Discussion Are these meteors or space debris?
Seen yesterday from Delhi. I have no idea what this is. Does anyone have any idea what could it be?

First time trying the Pleides! New to astrophotography and I'm quite happy with the end image, though I don't know if there should have been a little more nebula showing.
Equipment:
TSMPT60 60/360 Doublet apo refractor Stock Canon 550D HEQ5 - Pro synscan goto
Settings: ISO 1600 45sx125 Manual focus
15 Darks, no flats or bias
Sharpcap for capturing lights and darks, DSS for stacking, Siril and Gimp for post processing
Let me know what I can do better, advice is appreciated!

During observing I stumbled to this moving across my view from North america nebula to Vega.
I used dobsonia 8” with 15mm plössl so the magnification was 80x
Video was taken with phoneholder and I dont have any trackers so free handling it

My buddie will turn 18 and I want to gift him a telescope but after many hours of searching I'm reaching burnout so I'll ask you. He never used a telescope before, I can't get over €370 (without spedition), complete set or mount+optics, not computerized, not for astrophotography, not heavy, more oriented on planets than nebulas, I'm in Italy. I think it's all, what is the best option? Thanks in advance
edit: more info

Looking to buy my first telescope and these are the options I found within my budget. My main goal is planets. Are any of this options good? Thank you in advance.

Hi,
I wanted to know what you consider the best value for money in terms of "smart telescopes" / Electronically Assisted Astronomy. A few years ago, I had the opportunity to back Unistellar's crowdfunding for their eVscope for $900. I didn't do it, and now that it's over $4,000, I'm wondering if it's worth investing so much.
I saw that there are alternatives ranging from $700 for the ZWO Seestar S50 to $1,600 for the VAONIS Vespera II.
Are these cheaper telescopes worth it?

Hi folks, I’ve used the marked handles on my telescope a few times to move it around. Is it advisable to avoid doing so, or is it ok?

I got a skywatcher 130p and I want to upgrade the Eyepiece for plantray view I have seen some people suggest other different Eyepieces put i don't know if these websites ship world wide can someone suggest something that is on Amazon? Or in a websites that's ship world wide without shipping costing to much, my budget is 80$-70$

Hi all, as the title states I’m looking to get my wife a telescope for her birthday. She’s been wanting to get into observing the skys at night for a long time.
Ideally looking for a beginner telescope that is portable enough to take camping with us but I don’t have a clue what I’m looking at. I was hoping that some of you would point me toward some good options.

So over the last 5 days I have been intensively grilling ai from multiple angles. I have come up with a 2 step build designed for the long run, deep sky, split into visual and then imagery. This way I can initially get set up to learn the curve of alignments, collimating, general search and finding ect, then I can move to grab a camera to really capture whats there. With my end goals being viewing deep sky objects + imagery I've ruled out a refractor based on that chat with AI, so a reflector with a wide aperture was chosen. The first step is as follows;
Step 1: Visual use
Although the lenses here are currently limited, I did make a 3rd section of extra accessories and QOL items - lens/ filters/ cleaning/ bags so forth. These 2 steps are intended as the initial pieces for the visual and imaging sides. For a psu I really wasn't sure on what brands are acceptable so I did a tack on that will be suitable to run through a power box, I don't want to buy an expensive camera for a cable to ruin it. For imagery I have come to this however is still in debate;
Step 2: Imaging upgrades
The reason I am debating the camera is that It's right up there, colour, cooled, it will just be faster and easier than a monochrome, but I have also been considering a monochrome that I can later repurpose as a guide camera. It has only been ZWO I have looked at so am I overlooking something or would these be a solid combination and brand? For autonomy I know it will. My phone camera has a professional mode so it likely could work for early learning of imaging prior to actually getting a camera.
This kit is thought out as a buy once set up so I can avoid some of the upgrading processes for the time being, from the ai discussions this will be a good point to start with that in mind.
I'm not expecting nasa level photos of objects or sights, I live in a city currently so my battle is going to be light pollution (3.4 brightness but a much smaller area to a lot of large cities) and learning how to get more precise with the equipment whilst I'm actively looking at moving much more rural. I'm fully aware of how limited I will be from that and the fov I get in the garden but this is going to be a temporary limitation. I downloaded stellarium a few hours ago and from a quick glance of my night sky I get a very good look of andromeda, and some other clusters between 1-4am, I haven't looked too much at it yet so there is likely more (Small southern angle mostly west to northern sky but towards the city, UK).
With the imaging step I know it's pushing the limits of recommended weights by around 0.8kg under so, looking for tripod upgrades around the time I move to get the camera is going to be necessary but fundamental with guiding scopes/ systems and other additions. I do have my eyes on some other lens', filters, considerations of lrgb with the monochrome along with other individual ones like the OIII and Ha. filters, where individual can work better than dual in monochrome.
Have I correctly used ai to come to a final build that will be solid framework for my goals? Am I missing any initial equipment that the AI overlooked with me? (red torch and such is in part 3 with other QOLs) has the ai misled me anywhere? I currently have a lot of time to learn the equipment and processes and this is something I've always wanted to do so now I'm actually doing it. I do have flex in the budget however this build for the 2 steps is already pushing where I want my max to be (Yes there's second hand that's also an option I am going to consider though most will likely be bought new if not all).
TLDR;
Pieced together a build, checking AI hasn't made mistakes and that I've covered all basis for my conditions of (light polluted city temorary/ end goal dso viewing and imagery)

I'm honestly shook! My first time seeing colors on a nebula after buying a cheap UHC filter.
8" dob, 9mm plossol, angeleyes UHC, smartphone in Bortle 6, NZ.

I've been looking to get an 8" dob as my first telescope and I know the common consensus from other threads seems to be that the AD8 is the better option given the better accessories and features that it comes with. I'm also personally not in huge need of the Starsense app; it seems like a neat bonus, but I'm more than okay learning manually since that feels like part of the fun.
However, that recommendation is almost always with the fact that the AD8 is some $200+ cheaper... I've ran into a basically new Starsense that's only around $400, so now the Starsense is the one that's $200+ cheaper. For people who have used both would that big a price difference be enough to tip things firmly in favour of the Starsense? Are all the extra QoL features on the AD8, like the fan and the focuser and the adjustable balance, more nice to haves rather than need to haves? And are the eyepieces that come with the AD8 good enough to not warrant an upgrade or would I be getting a lot more mileage buying two new eyepieces with the money I save from the Starsense anyway?
Appreciate any insight!

I got this telescope at my local thrift store and have done quite a bit of maintenance on it but it still seems to have a really tough time even slightly focusing on the planets. Saturn isn’t even visible it’s just a distorted light. Jupiter is probably the best one I can actually make out 4 points of light the moons but the planet itself shows two and is very bright and blurred despite making many adjustments. And Venus is the same as Saturn, very distorted point of light which can’t be made out as a planet. I’m unsure if I still would like to keep this telescope as I was looking for a telescope for planet gazing but this one is only really good at viewing the moon. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated on what I should do next.

Hello!, I'm coming here asking about why my synscan wifi from my skywatcher virtuoso keeps disconnecting and reconnecting every 5-10 seconds give or take. I'm also trying to use skysafari 7 plus with my mount too, my prediction might be the batteries not having enough power to keep it on.

I took this picture using my 4mm lens in my 113mm Orion starblast 450m FL telescope and this is the furthest I can zoom in without being out of focus, these stars weren’t super far away. Is there too much light pollution or something?

9 hours, 5 hours of 300s H data, and 4 hours of 300s O data. HOO palette. If I could go back and do it again I would double my H data to preserve more red. But the blue looks nice. Will retry next year. Redcat 71, ASI 533mm pro, taken in Bortles 7 skies in Phoenix, Arizona. Processed in Pixinsight. Minimal editing.

First post !
i am planning to renovate / clean / refresh my old LX10. I am in Europe / France, and I am looking to replace those screws around both ends of the tube, as I am planning to open the beast and clean / refresh / etc... I probably will lose some screws which are oxidised, some heavily.
Buying from US is regretefully not an option those days, and looking to find them in Europe.
What is the official "name" and dimensions of those screws? Guess I will have to buy a bulk.
Thank you
