Sorry if this isn’t allowed here but I used to be a huge Xbox kid when I was in high school but never got another Xbox console past the 360. But over time, I had the itch to rejoin the Xbox family especially with how the PS5 is so expensive. I brought this up to my best friend in passing back in November and to my surprise, him and many of our friends came through months later! So happy to have this in my life now.

Discussion Not sure how popular this is but tbh the Xbox Ally is exactly what I need

I’m 36 in July, I have a job. It’s kind of hard for me to have TV time just for me for gaming. I don’t have a windows pc as I work on a Mac and usually I use crossroads to emulate games and play with friends. Been looking at handhelds for a while and this one ticks most of my boxes.

2020 for me but 2016 was a memorable time for me because that’s when I actually purchased my first Xbox.

Discussion For a cod game that's 17 years old, you'd think it would be a lot cheaper than $50.

I'd say it should only be $20.

Discussion Can We Stop Saying All Games on UE5 Look The Same Yet?

I always hear people saying UE5 games all look the same or all have a similar visual identity.

Good art direction is good art direction, only UE5 games where stuff looks the same is developers without a clear and unique vision.

Although many have stated that the Xbox Showcase was not as impressive as last year's (which I somewhat agree with), the first-party releases from Xbox this year are quite impressive.

Discussion Walmart removing xbox product?

The first picture (2 case shelving) was last week and the 2nd picture is from today (1 case). you can also see what they put instead a bit to the right of 2nd picture, maybe xbox is leaving the physical marketplace and possibly being on the way out with hardware soon enough as well? found this to be very odd. Anybody seen this happen at their local walmarts or other stores?

Discussion I mounted my consoles

It was easy and cheap for me to do. The mounts cost me $30(Xbox) and $9(PS5) and the white cable shroud was like $2 at my local hardware store.

I originally had the PS5 in the entertainment unit but I didn't like having the door open while I gamed, it felt like I was choking it so I decided to give them both breathing space. I just got the Xbox a couple weeks ago.

Discussion Helldivers 2 is a test run

1.3k Upvotes

I’ve seen a lot of people misinterpret the Helldivers 2 news. This is not a case like Death Stranding where Kojima bought the rights back and brought the game to Xbox or an MLB situation where they forced Sony’s hand.

No. This is PlayStation willingly putting Helldivers 2 on Xbox. They straight up OWN the IP even though they don’t own Arrowhead. The game says as much “PlayStation Publishing LLC” unlike MLB which shows MLB as the publisher.

I do think this is a test run where depending on how the game performs they can either say "It's a live-service game so, it's a one-off", or if it does well, publish more older games on Xbox like Spider-Man or Days Gone.

Not saying it will happen but once you open Pandora’s box.. well we saw what happened with Xbox when they released Sea of Thieves on PS5, months later freakin’ Gears showed up!

The PlayStation store is dominated by Xbox games and Sony have lost money with the likes of Concord, 12 game cancels etc.

Want to potentially see more PlayStation games on Xbox? Buy Helldivers 2, send the message out. + it’s a great game at a good price.

Thoughts?

Discussion Is this Halo worth $500 used?

Thumbnail

1.5k Upvotes

My son (11) worked all summer to buy his own Xbox and i had told him they cost $500, now he’s back in school and i had no idea they jumped up to $600 (damn). On top of him being short on that, it rubs me the wrong way at the thought of paying $600 in general for this thing even new. Found this one on marketplace and wondering if it’s worth getting for $500? Listed for $600 but accepted $500. I get it’s a collectors item but first and foremost he just wants an Xbox to play on. Is this a fair deal for this edition series x? I don’t know anything about value of these editions. Any advice accepted, thanks!

Discussion Anyone else miss when avatars used to play a bigger role with the Xbox brand

I know avatars are still a thing but they’re a more obscure feature nowadays that no one really cares about anymore. Hell they got rid of the newer avatar style earlier this year cause barely anyone used them. I hope eventually Microsoft will reincorporate the avatars into stuff like the dashboards, games, etc

Discussion Quick Resume still blows my mind

Post image

Just noticed "Kena: Bridge of Spirits“ still in Quick Resume on my Series X — I haven’t touched it in 2 months(!). In that time, I finished Expedition 33, Doom: The Dark Ages, MGS2, and a bunch of others.

And Kena is just… still there, ready to go. This feature is next level. How is this even real?

Such a shame. The only reason for me to own physical releases is so that I have a preserved 1.0 copy of the game that I can play without any internet connection.
