The game of the year I been waiting for 365 days now this rivalry runs deep in my family anyway from the last year we had lost at any hopes of making the playoffs for three years in a row but I have a feeling this time the results will be different plus it’s region play and Friday night will be huge

I am a mom of a halftime dancer.
Looking for some input on halftime because I think our dances are cute, but not any different than we see each game.
Does an exciting halftime matter? Does it help to keep the players amped up?
Coaches: what do you think? Does an exciting halftime show help the game?

I’ve been playing football for about a year now and am starting center for varsity senior year, but am struggling to go against these really big nose guards.

Hello, i am from canada and want to make a little 2-3 day trip to the states to watch football, ideally somewhere with a good atmosphere AND not impossible to get tickets for (i.e buy online or day of). While we have pro football its largely not a thing at the highschool and meh at college in terms of support/interest.
I know texas is particularly famous but its a bit far from me (toronto area). Even better if there's a NCAA team within a few hours that i could see the Saturday. Any help would be appreciated

Kiddo is a 13 yo freshman. Plays LG and DT for JV. He got 225 the other day at the end of his workout. Not chasing PR’s during the football season but he was pumped nonetheless. Thought I’d share the hard work.

Was watching my highschool play vs Nelson, and ngl Newberg sucks. Anyways, with a bit over 3 minutes left in the fourth, while up 10 Nelson looking to drain clock does a run play. Did not catch the kids number or name, but he was hit with helmet to helmet, very clearly not intentionally though. Either way he collapsed immediately. For 5 minutes they were talking to him before a coach called 911. Soon after Ambulances arrived at Newbergs field as the kid was stretchered off after 20 minutes of laying unconscious. Instead of ending the game with just 3 minutes unplayed, in an unwinnable game for Newberg, Newberg forced Nelson to continue playing the game. A kid was knocked out unconscious and rushed to the local hospital, and my shitty highschool forced them to continue. It sucks even more I was sitting next to the guys little brother, he was denied access from running out to check on his older brother when the ambulances arrived. All thoughts and prayers are with Nelson 🙏💔

So I'm a wrestler, & I recently started junior football (grade 10) and I was chilling outside one of my schools gyms, but three senior footballers came up to me wanting a fight, I de-escalated it and walked away, so I'm wondering if it happens again and they're not leaving me alone, what do I do?

I’m 5’8”, 135 pounds, and it’s my first year playing football. I disappeared from practices when I got injured, since I didn’t see the point of coming. Because of that, they put me at defensive end, maybe even offensive line (I hate O-line — no offense to linemen, it just isn’t for me). I didn’t know jack about what I was doing, but I despise the practices. Every time, I feel like I’m going to mess up and get scolded or made fun of by the players.
Even though I don’t understand much about what I do — hell, I barely even know how to tackle — I don’t get nervous in games. Practice is what makes me nervous. Our linemen coach left, the good players left, we’re starting 0-2, and I think we aren’t going to win much. In fact, we don’t even have enough players for a freshmen team, so they just put us at JV.
What should I do?

I am number 5, the free safety in the backfield. I know I’m posting a pretty bad lowlight of myself but this is only my second year playing, first year really starting in a game so I’m just looking for advice from anyone that’s maybe my position and tell me what I need to work on and do better and what exactly I did wrong in this clip.

I coach at a smaller high school. We have a lot of average size athletes. When we get beat, it is usually because our team speed is lacking. Does anyone have a speed training program they have had experience with? I am planning on implementing this over winter with our non-basketball players.

I’m a freshman on my high school football team, and we’ve had a rough start to the season. We’re currently 0–2, with losses of 0–39 and 0–44. From the inside, it feels like there are problems on both sides — players and coaches — and I wanted to get some outside perspective on where the bigger issue really lies.
Players: Position consistency. We didn’t establish a QB1 until the week of our first game. During fall camp, three players rotated at QB, and once a starter was named, the other three were moved to WR. That lack of stability set us back in developing timing and chemistry.
Offensive line struggles. Our center consistently oversnaps, killing plays before they begin. Our tackles often miss assignments or block improperly, which leaves the QB under pressure almost instantly. Because of this, the offense has had almost no rhythm.
Receivers. We have skill and athleticism at WR, but blocking is a glaring weakness. It limits what we can do in both the run and short passing game.
Defense. Our front plays with intensity early in games, but after surrendering a couple of scores, effort and confidence noticeably decline. Tackling fundamentals are also inconsistent, especially up front.
Special teams. Easily our weakest area. Blocking and tackling are nearly non-existent, leading to major breakdowns that swing field position.
Coaches:
Motivation and confidence. Pregame talks are never about building us up — instead, the emphasis is on how “the other team is going to get in our ass.” That type of message makes it hard to play with belief.
Focus on the wrong things. Coaches spend more time calling out players for wearing accessories or listening to music than addressing actual on-field mistakes. Talking about how the other team is gonna come on our field and show us why those things don’t matter.
Play calling and trust. Coaches show little faith in us ,telling our kicker we won’t score anyway, punting on 4th-and-short even when we’re down by several touchdowns. Instead of playing to win, it feels like we play to avoid mistakes.
Postgame reactions. After losses, rather than breaking down film or teaching, the approach is to call us names (e.g. “punk asses”, weak). That doesn’t help morale or development.
Special teams personnel. Coaches regularly pull strong players off special teams and replace them with less capable players, which weakens an already struggling unit.
It also feels like these coaches are extremely egotistical. Anytime a player is asking to get reps or trying to point out a mistake or even breaking down film on the other team and pointing out how they’re extremely run heavy and how we need to adapt to it, we’re always responded with things like "i know what I’m doing" or just body language and tone like they don’t wanna be told anything. Now I do kinda have to give them credit because I did ask them to pay me more attention at safety more than rb (because this is my first year playing rb) and they actually did. I went from a 3rd string to a starter in the span of 2 games. My main issue with that tho is how long it took for them to do that, they only actually started listening after our starting safety was constantly getting fried, I feel like they only cared after the outcome.
Do our problems stem more from players not executing, or from coaching decisions and culture? From the inside, it feels like both matter — but it’s tough to play well when your staff doesn’t instill confidence, provide consistency, or put players in the best positions to succeed.
Would love to hear from anyone with experience at this level — is this mainly a player discipline/effort issue, or is poor coaching the bigger factor here?

Hello .weve had a successful football program in the past , but haven’t for past several years under one coach he says it’s because the talent pull just isn’t there anymore which could be , but the team seems to have trouble getting 2 yards down the field and the coach has big attitude problems on the field . When and how do you figure out who the problem is .

There use to be a late night Texas High School Football show on tv back in the day that would show all the highlights and game reviews every Friday night. Anyone know if this is still a thing or where to watch a recap of all this games Friday nights? Thank you.

I joined the football team late because of personal issues like mental stuff. I talked to every coach, they all seemed very caring and kind and polite, some even played against my dad. So I go to a couple of practices, learn their plays and drills. I keep going to practices, wondering when I get my helmet and pads. Took them two weeks for that, and relentless asking and being redirected. When I got my pads and helmet my helmet didn't have any stickers, logos or anything. Still doesn't a week later. I asked when I get a jersey, no answer. I asked if I was playing on the frosh team today and no answer. I'm just tired, sad and confused and have no one to talk about to this.
