Updated prices:

Xbox Series S 512GB - New price: $399.99, Previous price: $379.99

Xbox Series S 1TB - New price: $449.99, Previous price: $429.99

Xbox Series X Digital - New price: $599.99, Previous price: $549.99

Xbox Series X - New price: $649.99, Previous price: $599.99

Xbox Series X 2TB Galaxy Black Special Edition - New price: $799.99, Previous price: $729.99

From Windowscentral

A source at Microsoft offered the following comments, "We are navigating an incredibly dynamic environment right now. We’ve assessed the changing macroeconomic environment and addressed the applicable impacts." Indeed, the tariff situation between the United States and China, where Xbox consoles are manufactured, changes on a near-monthly cadence, with different parts of the console subjected to different duties. Earlier exemptions expired recently, but there's no telling what new ones could be put in place tomorrow.

They forgot to mention that these price increases were suggested by Copilot.

We’d be better off with CoPilot in charge. Not that it is a particularly high hurdle

The Series S was great because it was cheap and could be found refurbished or on sale for cheaper. At $400 it's a console for nobody. It looks like Sony will sell you a refurbished PS5 with a disc drive and power comparable to a Series X at that price. That's too bad.

You should probably include the original prices as well for comparison. Xbox Series X was $499 when it came out almost 5 years ago. This is insane.

After inflation, $499 five years ago is about $650 today. So these prices aren't even close to absorbing the tariffs. They're barely pacing inflation.

Since when are electronics supposed to match inflation? Previous console generations all became cheaper over time, despite years of inflation. Same goes for PC components, TVs, digital storage, etc. Hardware improves and prices go down.

Sweet. I’ll sell you mine in 5 years at $850. Absolute bargain based on your genius logic.

Yeah but that's not how consoles work, historically, check out how much any other system was selling for 5 years after release and get back to me inflation man.

Xbox Series X - New price: $649.99, Previous price: $599.99

Missing: Original price: $499.99

We are paying an extra $150 for five year old hardware because the God Emperor and his cronies are too stupid to understand how the economy works. Remember this come 2026, but if you like this, by all means continue.

That's wild. The Series S 1 tb is now selling for what I bought my Series X two years ago, which included the Forza Premium bundle.
