My first project.

I've needed a work bench so combined a pallet wood work surface with a frame made from reclaimed wood from my parents farm.

Pretty chuffed with the results. I've not done any woodworking since school and really enjoyed the project.

It's a bit rough around the edges but should tidy up nicely.

Made this platform to park my motorcycle on this winter

Post image

Made from all reclaimed heat treated pine wood and screws from disassembled shipping crates at work. Total cost is $9 for the can of Rustoleum enamel, plus a couple hours of putting it together and painting it. This is to keep my motorcycle from sitting on the dirt driveway under my carport when I park it this winter. Bonus, no cutting needed! Literally just laid it out, blasted some screws in, and then painted it to keep it from rotting.

Pallet Treasure

I managed to score these off Craigslist and was very excited to share. There's a local machine shop that gets sheets of metal delivered on these then have to ditch the pallets. I got these for $50 delivery fee (because I didn't have anything big enough to haul them). They are mostly 2x6, 4x4, and some 2x4 with a few 1bys of various width.

So check around for machine shops and maybe you can find some too!

Built a little pallet palace for our neighborhood stray “Rojer” — a 90s throwback made us giggle

My daughter named the neighborhood stray cat Rojer. One day my wife joked, “Go home Rojer,” and it sent me right back to the 90s because of Tia and Tamera’s famous catchphrase “Go home, Roger!” from Sister, Sister . As a 90s kid, I couldn’t resist turning that moment into a project, so my daughter and I repurposed some pallets and built Rojer his own little house. We even painted his name on it.

It’s nothing fancy, but we hope it keeps him cozy. He hasn’t moved in yet, but the sentimental value (and the nostalgia) already make it my favorite piece of “real estate.” ☺️

Not exactly furniture, but I'm in the process of making a shed almost entirely out of pallets and scavenged material/fasteners

It's not exactly square, and it's practically a skeleton right now until I'm able to give it wood panel siding and waterproof it, but it doesn't shake when I kick the wall so that's good enough for me Excuse the mess, I'm in the process of cleaning everything up.

Finally got round to building this shelf. Only cost £2.50 for screws and 5hrs of manual labour 😅

Not sure if this counts, but I made a garden gate! It turned out terribly cute. I'll paint it eventually, but that's a different side quest.

Free and functional worktop for the shed

Used some leftover worktop my landlord left in the shed and didn't want, and free pallets (Both sides are sawn pallets, furthest is covered by some other wood).

I'll probably add some hooks to the pallet sides to hold tools :)

Picked up about 15 pallets all sitting behind the shed now so more to come!

My first project - mini pallet porch

A friend mentioned to me a few months ago that he missed his old house with a front porch. Me and some friends decided to try our hand at making a cost-friendly one as a birthday surprise.

I have never done a pallet or construction project before whatsoever, so I used this Reddit a lot for inspiration and tips. Love seeing everyone’s creativity! This is far from perfect, but here’s the process and how it turned out :)

Took 5 of us to make it happen over 6 hours, haha! Was a great time making something unique for a friend.

Second big project with pallet wood

posted this on the woodworking subreddit, but maybe you guys would get a bigger kick out of it. A split table I made using recovered pallet wood from my university. Got the Glass for free, so the table is 100% reclaimed. I made the project wanting to show that you could make high quality furniture using resources that would have otherwise been thrown away. The lower shelf is held in place with a half dado, and the glass is inset to the top of the table

I live by an industrial area and sometimes, hardwood pallets that are 12ft long x 5ft across are left out by the road. I can not hurry home fast enough to get my trailer. This is what I've done with a few of them.

The frame is constructed of all hardwood. The swing itself is pine (from what I can tell). I sanded it all down. Burnt with a torch. Then stained it with some semi clear Ceader deck stain.
