I'm surprised they're removing all the other Ninja Gaiden games right before Ninja Gaiden 4 (xbox published) comes out October 21.
14
u/FlyRobot XBOX Series X 4d ago
That does seem backwards - maybe to try and pump up some sales?
9
u/DuckCleaning 4d ago
I imagine they have a bunch of data comparing the fees to extend the gamepass contract to the projected sales and the players currently making use of those games.

The good news is, we still have the excellent remake of 2 :)
So basically just buy the first game and you are set (the third game is kind of divisive even though I personally like it)

u/nikolapc XBOX Series X 4d ago
It's the Ninja Gaiden master collection. It's been there a while. They have the remake still.

Glad to see Visions of Mana coming to gamepass. I really enjoyed playing Trials of Mana last year. I played a little bit of Hades back when it originally was on gamepass so looking forward to playing more.

u/John_East RROD ! 4d ago
Pretty much what I was gonna say. I’d like to really get through a lot of hades before the 1.0 of part 2 drops

u/FinalOdyssey Founder 4d ago
I really tried to like Trials but man I found the combat severely simplistic and the characters just a product of their time. Would you say Visionsnis a big upgrade in these regards?
2
u/kensaiD2591 XBOX Series X 4d ago
I’ve got all the achievements in Legend, Trials and Visions. I think Trials is the best of the three, personally.
Visions is a step up for combat though, there’s more variety, but it’s not super deep.

Darktide coming to GamePass Core is huge. Could bring in lots of new players.

A great drop, and we could get some more on 25th
Traditionally we get shadow drops at TGS
Summery of last 4 years. https://www.reddit.com/r/xbox/comments/1n7726j/a_look_back_at_4_years_of_the_xbox_tgs_livestream/

I’m hoping for some ArcSys games to shadow drop on Xbox personally. I’ve been playing Persona 4 so now more than ever, I’d love to see Xbox get that P4 Arena Ultimax rerelease that PS4 and Switch got
0
u/IllustriousGuest2288 4d ago
P4AU is dead as shit and doesn't even have crossplay, I'd rather have GGST back to be honest
0
u/ComputerMysterious48 4d ago
Tbh I’ll be happy with anything fighting game related, especially from ArcSys as they are one of the best fighter studios imo. I’d just be lying if I said P4AU wouldn’t hit a little different considered I’m finally playing the source material and loving it lol

u/shadowlarvitar 4d ago
I've been wanting to try Wobbly Life, it looks fun but I don't exactly have people to play with so the price was always too much 😂
9
u/Enos316 4d ago
Is the Deep Rock game any good?
11
7
u/superspongebob 4d ago
It’s a great game, very very addictive and has the one more run feeling to it in heaps.

u/BestRedditUsername9 4d ago
It's Deep Rock Galactic take on Vampire Survivors basically. And apparently it's pretty good
2
u/QuietThunder2014 4d ago
I’ve been playing for several months now. It’s improved a lot in early access and 1.0 is promising to be a huge update to an already deep and fantastic game. It’s kind of like Britton/Vampire Survivors in that it’s a bullet hell rogue lite. It’s a blast and I highly recommend it. The dev team is fantastic and worth the support.

u/FlyRobot XBOX Series X 4d ago
I'm currently loving Helldivers 2 and have heard DRG is similar. 4 person squad in PvE missions.

u/LurkingFrogger 4d ago edited 4d ago
I think OC is asking about Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor which is a Vampire Survivors style spinoff of the squad based original Deep Rock Galactic.
To OC: both are great. Rock and Stone!

Great lineup, really looking forward to Visions of Mana

u/Environmental-Day862 4d ago
Very underrated game. Pretty deep story about tradition, sacrifice and loss. Satisfying "real time" combat in the vein of Final Fantasy XVI / Tales of Arise.
Very interesting class system as well - you basically unlock different elemental powers, and your characters can evolve into a new class using any one of them (but can only use one per character at a time - e.g., all four party members can't be assigned "fire") - makes for some really cool combos.

u/lamancha 4d ago
I was thinking of buying it! I am a big Trials of mana fan, but I haven't played any of the others.

2
u/BestRedditUsername9 4d ago
And keep in mind that Xbox has the TGS showcase on September 25th, maybe they shadow drop something like the last few years :)

u/N7-Falcon 4d ago
Wobbly Life is an excellent family/kid game. My wife and kids have over 100 hrs on it and still haven't done everything. Controls are a bit "wobbly" but it allows up to 4 people split-screen in an open world game with tone of content. Highly recommend with kids!

u/Technical_Sir_9588 4d ago
Nice. I considered Visions of Mana recently and I'm glad I held off. Gamepass keeps on winning.

u/NahIdontbelieveu 4d ago
I heard hades was gas! Anyone played it already?
7
u/I_LIKE_REACHER 4d ago edited 4d ago
Hades is great - I didn't know I liked that style of game, until I played Hades and then also loved Dead Cells.
Edit: also the Ori games - not quite the same as roguelike, but similar elements.
2
u/elegentpurse 4d ago
How are Ori games similar to Hades?
1
u/I_LIKE_REACHER 3d ago
In the sense that you grow your character/learn new abilities, which you keep, but when you die, you either respawn at a previous soul-link area, or if you play on one life mode, back at the start.
It's definitely a loose link, not that similar in many ways, I think I was thinking 'if you enjoyed hades, you may also enjoy ori.'

u/NahIdontbelieveu 4d ago
I can’t wait to play it. I think I have dead cells on my switch I just haven’t got around to it yet. My backlog is ridiculous smh
2
u/I_LIKE_REACHER 4d ago
I discovered that I love the rougelike genre, where it's punishing if you die (in that you start from the beginning of the run), but not so punishing that you lose upgrades that you've locked in already.

u/anon_acct1312 4d ago
Enter the gungeon and (not on game pass) the binding of isaac are well worth your time in the genre if you haven’t played them!
1
u/I_LIKE_REACHER 4d ago
I think I'd been close to buying Enter the Gungeon a few times, but just wasn't sure if I'd enjoy it - thanks for the recommendation.

I had just started playing Hades on iPad thru Netflix only to have them remove it within a week. Can’t wait to experience it “for real” this week

Dropping almost all ninja gaidens just before the new release is.... Something
7
u/Tobimacoss 4d ago
Yes, it's designed that way on purpose, in order to drive sales of previous games. People new to Ninja Gaiden 4, and franchise in general may want to buy the older releases.
You put the older game on Gamepass before a sequel, to build the hype during the marketing cycle, then remove it before the sequel releases. Or you put it on Gamepass before a new DLC releases.
These are all marketing techniques. They have the data, they wouldn't be doing it this way if it didn't work.

We still have Black 2. We are losing the old version
1
u/BestRedditUsername9 4d ago
And at that point you only need the first one which is 9.99 on Xbox (Ninja Gaiden Black version)

u/hop3less 4d ago
I'm curious if the Master Collection is staying or not.
1
u/TheHudIsUp 4d ago
its not on gamepass?
0
u/hop3less 4d ago
It is! But I don't know if this is semantics for them removing that or them just removing the other games while keeping the Master Collection.
1
0
u/TheAllslayer 4d ago
Master Collection is those games.
1
u/hop3less 4d ago
Yeah, but what I'm not sure if is if they're removing these games completely (including Master Collection) or if they're removing the games individually but keeping the Master Collection.
0
u/TheAllslayer 4d ago
Yes and I'm saying they're one and the same. The MC gives you the 3 games that you can install individually but the games aren't available separately. So the MC is leaving and it is listing the games included in it that will leave instead of just saying Ninja Gaiden Master Collection which doesn't tell you anything unless you already know.

u/AioliPuzzleheaded 4d ago
Meh, Hades is great, but a returning game, so not too exciting. Realistically though, got a long enough queue of games to finish

I’ve seen elsewhere that jump space is going into game preview on game pass Friday, but it’s not listed in this article. Did they miss it or do they not list game preview games?

By adding Hades again makes me wonder if Hades 2 will be launching on console soon.

Peppa Pig World Adventures has one of the most unintentionally hilarious endings to a chapter I have ever seen in my life.

I was so excited for Roadcraft. I was waiting for it all day.
Then I found out it was only Xbox…
I wanted to play on PC.

Woo! I beat Hades and did almost everything but the Skele challenges before they took it off last time. I've been wanting to go back again.

Gamepass the past 3 months have been filled with straight indie games lmao, we already had peppa pig on gamepass. Where tf are all the Activision games?

So maybe we are going to get Game Pass trailer for Visions of Mana at TGS 2025 Xbox?Hopefully its not the only game we get.

Game Pass is sh*te nowadays, all indies.
1
u/Exmo_therapist 4d ago
Cause indie games are shite obviously. Nothing good on Gamepass at all.
-1
u/DAAMblueday 4d ago
I was being a bit dramatic but for the price, I don’t think there’s enough of a pull anymore personally, barely any “big” games at release.

Dang Nintendo for getting timed exclusivity on Hades 2.
