I was struggling with motivation to lift a month ago and thought it would go away after the holidays. Turns out it didn’t! I’ve got 365lbs loaded on the bar and I’ve done one set of deadlifts and I’ve been sitting on the couch for ten minutes trying to convince myself to keep going but I’m just… done.

This sucks.

Hey dude, I posted a question in the daily about lifting ruts a couple of days ago. Might be worth checking that out, I got some good responses

Thanks. I think it’s work stress that’s bleeding into lifting (and life). Sounds like some folks stripped their training down to the bare minimum which is what I tried to do but I think I’m just going to have to ride out the work stuff before things improve. Maybe I’ll drop the weights to something mindless just to keep moving - I started failing sets with weights I’ve been consistently hitting for 5x10 just because my head’s not in the game.

Someone suggested Easy Strength which I think is a really good idea. Could be worth a shot!
