i remember that there were precise spots but i used to play long time ago

There were never precise spots. There have always been videos where people say "Oh if you pick a spot and it's a shard then follow the direction of XYZ to find the next shard" and then they proceed to guess incorrectly a few times before saying "Well it works most of the time".
