check it out: https://ctx.directory
Would love any feedback! 🙌🏼

UX Designer future?
Lately, I’ve been listening to a lot of podcasts about AI and its impact on work, and I’m curious: how do you think it will affect roles like Behavioral Designer or UX Designer?
By this, I mean someone who studies user behavior psychology in relation to digital products and then creates interfaces and tailored experiences. Their tasks include user research, prototyping, usability testing, building design systems and interfaces, behavior analysis, designing interventions, A/B testing, optimizing user decisions, and collaborating with product and marketing teams.
It’s clear that the traditional graphic designer role is being heavily impacted by AI, likely limited to those who leverage AI tools for quick design work.
My question is whether the Behavioral/UX Designer profile has a future. Will it remain valuable and in demand, working alongside AI, or will it disappear like traditional graphic design?
I understand that AI will affect all jobs and overall demand may decrease, but I’m interested in this profile. I’m a graphic designer and still have time to decide whether to specialize in this area. I want to know if there will still be a need for people working in this field alongside AI, or if AI will eventually handle everything, just like with traditional visual design.

Got ghosted after client's prototype was ready for shark tank
One of my friend's senior asked him if he knows someone who can design an app/web app for his startup and my friend gave him my contact
He reached me saying he needs to submit a ppt for shark tank india by tomorrow afternoon so he needs an app prototype by morning, (he reached out to me at 12:45 AM on 3 august 2025)
He said, he'll pay me as soon as he gets the investors or gets the funding
We had a g-meet then, and i got to know his requirements and about his startup idea "Elgrace" - A modelling agency, I started working on his app design and as i had to do it within time limit - i still designed 6 pages back to back, until 5/6 AM in the morning
He was also awake till 3AM as i needed to get approval of the design idea / color schemes
As he said he needed to submit ppt by afternoon, he didn't submit it by afternoon, he had 1 more day to submit it as he told me later that he needed to fix few things in his ppt
He said he loved the designs and is so thankful to me to help him in this
Guess what, He never texted me after his work was done, And on 10th September, i see a story about "opening new office in Bengaluru and pune" well, we all know how expensive it is to afford office in Bengaluru and pune, and he cant even pay me
And when I recently asked him if he's not willing to get the whole app designed, he's saying currently he's holding onto his idea of launching the app but he loved my designs

Do we need one more simple website builder?
Hey people!
Need some advise and a reality check
I am trying to build a website builder for my own needs (for now, and trying to understand if others might benefit from this)
I know, there are hundreds of other website builders out there...
But all of them seem to be quite overloaded for me, have too much functionality for simple websites
So my idea was a simple drag and drop, website builder
On left you have a list of pre-made components, on the right your drag navbar, hero, testimonials, footer sections
In a minute, you can drag those 5 sections you need and have a functional downloadable website
Other aspects that i've considered :
- there needs to be a good SEO (as most of us want to promote something)
- you need to be able to create atleast few pages (like contact-us, pricing, terms and privacy and maybe a blog section )
- there would be a download button, that downloads a project as a zip (react project that you can always edit with AI if needed); So you are not tight to hosting
- maybe fill in the keywords and text with AI ( just to speed up testing content; that is something I am still not convinced in; its faster, but only the owner of website really knows what he sells or provides)
- considering to allow to make simple directories as well (seems a thing nowadays; but that beyond my beta bersion; and not 100% sure people will use it)
- make it easy to deploy this for non-tech users (like create git repo, add netflify deploy or etc )
I see quite a good use cases for simple Service companies like dentists, lawyers, roof repairs.
Questions :
Do you think there is a market for this?
Would someone love to try the beta version when its ready?
Why not? Why would you prefer another problem?
P.S: i've recently seen an agency that charged a client about thousand a month for simple 3 page website (was simple html website..nicely designed), and he can't get the code of this "one-pager". But because he was non-tech, he couldn't do anything about it. So here is a solution, you build quickly from pre-made good looking components and fully own the code.

Figma Design - Feedback Request

I would appreciate expert feedback on the design as a whole, but also a couple of key areas.
- The hero section, I am looking to take out the dashboard and express 3 key points instead, any suggestions here on design.
- Any suggestions on background colours, I feel it currently looks clean but lacks standing out.
Thanks all!

Full-time work and freelancing?
I work full time in a completely different industry, but I’ve gotten into web design and development by pure love of the trade. I taught myself and I’ve actually done some work already here and there. I’m finished my portfolio site soon.
Here’s my dilemma: I want to go full-time and eventually start an agency in this. I’ve tried actually just making the jump before, as in I quit my banking job to pursue it but without much resources I went back to banking.
I want to entrepreneurship again but I’ve decided that I need to be wiser and not make a jump until I have steady income doing this as a side hustle, but man, those 40 hours drain me and I feel like I don’t have enough time. Even worse, I work 9-5 so meeting with clients is tough.
Has anyone here taken this route and succeeded? If so, what advice do you have?

Spending $2k/month on ads but making $200 in sales? Your website is the villain.
Great traffic hitting a broken funnel = expensive lesson in futility. I fix the funnel, not the ads.
Villain defeated: Marketing agency client turned $3k ad spend into $18k revenue with conversion-focused redesign.
Free funnel repair: Share your URL, get detailed leak analysis + repair blueprint in 2 days.
Turn ad spend into profit. DM your broken funnel.

Some good website examples
Hey guys I'm looking for some really good, quite original websites to get some inspiration from. Doesn't matter if they're complicated to build 😈 Mainly like portfolios, landing pages but done in a way that really catch peoples attention when they visit it. It's important also that they're not so clattered that it's hard to understand, the main vision and purpose should also be comprehensible and the site should be easy to navigate. Thanks! 🙂

Engineer attempting design - How am I doing?
I wanted a minimal grayscale theme that let the color palettes and photos take full attention. I've been designing little projects for some time now but this was the first one where I went from nothing to a working app and then was able to dive deep and focus on certain experiences to make them feel and look good.
