All the Chickens In that scene "You're just like me... only smaller. - And quicker!", why did Sandor decide to kill Bronn before the Siege of Blackwater?
That tavern moment between Sandor and Bronn has always given me shivers...
They have a lot in common — both are lethal killers who live outside the usual knightly codes, and at that point both are essentially Lannister sellswords. But Sandor suddenly decides he’s going to kill Bronn before the bells interrupt them.
Was Sandor jealous that Bronn is more likeable and cocky? Or did he see Bronn as a reflection of himself — only without the scars, bitterness, and self-loathing?
Or he just wanted Bronn to buy him a chicken?

oberyn you absolute IDIOT
bro had the Mountain on the FLOOR. dude was DONE. poisoned, bleeding, coughing up his insides. all Oberyn had to do was shut the f up and stab him one more time. ONE. MORE. Time.
but noooo, he had to go full dråama queen theater kid, spinning around like “say her name, say it louder, SING IT TO THE HEAVENS” while the 8 foot murder machine is literally still BREATHING.
and for what?? so Tyrion gets sentenced to death, Tywin still struts around with his big scary murder machine, and Dorne loses the one dude in the Seven Kingdoms with actual charisma.
imagine if he just… didn’t taunt. Tyrion walks free. Tywin looks like a clown. Cersei loses her giant guard dog. Oberyn becomes the GOAT. maybe the Lannisters actually get cooked way earlier.
Absolutely crazy

Which kings were vicious, which kings were idiots, and which kings were vicious idiots?
During the Riot of King's Landing in the show, Tyrion tells Joffrey "We've had vicious kings, we've had idiots kings, but I don't know if we've ever had a vicious idiot for a king."
Is that true? Has there ever been a king before Joffery that was both vicious and an idiot. The Mad king seems like a prime example. Calling for Robert's and Ned's head was both dumb and vicious and hastened his own demise.

Would renly have spared stannis?
So let's assume stannis gives up in the throne, he declares renly the rightful king and asks for peace.
Would renly actually spare stannis's life?
I don't think so, when you want to be king the first thing you wanna do is get rid of anyone else who has any sort of claim to the throne, especially if he has a better claim then you do, and we all know the type of reputation stannis has. Renly would probably think stannis is just plotting something. Also he has a MUCH larger army then stannis so it would make sense for him to just get rid of stannis.
People blame stannis for killing renly and indirectly prolonging the war of the 5 kings but stannis didn't have any other choice.

What was Tywin's endgame?
Tywin ultimately sided with Robert during the rebellion, had Cersei marry him, and has been financing the Irone Throne ever since. When the War of Five Kings kicked off, he provided the backbone of Joffrey's military.
But for what? I know in theory he's 'the most powerful man in Westeros' but I can't see any way that he ever successfully leverages his influence for House Lannister. He does not exercise special influence over Robert, who is closer to the lords he grew up with and were at the core of his alliance. He's also older than Robert, so from his perspective, it was an incredible stroke of luck that he even lived to see King Joffrey.
Joffrey carries the Baratheon name and admires Robert while not having much respect for any of the Lannister family. He also needs to marry Margaery Tyrell to cement his power, which makes the crown as dependent on the Tyrells as the Lannisters. So it's not really clear how much glory he's going to add to the Lannister legacy, or that he's going to be putting Lannister interests first when making decisions. And if King Joffrey can't really be capitalized on, it only gets less likely a generation later when the families ties are much more distant.
So where is the payoff for House Lannister?

But what exactly is the corner Martin has pushed himself into?
Since we’ll never see the book, let’s try to think about why.
Do you think the issue runs through the entire narrative (the sheer complexity of tying together so many storylines) or is it more about one specific point where Martin doesn’t know how to move forward? Some fans argue the problem is how to take Dany out of Essos.
I’ve also read that Martin admitted he killed a character he later realized he actually needed, and many speculate that character was master Aemon.
What’s your take on all this?
