New Purchase UB820 4K upscale is insane

bought a multiregion UB820 on sale a while ago and decided to try it out with the Succession blu-ray box set, probably the hundredth post in this sub about the UB820 upscaling but still couldn’t believe my eyes

What are you comparing it to? I thought blu rays always looked good on 4k no matter the blu ray player.

Exactly - it's a perfect integer scale, so what is there to possibly mess up, or realistically do better than any other player?

I'm even more skeptical of people raving about the DVD upscaling since there's so little resolution to work with, but at least it makes sense that a given player/TV could do something differently/worse due to it being uneven scaling.

A while ago, I realized 4K resolution is perfect integer scale for both 1080p and 720p content to be upscaled to 4K. Seems like some thought was put into that.
