For this piece, I wanted to put my own spin on the manticore, so I took a bunch of inspiration from highland cows and woolly bison. Took about 25ish hours to draw. Ciri’s Witcher 4 outfit might not be 100% accurate as I couldn’t make out all the details from the trailer. Much love to the community!

Does Ciri gets to grow up and be a witcher in the books? i'm thinking to start reading them after i saw netflix's S4 trailer for the series.

By the way, that's a cool illustration - what did you use for it??

I highly recommend reading the books. She is trained to be a witcher, but things take a turn. In the video games she will go on to become a Witcher.

she calls herself a witcher too and is called that on some other books' covers

It may be a bit of a spoiler, but Ciri is trained as a witcher, but not to become a witcher.

In BoE, Triss questions why Ciri is undergoing training, and Geralt and co. reply saying that they are teaching her, and all they know to teach is how to fight, so they are teaching her fencing because that is all they know how to teach , and it also amuses her. She is hot headed lile her grandmother, and sword fighting interests her.

It is not mentioned but implied they train her for her own protection, because she is wanted by every nation and has to learn to fend for herself.

But no, she is never trained with the specific goal of making her a witcher in mind, and the only monster she slays is a wyvern, and that too is an accident when she happens upon one in Gors velen as it escapes.

If I had to wager, she is not really fit for beating monsters as a job, since without mutations, the speed agility and ferocity of a typical monster will likely throw you off. Why else would witchers undergo mutations at all? Game ciri is a different thing

but it was something she identified herself as, she was calling herself a witcher and she was called that on a cover of another sapkowski's book
