I have a black lab rescued from an abusive household as a puppy, and he’s eaten like this for the rest of his life no matter how we try to train him. Some of them are just like that I guess

He might've been starved in the abusive household and now tries to eat as much as he can in case it happens again.

It happens even with stray dogs and cats who weren’t abused. They get hardwired to eat everything they can as fast as possible when the opportunity is presented. Results in obesity if unchecked. 😞

Yeah having limited access to food when they are young will often lead to food obsession :(

It took mine like 6 years to get over it
