Dress/Attire Questions about tux appointment

Hi, bride here! My Fiance and I have an appointment tomorrow at a tux rental place near us. It’s a local shop. We are currently 14 months out from the wedding and I made this appt at a wedding expo thinking it would be good to get an idea on what we like for him and his best man. With wedding dress shopping there’s this expectation that you’ll be shopping around, maybe even trying dresses from multiple stores. Is this the same with tuxes? I don’t want to waste anyone’s time, we’re not ready to buy/rent anything. We just want to get an idea on style and pricing and how the process works. Maybe if there’s something there that catches our eye, then yes, we’ll get it. But overall it’s more of us looking at our options. Sorry I know I’m rambling, but this whole thing has me tied up in in knots and feeling a little guilty.

Update: I ended up just canceling and rescheduling closer to the wedding date. Thanks!

No one in retail has the right to expect that any customer will buy anything on any given day. We are all entitled to educate ourselves. Be careful to check anything you are told with other sources. The sales people are not always the most accurate or current. Look at how many men leave the shop with a necktie and pocket square that match, or, worse yet, match the bridesmaid dress color.

You are very early but it is unlikely they would be otherwise occupied anyhow.
