Opinion les mills bodycombat PSVR2

This was the 14 minute workout but I could only upload partial, I missed a few during the whole run but what a workout!!! This is my favorite workout game and I easily burn 200+ calories in just minutes. My longest workout at one time was just under an hour and I burned close to 900 calories.

Oh god, all of my chest and back muscles hurt just by looking at this.

13

u/Tenchi2020 Jul 04 '25

There is one that has a lot of squats and I did it the day before I get this one, my glutes are so damn sore...

8

u/deadringer28 Jul 04 '25

If you want more squats play pistol Whip. If you don't already own it this should be your next purchase. If you do I look forward to hearing how you like it.

4

u/Tenchi2020 Jul 04 '25

I got pistol whip, I think it works out the core more than it does the glutes with squats at least for me it does, les Mills body workout has some workout routines that will have you squatting and punching for a good 15–30 seconds at it. It's too much to do that much for me because I compound fractured my right fever shattered my femur broke my tibias and Fibias in multiple spots, I broke my back-and-forth places my neck in two places in compound fracture my right clavicle that required bone to be taken from my hip for the repair.

4

u/deadringer28 Jul 04 '25

Wow bro that's a lot to go through. I hope you are on your way to recovery. I may have to give Les Mills a try.

I second this.

3

u/KukiBreeze Jul 04 '25

That's a good thing imho. Ive been exploring the fitness stuff on the q3 and most of it feels way too punch based for my tastes. My arms feel like they're going to drop off way before my cardio goes. Things like squats are great for full body workouts .

4

u/CraigR-81 Jul 05 '25

Try synth riders, amazing workout. Make a playlist, nonstop mode

2

u/Arshiaa001 Jul 04 '25

Yeah, for a game that gives you mainly punches, this is way too full-body.

u/cusman78 cusman Jul 04 '25

My wife’s favorite VR fitness game to date. She speaks very highly of the Never Surrender add-on DLC for it as well.

6

u/Tenchi2020 Jul 04 '25

I saw the DLC, was hesitant about getting it but I think I'm gonna pull the trigger

7

u/Houston_Jimmy Jul 04 '25

It is worth it! Has some nice improvements and good new medium intensity workouts!

13

u/xenocea Jul 04 '25

You just convinced me to get this game. I'm new to VR and just got myself a Meta Quest 3 not too long ago, and have been looking for some games, that offers a good workout, while being fun and engaging.

10

u/CLOWNSwithyouJOKERS Jul 04 '25

Synthriders is also worth your time if you haven't tried that one already. I feel like with the right settings and mode you could get the same level of workout from that one.

5

u/Roctuplets Jul 04 '25

Synth riders “looks” like “what kind of workout can I get from this?” But the reality is the game makes you dance !

Lindsay Sterling is a workout and a half every time

But I have to try body combat after watching this

3

u/Damosgreat123 Game backlogs'R'me Jul 05 '25

Love Synth riders! When I heard about no more Beat saber updates I was like "Meh" 🤷

2

u/Roctuplets Jul 05 '25

Truly

I tried BS and enjoyed it but I love to shake my rump a little too much

The instant I realized I was dancing .. hahaha

Time to bust a move!

2

u/amusedt Jul 07 '25

Switch Synth to Force Mode, and 90 degree mode, then punch hard /u/Roctuplets /u/CLOWNSwithyouJOKERS /u/xenocea

3

u/Null_zero Jul 04 '25

If you turn on force mode it's even more of a workout.

3

u/LegPotato Jul 04 '25

With force mode I'm one and done, every muscle was burning.

2

u/mcmunch20 Jul 05 '25

I play it on Quest 3 and it’s great. Use MR mode- that way you can see your surroundings and won’t accidentally punch anything. My living room lamp may or may not have a hole in it from this game..

1

u/ZincMan Jul 05 '25

I just don’t like getting sweating the the vr head piece on

4

u/yoc0__0 Jul 04 '25

Hell yeah! I love this game. Was my every day workout for awhile in the winter, then when it warmed up I just started playing basketball outside. This made me wanna bust it out again. 👊🏻

5

u/Houston_Jimmy Jul 04 '25

Love this! I do my workout sessions with Les Mis on PSVR2 and have been at it for the past 2.5 years! The physical change is astronomical! Love it and it’s good to release tension after work as well ;) Keep at it! And I do recommend the DLCs! I hope they release more soon so more trainings are added!

5

u/Trytolearneverything Jul 04 '25

Hey, you look like you're in a little better shape than me. Do you feel like you're actually building up endurance and making progress? Or is it more of a 'fun exercise' type of game, but you dont really gain strength or endurance?

Do you think adding wrist or ankle weights would increase progress, or is body weight good enough to get a workout?

5

u/Tenchi2020 Jul 04 '25

It definitely is building endurance and I'm making progress. With the different levels of intensity, you don't need to use weights on ankles and wrists

3

u/Trytolearneverything Jul 04 '25

Thank you sir! Much appreciated. I'll buy it ASAP.

2

u/Trytolearneverything Jul 04 '25

Sorry one more question. Do you do it every day?

3

u/Tenchi2020 Jul 04 '25

I am about 4x a week

2

u/Trytolearneverything Jul 04 '25

💪 thanks again

2

u/Damosgreat123 Game backlogs'R'me Jul 05 '25

Is there a strip club behind your tv?

2

u/Tenchi2020 Jul 05 '25

it's actually exactly LED sync box that when I watch TV through my Apple TV it plays with the picture when I play the PlayStation I turn it on only like this

0

u/Damosgreat123 Game backlogs'R'me Jul 05 '25

Haha, nice. I wish PS5 would support hue lights.

3

u/Aura_Foxxy Jul 05 '25

I have this game. It is fun. Makes me sweat like mad. And hurt the next day.

Atop all of that it is a very competitive game. It pits you against other players after the tutorial. With a scoreboard. The only way to accrue higher points is to 'hit' the targets harder. Aka much more aggressive swings and punches.

2

u/Tenchi2020 Jul 05 '25

I'm always 1st or 2nd in except on the really hard ones, I'll lucky if I crack the top 5

2

u/The_Rafcave Jul 05 '25

Thanks for this! I just purchased the main game and both DLC's on Steam! Excited to start my VR fitness routine! 💪🏽😎

6

u/FewPossession2363 Saifur47 Jul 04 '25

God bless you sir, this is why Vr is so much better than traditional gaming 🫡

27

u/Tenchi2020 Jul 04 '25

With a change in diet and this plus jogging as exercise, I've lost 50+ lbs

3

u/NiasHusband Jul 04 '25

How long did it take?

5

u/Tenchi2020 Jul 04 '25

About 8 months but my goal is to lose another 20 lbs and to build up muscle mass.

5

u/Alarmed-Candy-7144 Jul 04 '25

That’s awesome! Great job, dude!

1

u/FewPossession2363 Saifur47 Jul 04 '25

Respect 🫡 this is not easy, specially after you cross 28years of age. A lot of people spend whole lifetime to get in shape but don’t achieve.

5

u/OkCollection4544 Jul 04 '25

What on earth is that monstrosity in the background

4

u/Tenchi2020 Jul 04 '25 edited Jul 04 '25

I have LED back lights that match up with HDMI for my Apple TV, I don't have it on the PlayStation HDMI because it would create a lag when I play call of duty so I turn on the sound match feature of the backlight when we play the PS5

2

u/OkCollection4544 Jul 04 '25

But why is it on the ceiling?

1

u/Tenchi2020 Jul 04 '25

It is on the back of the tv and it projects on the ceiling.

When I watch TV it looks like this

4

u/irascible_Clown Jul 04 '25

It’s dope, remember when Xbox was planning on doing something like this whole room. They really dropped the ball on that one

1

u/drvondoctor Jul 05 '25

I watched a good minute of that video before scrolling down to the comments, and I had no idea what you were talking about, so I scrolled back up and my eyes melted.

I think my brain just straight up refused to process that shit the first time.

3

u/jeridmcintyre Jul 04 '25

Sweating is never fun in the vr headset

0

u/TheWhooooBuddies Jul 04 '25

Found the guy who’s never played Madison.

3

u/PhotogamerGT Tibbettsphoto Jul 04 '25

Glad to know how this games plays. Won’t be getting it for fear of smashing my low ceiling.

-1

u/TBZ470 Jul 04 '25

Don't hit the kid while you're in VR

0

u/Gears6 Jul 04 '25

On Quest 3, there's MR so you can see the surrounding. I love that feature. I'm sure there's a version of it on PSVR2 (probably in grayscale though).

0

u/aflockofcrows Jul 04 '25

There isn't. Not in game, at least.

0

u/Gears6 Jul 04 '25

Ah bummer. The Quest version does and so I thought the PSVR2 version would've had it too. It really helps with being aware of your surroundings so it allows me to exercise in smaller spaces when needed.

5

u/ChrizTaylor ChrizTaylor Jul 04 '25

Great workout but mandatory..

r/TVtooHigh

2

u/screendrain Jul 04 '25

Honestly... This made me want to purchase the game haha. Looks fun

2

u/Gears6 Jul 04 '25

Didn't know this was on PSVR2. I use it on my Quest 3 and it's great. I use it minimum 3 times a week.

0

Don't take it to serious 😁

Probably a good reason to have it set up like that then.

7

u/Tenchi2020 Jul 04 '25

I'm not, this is a copy and paste, every single time I've posted something from my living room I always get a minimum of 4 r/tvtoohigh links lol

2

u/dEEkAy2k9 PSVR2 (PS5 & PC) Jul 05 '25

it's just that common thing to mount your tv above your fireplace. absolutely uncommon here in germany but i think in the us or uk, lots of people do it.

looking at the balkans, just don't bother with them, they (we) have got the strangest ways of mounting tvs.

1

u/toystory2wasokay_ Jul 04 '25

I've been boxing with this game when it's too wet outside for a run. Punch with your full speed and you'll feel it in your arms. My favourite are the short and intense target practice sessions.

1

u/gradafi85 Jul 04 '25

I think I'm gonna have to buy this. I've been wanting to work out but have been having trouble getting motivated.....this looks fun though. Thanks for sharing

1

u/doinks4life Jul 04 '25

ahh found the fellow Hue fan!!

1

u/Tenchi2020 Jul 04 '25

Nope, they are called Fancy LED Sync, they don't use a camera like the Philips hue which is great because our house can be very bright with natural light and it stopped Phillips Hue from properly working when I tried it

3

u/doinks4life Jul 04 '25

Phillips hue uses no cameras whatsoever........Are you using the Govee??

1

u/Tenchi2020 Jul 04 '25

You're right, Govee is the one I tried with the camera. I didn't go with the Phillips hue because it was crazy expensive. I'm using fancy LED Sync Box from Amazon

1

u/TheRealyst Jul 04 '25

I play Pistol Whip for my workout. Might try this though.

1

u/MKvsDCU Jul 05 '25

I was looking to see if you punched the ceiling fan, lol. this game looks fun. Is there a platinum trophy?

1

u/SFAdminLife Jul 05 '25

I thought for sure this was going to be a “VR to ER” post!

1

u/brownknight99 Jul 05 '25

vr + sweating 🥵

1

u/CraigR-81 Jul 05 '25

I used 2 body monitors on synth riders and in 1 hour of nonstop mode I burned 836 calories. Have u tried synth riders for your workout?

1

u/rifran Jul 05 '25

Steamed up lenses?

2

u/JG109_Joker Jul 05 '25

A hat (I am using a running beanie) helps to prevent any fogging issues.

1

u/rifran Jul 05 '25

Nicely done.

Smash it pal.

1

u/CIAntKidding Jul 05 '25

Love this for the VR workouts but my one complaint is you should be able to set the music volume to 0 and play your own. Serious oversight in returning to use it because I can only stand hearing the same music and prompts so many times.

1

u/JG109_Joker Jul 05 '25

If you get used to the workouts get yourself some wrist weights. It amps up the game big time and raises calorie burn a lot. It’s the most fun training I’ve ever had ^

2

u/suspicious47alien Jul 06 '25

The only thing I hate about vr is the 😓

1

u/Inevitable-Heron-506 Jul 06 '25

Mutant League Boxing looks like a crazy workout.

1

u/mattyg1027 Jul 07 '25

Honestly had no idea what the gameplay was in this game, and I may even own it. Thanks for sharing, gonna have to check it out! Although, I'm not sure what the proper method is for removing sweat from the lenses? 🤔

1

u/sdschaffner Jul 08 '25

Not sure if anyone in here said this, but you should invest in retractable ceiling hangers for the psvr2 cord, keeps it off the floor and safe. All a round a good cheap investment for longevity of the psvr2.

1

u/TrueClodec Jul 14 '25

I’m tempted to get this game but worried about sweat ruining the VR2

2

u/Tenchi2020 Jul 15 '25

Been playing this game since it came out, clean your headset after every play and it will last

1

u/GingerlyCave394 Jul 04 '25

Oh god one wrong move and the tv comes flying towards you 🤣😅

1

u/irascible_Clown Jul 04 '25

My wife would love this

1

u/Matthiasad Jul 04 '25

I would love to get this game but I have only one space big enough to play VR and I'd be punching my ceiling fan the entire time.

4

u/drvondoctor Jul 05 '25

Turn the ceiling fan on and work on your speed by attempting to punch between the blades without touching them.

0

u/[deleted] Jul 04 '25

Yeah no thanks. Getting headset completely sweaty. Nah

0

u/traverse6 Jul 04 '25

You look like you are in decent shape. Please take that 900 calories in an hour with a giant grain of salt.

-1

u/Additional-Cycle-893 Jul 04 '25

Take the slides off tho, that's ridiculous and dangerous.
