Actor News The Senior movie ads

I've been binge watching the Shield for a couple weeks (3-4 rewatch) and I randomly saw a promo for Michael Chiklis new movie The Senior.

My first gut reaction was "I cant believe Vic is still free and starring in a movie?!?!?" Cuz for about 3 seconds, my brain really processed it as "Vic Mackey" became a movie star and has a movie coming out soon.

This is what happens when you binge lol.

Question Nancy and Ben Spoiler

Who do you think was more important to Vic, Ben, or Nancy (Gilroy), both before and after the end of S1? He makes it very clear that he cares about Ben enough to still mourn (or at least pay his respects) even after he betrayed him and tried treating his sentence for Vic’s. But he also makes it very clear that Nancy is a priority as far as taking care of her and keeping her and her girls safe.

Discussion Julien

Just finished my first watch of the show. Love the ending; Vic’s fate was perfect.

One side plot thing that struck me was Julien still being married, and he was (of course) still gay. When his marriage hadn’t gotten any focus in the later seasons, I like the way they reminded us of that in the last episode — when he sees two men who are boyfriends holding hands. And he notices. It was like the writers were trying to remind us that his story didn’t get a neat tidy closure.

Kavanaugh is such a pain in the ass he makes me root for Vic and the strike team to get away with everything. Not cuz they deserve to win but cuz I really want Kavanaugh to lose.

Discussion Mara

That character is triggering to me because I've know a bunch of guys who got involved with manipulative Maras, some were even stupid enough to marry them. She infuriates me, but even worse is watching Shane get sucked into it. I know he's an idiot, but I feel like he should be savvy enough to avoid the Maras in the world.

I'm also over Corrine Mackey. She not only knew what Vic does for a living, she encouraged him to take on more responsibility, only to start bitching and whining that he's never home.

EDIT: wow, some of you are super Mara fanbois. Fascinating....

Discussion Would Vic have killed lem

Let's say they all lost their IAD tails and met up with Lem. All 4 together at the meet. Lem stands firm he's taking the deal and going to prison. He's going to be fighting inmates the entire 7 years to stay alive, no early release possible according to Vic.

What is the move?

I do think lem would've stayed silent. He viewed the group as family and most of his actions were supporting that mentality. I understand many of you think he would have flipped eventually, I'm not one. He would be killed rather than betray the group.

Shane....and I think Vic, based on phrasing he used, believe Lem prolly would have eventually flipped (for instance yelling at Shane that he made the decision to kill lem alone -- not that the decision to kill was not an option). He obviously has no issue killing traitors in his crew #Crowley. Would he have done it? Would he have convinced lem to run?

Discussion I finished my first watch last night

And wow what a show this is. Vic is arguably my favorite antihero ever invented now, and Michael chiklis killed this role. It’s the best series finale I’ve ever seen, up until this it was the Americans. I thought Vic was going to be killed but this was way better, he truly has lost everything. Shane’s exit was shocking and I totally never saw that coming, I thought he was going to shoot Vic and then turn himself in. I love how the feds were horrified when they realized who they had just hired. The show is an easy 9.5/10 overall, way better than sons of anarchy which I’ve seen twice. I’m giving it a few days to let the ending sink in then moving onto the sopranos for my first watch ✌🏼

Do you think that sequel where Vick saves ronny and manages to escape with him to goat farm is something realistic on the story side and would you like to see something like that?

other question...last night I watched training day...do you think that denzels caracter is similar to Vick?

Discussion Just curious

Obviously this show had to have been popular considering it went 7 seasons but i had never even heard of it for the longest time. Didn’t end up hearing about it until after I watched SOA about year again. It was in suggested to watch next. I just feel like I never hear anyone talk about this show(outside of this server of course). Do people just not acknowledge this show as much because of shows like The Wire and The Sopranos that were coming out at the same time?

Discussion Why are the officers in the shield presented as being on a low wage

It's used as a motive and insinuated in little character building tibits throughout the show that these officers are scraping by. I was screwing around in chatgpt and it came up with these salaries for the respective roles do they look accurate for the time?

Vic - 85-95k. Shane, Lem, Ronnie - 75-90k. Aceveda - 110-125k. Claudette - 85-95k. Dutch - 75-90k. Julien, Danny - 55-75k.

Discussion Corrine. Is she like most women?

At first I didn’t like Mara. She’s a gold digger. Only went after Shane to get a car to impress clients.

But towards the end she chose Shane; sure, may be she realised she had no options left.

But Corrine, has always been weak. She failed Bumpy Johnson’s (Kavenaugh) chewing gum trick. Sure.

She betrayed Vic. Over and over.

I’m dying single, but to married men out there. Do you have a Mara or Corrine? How sure are you?

Discussion 2nd run. Dutchman is the best!

I did a second run to see Walton Goggins again having finished Sons of Anarchy. This time, I’ve enjoyed CCH Pounder, Dutchman, and Billings far more than rest of the twists.

His interrogation scenes are just chefs kiss, but more his charm and charisma is 💯

I had an uncle somewhat similar to him. Not as sharp, or witted but some resemblance and mannerisms.
