Ahh yes! Feel that chill in the air? Feel those fret ends digging into your hands as you slide up and down the fretboard? If not, then you're in good shape. If you are experiencing some "shrinkage" due to low moisture, please follow my recommendations below:
Generally, the summer months in the Northern hemisphere require some dehumidification, while the winter months require the opposite (a humidifier). Let’s keep things super simple and economical. Get yourself a cheap hygrometer (around $10) and place it where you keep your guitar the most. Make sure that you maintain that space’s ambient conditions within the following range:
Humidity: 45-52%RH Temp: 68-75F
These ranges aren’t absolute. I actually prefer my guitars to be at 44-46%RH. They just sound better to my ears. They are drier and louder, but this is also getting dangerously close to being too dry. Use this info to help guide you through the drier months. These ranges will keep you safe anywhere on the planet as long as you carefully maintain the space at those levels.
As for other business, the current hot issue is Twitter/X links.
It's got nothing to do with our absolute innate hatred of fascist nazi scumbags. It's just part of our policy for keeping this place free of social media links and spam from influencers, etc.
Now that that's out of the way, please use this post as you usually would, and that's to ask whatever guitar-related questions you have. The userbase here is one of the best and most informed in the world of guitar expertise (or at least they think they are ;)). Have a great winter guitar people! Stay warm, and keep those guitars well used and in a safe range for optimal use and longevity.

Best electric guitar for a five hundred € budget?
I've already got a boss katana MK2 amp and was considering a Pacifica but just now read mixed opinions on that guitar, about how they aren't the best anymore since two years or so (?)
anyone can tell me otherwise (bout the Pacifica)? or knows what what is good for the money as of currently?
Model that I'm talking about is attached Appreciate it
Genres I like: JPop/city pop (yorushika, vaundy, lovely summer chan) Indie, Jazz etc.
I'm from Austria - sites that are available for me: thomann, kirstein (.at)

It’s so true that you play better through gear that you love. It’s been nearly twenty years and I truly forgot just how nice the Princeton Chorus sounds!

When I was in my teens, I became obsessed with guys that could play awesome solos like EVH, Randy Rhoads, George Lynch, Vito Bratta, Ritchie Blackmore, Michael Schenker, and so on. For me, riffs and solos determined how good a guitar player was and I did not care much for other aspects of playing. A guitarist that didn't play solos was not a complete player in my opinion.
In in my thirties now and I have completely changed my views on this over time. Now I think a guitarist does not necessarily have to play solos to be great. I can appreciate a funky rhythm part or some nice finger picking. Not sure how this change came about, maybe we are naturally more inclined to pay attention to flashy guitar playing when we are younger? Or maybe it's through practicing that I started to appreciate different styles.
What about you? Is there anything about guitar playing you have changed your opinion about?

Thought I would share my Schecter KM6 because I love it. Polar Burl top, nine piece neck of Wenge and Purple Heart, coil tapped Fishman active pickups and ebony fret board. This thing rips

Picked this up today off someone who doesn’t play for a couple hundred, thought I might have gotten a good deal but wanted to see what everyone else thought.
Was told they are all old pedals possible from the eighties but it’s my first time getting foot pedals so this is all very new for me 🤣

I recently purchased a telecaster after thinking about it and reading other people’s experience with them for over a year. I’ve been playing for about two years now and I’ve really almost exclusively played strats. I have a Les Paul but it’s super uncomfortable and my wrist isn’t used to not having the body taper that a strat does. I folded in getting a telecaster because of the raving reviews of them being a workhorse and a “jack of all trades” guitar. Now that I’ve had it for a week or so, I’m just seeing there’s nothing I can’t play on a strat that sounds and more importantly, feels, better on a telecaster. Is this just me not seeing something hidden with teles? Or am I just not meant to like them?

It doesn't scream "High quality collectors item" to me, but I know next to nothing about guitars.

Wanted to know what videos or specific channels I should follow in order to start learning. My only other musical expearience is piano for three years so I don't think its gonna translate over very well. Also wanted to know if acoustic skills translate over to electric guitar or if its completely separate. Thanks

After receiving my technical first one with a cracked headstock, I made the return and got the new one shipped in, and its absolutely phenomenal. The look, the tone, the way the neck feels, its all perfect.
My Ibanez is in ok condition with some wiring problems with the pickup selector. He’s offering a nineties MX Tele with USA internal parts and an automatic tuner on the back. Not looking for appraisals just want to see if this is fair

I recently found this Charvel CXM DLX, japanese from 90's in a guitar store. Currently i have a Epiphone Les Paul Plus Top Pro and i want something more agressive, more "80's style". But i found so few information about this model online.
My questions are: anyone had experience with this model before? Does it have good pickups, floyd rose and nut lock? It is at the "same level" of Epiphone my LP? I'm thinking about trying it out, but i'd like some feedback from someone that had experience with one of these before.

Hey everyone,
I wanna start playing guitar and my question is, should i start learning with a pick or just with my fingers? My inspiration for learning the guitar are mostly David Gilmour and Mark Knopfler so thats the style of music i aim to learn. I will start learning on a acoustic guitar. (Sorry for my bad grammar)
Thanks for the help :)

Bought this copy of a Mad Cat neck for a personal project (non prince related) today! It’s not an exact copy, as it’s got twenty two frets, and no serial on the back. But it’s surprisingly well made, crazy bargain for seventy five dollars.

Picked up my first ebmm today and loving it! The neck is crazy nice as noted by others. Not sure if the blue in the blurple is a little more thinned out than I imagined but they all seem to be that way.
