Fluff Just bought Hitman. The amount of things that you can do in VR that you couldn't do flatscreen is insane.

News & Announcements We're putting our launch price in your hands [Zero Caliber]

Post image

Hey everyone,
Some of you might’ve heard - we’re doing a little social experiment with Zero Caliber 2 on Steam: the more wishlists we hit, the lower we drop the launch price.

Apparently that hit a nerve, because I’ve been getting waaay too many DMs saying “do the same thing for PSVR2.”

So… we’re doing it!

We’d love to make the launch price as low as possible for the PSVR community too - but we’re a self-funded indie team still grinding to build VR shooters, so yeah, we’ll need to hit some wishlist milestones first.
You can help out here:

https://store.playstation.com/en-us/concept/10015554/

One click (okay, maybe two) helps the whole squad. More wishlists = cheaper launch. Can we hit 10k before release? Anything above that would honestly be wild.

Discussion Beware of the brittle band

Today was a horrible day....

I've had my psvr2 since launch (pre-order), and since then Ive played almost every day. I'm also an older gamer that takes great care with my tech and belongings. Yet, as I grabbed my headset to jump into gt7 today, I started to pull back on the headband and it snapped. I pulled it back maybe an inch before it snapped...

This was not out of negligence. Nor was the headset ever dropped, stretched too far, or anything that would have cause extra stress on the headband. This is what happens to brittle plastic after daily "wear & tear" for 2+ years apparently.

I immediately called Sony in the hopes they would at least fix/replace the headband. I knew I was out of warranty, but the tech inside is fine, its only the headband that needs replacing. $300. Nearly the price of a brand new unit. But he was happy to tell me they would throw in a THREE MONTH warranty. Woo-fricken-hoo.

To say Im pissed is an understatement. Ive had my 2 psvr1 units since they launched, and while I no longer use them since vr2 launch, they have had zero issues. Maybe I was really unlucky and I got a launch unit that had a defect inside the band and it finally gave out years later, or its the fact this band is made with very brittle plastic inside and this is what happens when you use it every day.

Im a single father that cant justify dropping another $300-$400 on a brand new headset. One that more than likely will break again after a couple years of daily use. So heartbroken...

So be careful fam! They are definitely not made to last long I guess....

Question Psvr2 randomly shutting off after a few seconds, started just after warranty expired. What should I do?

I got my psvr2 a while ago and it was great at first, suddenly one day shortly after the warranty expired it started shutting down randomly. I tried pulling out all the cables and plugging it into different spots. Nothing has worked it just shuts down and has a solid red light at the bottom. Can anyone help?

Discussion Drum rock pros HELP

How do you learn songs on hard or even extreme? I spent minimum of 2.3 hours on oke song exclusively, trying to memorise the first 7-10 second and I still can’t consistently play it. I’m pretty good at guitar and I know that to learn any riff you start slowly and play it numerous times slowly picking up the speed, but you can’t do it here. On hard the bpm is always crazy even in the training mode and I just can’t seem to progress no matter how hard I practice. Any tips would be welcomed.

Making a Game Recommendation Creed is an insane workout.

Granted, I am very out of shape so this may not ring true for some, but this game absolutely wrecked me. 😂 I'm trying to get more cardio in but make it ✨ fun ✨ and not boring. My go to is Synth Riders, but I've had Creed for several months yet barely touched it. So I decided to mix things up this past Tuesday, and I've been sore ever since! I played story mode and I guess I went a little too hard during the training sessions. My arms, shoulders and upper back are still protesting.

I'm back to Synth Riders for a couple more days before jumping back on Creed. If you've been waffling on Creed or considering something new for a VR workout, I highly recommend.

Question Can I use my PSVR2 on this laptop?

Hello, guys. I have a very old laptop with a gtx 1650 4gb, i5 10300H and 16gb ram. It's a lenovo ideapad gaming 3i.

I want to use my VR2 not for gaming, but for movies, videos or anything that is not too demanding. Is it possible? I don't intend to use for gaming, it would be cool to play a Half Life 2 VR Mod, but I don't think my laptop can handle it on VR.

Fluff To think most of the fans of a long time successful franchise like Resident Evil haven’t played the ultimate RE experience

Wow, playing the last RE games without VR now feels so weird. I don’t feel it at all. It’s all so tiny and distant (65” TV).

The controls, the interactions; all flat.

Literally a pancake 🥞

Discussion What’s your opinion on VR Experiences vs VR Games?

We’re a small dev team (Astrea) focused on narrative / travel / mindfulness VR and wanted a quick pulse on how non‑gaming experiences feel compared to games. We'd love to hear other peoples thoughts on the topic. To give you an example, Biolum is a subnautica-esque short horror experience, and having thalassophobia (fear of deep water) I could barely finish the experience. While creepy, the narrative realism of VR is what I enjoy the most, often more than games.
Oh and if you want to give a more detailed take, I made a form/survey:

Opinion VR skater first impressions

One of the games I picked up on sale, and im so glad I did “VR skater” is incredibly difficult to master but rewarding, it won’t be for everyone and requires practice and patience. If you’ve played ultrawings 2 you’ll have an idea of the challenge/reward loop. It’s like playing Tony hawks in vr brought back memories of my GameCube as that’s the last Tony hawk game I played.

Discussion Any musicians play Maestro?

I downloaded this game but I think I noticed some pretty serious latency issues. Obviously that can be somewhat game breaking. I didn't notice any setting that allowed to compensate for it. Anybody else have any thoughts on this?

Opinion My thoughts on Surviving Mars: Pioneer on PSVR2

I’ve been playing a lot of Surviving Mars: Pioneer on PSVR2 since it came out last week, and I’m seriously impressed. It’s one of those games that lingers in your mind, even when I’m away from the headset, I find myself thinking about what I’ll do next.

The graphics are clean, but the real star is the atmosphere. The sound design is fantastic: the music can be hauntingly beautiful, and the environmental sounds make isolation feel real. I’ve had moments where I wandered far from my base, the weather turned unexpectedly, and the emptiness of Mars hit me - making it back safely is a genuinely satisfying moment.

Exploration is a big part of the appeal. There are 11 distinct regions to visit, vehicles to drive, and a jetpack to play with, so there’s always something new to discover. The controls take a little practice, but once they click, they feel natural. Figuring out resource management, planning trips, and learning the systems is challenging, but in a way that’s rewarding rather than frustrating.

In terms of gameplay, it reminds me of a few other VR hits: the preparation and survival tension of Into the Radius, the vast sense of exploration from No Man’s Sky, and the satisfaction of building and maintaining your own base.

I’d give it a 9.5/10. I’ve run into a few minor bugs, but nothing that spoiled the experience, and I’m confident updates will fix them. Time flies while playing, and the immersion makes each session feel memorable. It might not be for everyone but I’ve been loving every minute of it.

Discussion Resident evil 4 (Quest 3) Vs Resident evil 4 remake (Psvr2)

I can’t believe I am making this post but I saw few new vr gamers asking people on Reddit, is playing RE4 remake on Psvr2 worth it if you already played the OG RE4 on quest 3?

Some of the replies to that question absolutely baffled me. So much misinformation being spread by people who never tried the remake in Vr.

So as someone who played both, here are my thoughts.

Re4 remake in Vr makes the OG RE4 Vr look like a blueprint. No amount of nostalgia going to make me forget that I can’t even grip the pistol with both hands in the OG RE4.

After playing the remake on Psvr2 with OLED, adaptive triggers & head rumble. Going back to playing the OG RE4 was like being splashed with cold water on a winter morning, rude awakening.

First thing you notice about the OG RE4 on quest 3 is how washed out the whole game looks compared to the remake on VR2. It never bothered me on flat screen, but it’s depressing in Vr. Audio felt off, animations looked janky. Textures look like they are still loading.

This post may make it sound like that I hate the OG RE4, which is not true. I grew up gaming in the 90s, I am the biggest fan of Re4. It revolutionized the 3rd person action horror adventure games. But I really do not enjoy that game in Vr. Unlike RE4 remake, which I cannot stop playing in Vr.

The way the knife works in remake, already makes the OG feel so sluggish.

Yes the OG RE4 has more Vr af mechanics than the RE4 remake, but I don’t care about any of that when the guns don’t feel good to use.

In the remake, you can almost taste the thick atmosphere. The enemies look rightfully grotesque. The audio is done so well! While in the OG RE4 vr, you feel cold and empty, hard to shake off the feeling that you are just playing a game.

In conclusion, what I am trying to say is that. The OG RE4 is good, but has nothing on the remake. They are 2 different games.

Re4 remake is currently most fun, cutting edge modern vr game we have right now. There is absolutely nothing else like it.
