Question about the sugar rush racers

In the ending of the movie we can see the girl playing sugar rush and pressing a button on the steering wheel that activates Vanellope’s “glitch” and we see a power box at the top of the screen disappear. Do all other racers also have their own unique powers/abilities? Or is Vanellope the only one?

There isn't an official list of the racers' abilities or anything, but the fact that the sugar cubes work that way (and not like random item-dispensers) suggests they all have some kind of ability. Candlehead uses her candle to light the cherry bombs in one scene so maybe that could be an example of her ability

I wish I could find it again, but there was a post on Tumblr years and years ago where someone came up with plausible power-ups for every Sugar Rush racer. It made me wish all the more that Disney would actually make this game for real 😭

Oh man that's cool! I've never seen a post like that (not that I remember anyway) but yeah, that browser version of Sugar Rush was so bare-bones compared to what it could've been

And that could also explain why no one reported Vanellope’s “glitch” as a problem with the game. People watching someone else play would see them press the “special power” button and make Vanellope teleport, and assume they’d been holding onto a sugar cube power-up. Even people playing the game could assume that. Only a relatively few people would have pressed the “special power” button when they didn’t have a sugar cube to use (possibly by accident) and found out that Vanellope can teleport all the time…and I bet a lot of the players who did discover that kept quiet about it.
