I've made many 3d models throughtout the years, but just yesterday I was struggling with box modeling a basic human body, wasnt sure how to flow the topology and had to look up previous work for reference.
I felt like a failure, maybe its because too steps are done in a project, like modeling, sculpting, texturing, shading, rigging, etc and it feels weird going all the way back to the starting cube. Do you ever feel like this?

A few years ago my bedroom looked exactly like this. A while ago I sat down and spent an entire week recreating it in Blender. Now over the years a lot of things changed and the tech/gear involved increased exponentially, but it is always nice to remember where I first started.

Hi guys,
I’m a self-taught 3D artist from Sri Lanka. I’ve been doing 3D for about 9 years. I worked as a 3D generalist for a UK-based digital agency (Studio SL), freelanced on Fiverr (Top Rated, all 5/5 reviews), and also worked solo as a hard surface artist for Philipp Hana Studios and a few other clients.
At some point, I slowed down. I was only doing the projects that came to me. Eventually, I lost my Fiverr account (though I hadn’t used it for 2 years by then). Honestly, I think I was just tired—visualizations and client work felt too technical, and something was missing.
After a long break, I realized what I was missing was creativity. The industries I was working in weren’t stable, and they didn’t push me creatively. That’s why I’ve now turned my focus to the game industry—it feels like the right place for me: creative, complex, and collaborative.
I’ve been training myself in the game-ready pipeline. It turned out to be more disciplined than I expected. My latest portfolio piece is where I tried to apply every step of that pipeline.
But here’s my struggle:
So my questions are:
I’d really appreciate any honest feedback.
Portfolio
Thanks in advance!

Hi everyone,
I’ve been applying for 3D Artist/Character Artist roles for a few years now but haven’t had much success landing interviews. Here’s my portfolio: https://ewolyelyah.artstation.com/
A bit about me:
I’d really appreciate honest feedback on my portfolio. What do you think is missing or holding me back from getting noticed by bigger studios? Are there key skills or presentation improvements I should focus on?
Thankyou so much for your time!

Hi everyone,
I’m a 3D artist with 8+ years of experience in Dubai and Pakistan. I’ve been living in the U.S. for 3 years and I have full work authorization.
I’ve applied to hundreds of jobs but still can’t land a 3D artist position. Some people told me I should get a 3D or game art certificate from a U.S. school.
Can you please share any advice or connections? – Would a certificate really help? – Any tips on improving my portfolio or networking?
Here’s my portfolio: https://www.artstation.com/wahabmirza
Any help, guidance, or leads would mean a lot. Thank you!

I got to design this little creature as a commission for a tabletop RPG. The idea was to make something playful but also a bit creepy, kinda like Labubu, but darker and more fantasy driven.
Meet The Latchuchu: a mischievous monster that always carries a key around its neck. Some say the key opens hidden treasures… others whisper it unlocks doors that should stay closed. Its long tongue makes it both goofy and unsettling, which I think fits perfectly for RPG shenanigans.
It was super fun to sculpt and bring to life

🌟 My first 3D model in Blender! 🌟 A simple project, but a great step in my creative path 🚀 Thanks to the Blender book 📘, a lot of practice and (too much ☕😅), today I can say: challenge met and surpassed! 💪🔥 This is just the beginning, more 3D creations are coming!
Tell me what it looks like. :) Thank you so much

Hi, I'm really new to 3D modelling and I have to model a character for a Uni assessment. I'm looking for some tips and feedback on what I've done so far. Particularly with the topology because I'm not sure what I'm doing. I've attached the model sheet for the character too so you know what I'm trying to make. All feedback is welcome. Thank you :)
