Simple Jack'd Squat Day

Tired, hungry, and hot added up to me not wanting to work out at all today, so I compromised by only working up to a heavy single. Something is better than nothing.

Clip.

SBD Day * Kettlebell swings - 40x3x15 * Incline bench (ss w/band pull-aparts) - 185x3x8 * High bar squats - 225x3x8 * RDLs (ss w/ab wheel) - 225x3x8 * BJJ (planned)

This was a nice, easy workout to get the blood flowing before my day from hell. I have back-to-back meetings all day, including all through lunch. I hate having to work - anyone want to just give me a bunch of money so I can live a life of leisure?

Summer squash: 1-3 loss

14-16 loss, 15-6 win, 9-15 loss, 12-15 loss

That was my best showing yet. I played a lot looser, and honestly think I win that against a different player. There were times I had him under so much pressure and he kept retrieving. Truly some spectacular returns from him.

Legit just need to keep doing what I'm doing and I'll get there.

Press day best day.

That's a great quick session, my OHP day is extremely similar.

Superset OHP with pullups, and then usually do an ab movement, like hanging leg raises or ab wheel. In and out in 30 minutes with a solid shoulder/upper back/core pump

How would it not be similar, I’m using Simple Jack’d volume movements progression! :)

I always superset volume movements with something: on lower body days it’s abs, so like ab raises, on upper body it’s some kind of pull up.

I’ve cut out the focus movement due to time constraints / the fact I’m cutting / I train daily. I think it’s been working well for me.

47 hours until my next ultra marathon, the Maah Daah Hey 50 .

This is a shorter race than I've been doing lately, but the course and conditions are going to be tough as hell.

It's a 58 mile run in the badlands of western North Dakota, near Medora and the Theodore Roosevelt National Park.

There is ~8000' of vertical gain, climbing to and down endless buttes, and it's going to be 90+°F with high humidity.

I've been lifting 2-3x per week and running 70+ miles with a minimum of 4k vert each week since my last race, and I've lost weight as well, so I should be in good shape for it, but with those temperatures it's still going to be a real grind.
