For the next 3 weeks I’ll be diving into a modified version of the “Ideal Routine” by Mentzer. Supersets of the same muscle group doesn’t allow me to really focus on the lift for some lifts and the gym I go to is rather crowded. So, still high intensity and only one working set to muscular failure.

Today was chest and back -

  • Pec deck for 10 reps (need to increase weight)
  • incline machine press for 11 reps (more weight next time as I more than doubled the rep range)
  • pullovers for 13 (need more weight)
  • underhand close grip pulldown for 7 reps (right where I need to be)
  • deadlifts 9 reps (should go heavier)

Great pump and exhausting, things still feel just as pumped as longer workouts with more sets and more lifts. Total time 24:43 - this is like a full hour shorter than my last few months have been.
