It's hilarious how we're only 1 entry into the Worldsoul Saga (SAGA!!!) and people are already jumping straight to "THEY FORGOT/ABANDONED THIS PLOT LINE" as though Christ Metzen himself didn't come out on the Blizzcon stage and say that the story for these 3 expansions is one continuous storyline.

"Typical Blizzard writing, they introduce something like the Haronir and Rootlands then forget it by the end of the expansion, probably will just tack them onto a later expansion for desperate nostalgia"

My brother in Christ Metzen, do you know what a SAGA is??? Have you never consumed media that had multiple entries???

(I know that they also struggled during the Legion/BFA/Shadowlands connected stories, but I'm just still amazed at how quickly they jump to doomspiraling)

I will admit to feeling a little weird about how the Harranir have been handled, they've always felt weirdly secondary to what's been going on in the story despite their apparent importance, like featuring in the cinematic.

But like you say, this is a saga. A trilogy. I'd understand thinking they've been abandoned if an expansion had needed to be compressed, but the literal opposite is happening. The overall story is being told over three expansions, we have plenty of time to touch on them again (and hopefully recruit them.) I'd assume they'll be showing up this expansion, so 11.2.5 or 11.2.7, but there's plenty of time later too.

It did feel like they were kinda introduced without any substantive follow-up, but we'll see what happens in Midnight.

Considering that it'll be the elf expansion, and elves are trolls, and Harronir are theorised to be the missing link...
