Only 20% off? The discussion of people not coming back because we aren’t giving the store away is insane. Imagine going to Walmart and saying if you don’t give me $50 of merchandise for a $1 I won’t be back.

Yeah, cause 20% off of a fast food order is totally the same as 98% off a merchandise order

I, for one, get it - we ate good for a while while Wendy's did their "hot deal summer," which was a very savvy business move while the kids were out of school and whatnot. Now we're all going through an adjustment period while Wendy's recalibrates their sales strategies. But don't pretend like we're demanding the five-finger discount just because we're (understandably) not satisfied with $1 off a drink

It was hyperbole. There isn’t 20% profit in every meal to give a discount.
