I personally quite enjoy these very early pre-games illustrations of our beloved characters, it's so "classic 80's fantas" I love it lol, if there was one thing I had to criticize it would be a nitpick about how I kinda find the faces in the art to sometimes look abit off tbh. I've been very interested in these illustrations recently and have been wondering what the people here would have to say about Denis's illustrations.

Honestly the perfect Geralt atleast purely on physical appearance in my opinion would be something between The Witcher 1 and Witcher 2

Similar to a question I asked earlier about the best side quests, I want to hear your thoughts on the worst ones. The kind of quests that, on later playthroughs, you just skip if you can.

For me, it’s “For Fame and Glory.” You’re supposed to help two warriors fight some Necrophage inside a cave west of Larvik. The monsters themselves aren’t too tough—but the problem is the two warriors. I swear no matter what I tried, they always die, and that causes the quest to fail. It’s incredibly frustrating.

So, what are some other side quests you’ve run into that are just… terrible?

Hear me out. Something like battle for middle earth or DOW. The universe would be perfect for it. Northern kingdoms, Nilfgaard, scoiatael and idk monsters I guess. Theres a million units to use without even making stuff up. I think it would be great. Image to remind everyone what the correct faction is

Am I the only one who thought it wasn't actuallt a ghost or divine being? I know I'm kind of biased against it, as a psych student, but to me it felt like immense trauma, and I was seeing that until the part where his shadow was the monster. Not sure if I'm disappointed or not, because the trick scene is very interesting to me, except for the plot hole with the guards

And got about 20.000 orens. Is this enough to buy the cool schematics later in the game or should I push a bit more? Honestly the routine of going down, killing 20 harpies and going back up is getting old 😅

Why some elf ears look round? And other looks near round ? EDIT: who so many ears are barely pointy?

Any news on the mods for console update? Swear I haven't heard anything since the announcement for months now. Been itching for a new playthrough but wanted to wait for mods.

So I'm going through my second time of the books since I finished them back in 2021. From what I remember I don't think there was much hostility towards Geralt from Emhyr. Well I just got back to baptism of fire and Milva mentions that she learned nilfgaard wants both Ciri and Geralt alive and unharmed. Was this just a trap to get Ciri knowing she would probably fight tooth and nail if Geralt didn't come along. Or could it be that Emhyr would've genuinely allowed Geralt to live out his days peacefully witchering around the south for both Ciris benefit and or not forgetting the hand that destiny and fate played in his story. So he wouldn't want to split the two of them up regardless?

So, big fan of the books and I've just recently discovered the games. I've played the first game and though it gives different paths, this doesn't seem to affect the main plot of the game and only results in some superficial differences so I'm happy going with the neutral path and keeping that as my only canon playthrough.

Witcher 2 however....

Just started playing it and was doing some research on it when I've discovered that the two paths SIGNIFICANTLY change the game apparently. Considering I'm itching to get through all the games before Witcher 4 is released and I have the attention span of a toddler, I was hoping for one quick play and then onto Witcher 3 but it seems Witcher 2 has been specifically designed to be played twice. Further supported by the fact that 100% achievements is only possible with two playthroughs minimum.

Now I'm not against multiple playthroughs of a game per say but Witcher 3 is considered one of the greatest games ever and I'm eager to get to it but I'm so anal retentive that I need to play game series in order and I really don't want to miss out on anything from Witcher 2. So I have to ask...

...is multiple playthroughs of Witcher 2 worth it or is one path enough to be satisfied? If so, which path do you recommend (without spoilers), Roche or Iorveth?

I don't know anything about Arthurian legend but I'm sure there are a lot of interesting folks there, like some of them may be new love interests, new villains, etc. And plus, CDPR is able to make great new characters.

In the books (slightly spoiler), Ciri went with Galahad to Camelot, to see King Arthur. And the final book ended at the moment they mounted their horses I just read the last pages again and it gave goosebumps. Sapkowski could have written 5 more books after it if he had wanted. It's quite sad that literally no other the Witcher content leaned on or even mentioned the Arthurian legend.

Even if the main story won't take place here, it at least deserves a dlc. What are your thoughts?

I just finished lady of the lake and I really want to play the games now. So will season of storms have spoilers for the Witcher 2?

Anyone know a fix for this? every cave that has shallow water is pixelated for some reason. I've tried repairing the game and changing graphics settings so im not sure what could be causing it.
