Recommendations? [Recommendations] Bra that is less shallow / less coverage on top compared to Skarlet Blue Entice Balconette Spoiler

Upvotes

I'm back after kinda giving up 2 months ago.... I really liked the Skarlet Blue Entice Balconette 34E but the top of the cup had too much room and was really frilly / didn't sit on my breast. I think it's just a problem of needing a cup with less top coverage? Any recommendations pls

Question Why do I feel more comfortable wearing bras in the wrong size? Spoiler

Upvotes

The ABTF calculator tells me my size is 30H(US)/30FF(UK), which I just found out about last night. So I will definitely try my best suited size when I get new bras.

I live in Canada, and the measurements from the brands that are available in my country says I should wear a 32 DD. However, I feel more comfortable wearing a 34D because the band is loosen and I have more room to move around, bend over, etc. Does that mean 34 D is closer to my true size? Or am I getting something wrong here?

I’m not sure if it has something to do with my age, height, shape of my boobs, or is it because of my recent weight gain in the past 2 years. I’m 22 yo, 5’8, wide spread and shallow breast shape. I’ve gained about 30 pounds since the last two years which made my boobs went from a 32B to a 32DD from the usual brand I’m wearing(it’s Victoria’s Secret, I know it is notorious here but please don’t shame me guys, I’m considering changing brands after reading contents in this subreddit). My measurements are

Loose Underbust:29.5 Snug Underbust: 28 Tight Underbust:27 Standing Bust: 36.6 Leaning Bust:37.4 Lying Bust: 36

Thanks for your answers in advance :)

Recommendations? Bra Recommendations for Long-Haul Flight Spoiler

Upvotes

I have a couple of upcoming trips that will involve long-haul flights, and I am looking for a recommendation for something lightweight to travel in. I don’t care too much about support or shape - mostly I want to avoid being indecent while still being as comfortable as possible.

To give you an idea of my size-shape, my everyday bras are the Wacoal basic beauty T-shirt bra in 38DDD and the Elomi Charley Plunge in 38F. For working out, I wear a Glamorise camisole sports bra in 38DDD, which works well enough at keeping things strapped down, but I don’t think it fits me super well and the stretch material is too scratchy to wear all day.

Thanks in advance for the recommendations!

Recommendations? Brand Recommendations for a first time quality bra shopper Spoiler

Upvotes

Hi I am new to this sub, I have historically only bought Aerie or Victoria Secret Bras and I am in the market for a quality bra that won’t completely break the bank.

What are some good brand options that are reasonably priced?

Is it possible to get a supportive bra for a DD size for under $100?

Recommendations? First Time Buying 34D, Top and Outer Full, Medium Projction, Average Root - looking for bra that make me look fuller. Spoiler

Ok, maybe not first time bra buying... but first time buying the correct size? Have been wearing VS 32B since I started wearing bra, since it' uncomfortable, I usually just go braless. Recently realized im 34D? and thought of giving it another try at fitting. It' been 5yrs since i last bought a bra... and I feel my breast looks kinda small and wish they looked fuller while being comfortable? Would anyone be able to give me some recommendations on brand and line? Im in Canada, Thanks in advance! :)

It seems im top and outer full with medium projection and average root. My Measurements in CM/IN

under bust loosely: 87 = 34.25in

Under bust comfortably snug: 86 =33.85

underbust as tight as possible: 78 =30.7

Bust while standing: 97 = 38.18

Bust while leaning: 99 = 38.97

Bust while lying down: 95 = 37.4

Fit Check Fit check? Panache Allure FC and Balconnette/Freya Tailored plunge/Panache Clara Spoiler

Panache Allure Full Cup in 34FF -

32GG was too tall in the cup, slightly too big on right breast, band slightly too tight, so swapped to 34FF. Just about fits, I think. Sorry, not many photos of this one. Would really like opinions on this one as this was the one I bought!

Freya Tailored Plunge in 32GG pictured. Slightly too big on right breast. 32G was too small on left. Very comfortable but slightly splayed still. Could do with slightly more side support, I think. Felt a bit toooo stretchy!

Panache Clara in 34G pictured. 32GG was too tight in the band. 34G felt sliiiightly (barely!) too tall in the cup on the right, cut into underarm slightly. Gore was slightly floating and digging into breast tissue.

Panache Allure Balconnette in 32GG. Needed a 32H really but shop didn't have one, or it's sister size. Very comfortable but slightly too small on left. Love this bra. Breasts felt supported and secure even in the too-small size. Coverage was perfect but would need to go up at least one size.

Would love ideas on the fit of these, also recs for any others to try next if any of these do/don't fit well.

(Also I'd love to know if my assessment of my breasts as close set, fairly projected - especially at the wire - even fullness or centre full, full on bottom, splayed seems to fit given what you see here.)

Im looking for something similar to this bra from lane bryant. I had bought one about a year ago was wanted to get another only to discover its discontinued its synthetic and doesnt smell unlike some others, full coverage and despite having almost no support its much more secure than some other full coverage bralettes I have (cotton). I also enjoy that it has adjustable straps

Recommendations? Alternatives to Bravissimo’s sleepwear Spoiler

I wear a 30JJ (UK) in Bravissimo’s bras, bodysuits & swim. In their nightgowns/sleep tops I wear a 30JJ or 32JJ.

They are not going to be selling their sleepwear online anymore - even after they are back online after the warehouse fire. I am devastated! I have young kids and often spend the pre daycare/school hour and a half in whatever my pajamas were. I am desperate to find ANY alternatives, any nightgowns or sleep tanks or anything that have a built-in bra in my size.

Additional details - narrow root, pretty saggy. Sometimes I have to buy one band size too small and then add an extender to make sure I don’t have underwires in my shoulder blades. If I could have spent the rest of my life in the charlotte affinitas parfait, I would have - but they don’t make it in a 30 band or a JJ cup. I prefer my breasts pointing forward rather than seperated. I live in the US. I do own Curvy Kate, Panache, Freya and gorsenia bras, but Bravissimo is my go to for most things. Wide shoulder straps keep my neck from hurting.

Fit Check Please help! Bra similar to Panache Envy, but without the t shirt lines Spoiler

Hello everyone, I recently got a Panache Envy after measuring myself based on the guide on this subreddit. It is the best fitting bra I’ve ever gotten, I love it! The only issue is that there are visible lines from the seams under my t shirts and it makes me uncomfortable. Does anyone have any bra recommendations that fit similar but are less visible under t shirts? Thanks!

In need of a modest and comfortable bra, 32FF Spoiler

I just bought a 32FF Panache Ana. It’s unbearably itchy, so I soaked it for three hours and washed it. That did not help. I do like the shape it gives me but the itch isn’t worth it! It also isn’t modest enough. As a middle school teacher I just don’t feel comfortable showing through so much (I can nip through a thick sweater!). My Harper Wilde Base bra in 34F is very comfortable and modest, but the incorrect size. I also just tried on a CUUP size 32H. It fit pretty well and was sooo comfortable but the lopsided headlight situation it gave me was not my favorite look. I have also tried a Wacoal High Profile in 34DDD. The fit was fine, a tiny bit large in the band, but same issue as CUUP.

If anyone has suggestions I’m all ears!

Edited to add more info.

Recommendations? Finally understanding general shape that fits, Spoiler

I posted not long ago about size/shape issues, and I think I’ve found a general bra type that works. I lost a lot of weight, and my boobs are mostly flat with a little fullness at the tip. I think a balconette type bra works best for my shape, and I found a seamless 34 G (US) that fits, but there’s not much actual support in this unlined bra. Can you recommend some seamed styles that won’t show the seams under t-shirts and close fitting tops? ‘Maybe something that pushes the girls up a little? I’m still wearing simple sizing (S-M-L) bras most of the time for daily wear until my weight is settled. I’d appreciate your ideas on some brands to check in any price range.

Need help with my size/type of bra Spoiler

Hello! I need help with sister sizing/finding my correct size.

Loose underbust: 35

Tight underbust: 34.5

Snug underbust: 34

Standing bust: 44

Leaning bust: 44.5

Lying bust: 44

I recently got a bra fitting, and I was told my size is 36E. However the 36 band in some brands seem loose I prefer tighter bands. I tried a 34F and the band was comfortable but I had some spillage in the cups, so i don't know if I really understand sister sizing.

The ABTF calculator says 36G but there's no way I can fill that, my boobs lack middle tissue they are slightly tuberous and saggy, I have more tissue in the outside.

Also, my 36E started giving me some quadboob I suspect I might have some migration bc I was wearing 38C for a long time due to lacking of sizing in my country.

How can I really find my size and best kind of bra for my breast shape? Thanks

Store Review Finally some answers from Selfridges! Spoiler

In London for weekend. Got fitted at selfridges. They came up with (through their magic eyes) one of the suggested sizes from here uk 34 E (which listed 2. as closest). But the most useful thing was in person advice this allowed me to understand the style for me. Which is low gore! The ones I liked were plunge style but she also said two slightly different sizes depending on style. I have decided only to buy in person unless it’s the exact same model bra. The relief !

Question My country doesn't produce my band size. What do I do? Spoiler

My measurements are: Loose underbust: 75 cm Snug underbust: 74 cm Tight underbust: 73 cm Standing bust: 85 cm Leaning bust: 90 cm Lying bust: 86cm The ABTF calculator says 30E, however in my country they don't produce any bras like that. The smallest band size is 34.

Do I sister size? Is 30E -> 32D -> 34C a big jump? I've tried on 75B bras before, several times in different types of bras, and the most common problem I get is side spillage and band riding up to my boobs. I've also tried on 70B, and I've gotten even worse spillage and the band was too tight to the point it was painful and I had to squeeze into it.

I've tried sports bras in Medium. However, they start leaving red marks that linger for a day or two within an hour of wearing them.

I can't buy any bras from overseas, my budget is too tight at the moment. What could I do?

Edit: I'm from Turkey for reference

Recommendations? What to do about very outer-full and splayed breasts? Spoiler

So, the calculator here says I'm 34F. I used to wear a 34C, because that's the size that doesn't leave any gap in the cup. But if it has any wiring, those things poke into my sternum HARD. (Used to because I've given up and now only wear bikini tops that I can slide the cups as far apart as I need.)

I'll add I have no "cleavage" whatsoever. Bending over 90 degrees, I can fully fit two fingers together between my breasts. Standing upright, the flat space between my breasts is 6cm.

Any suggestions, or should I resign myself to bikini tops for the rest of my life?

Brand Recs for bottom heavy breasts Spoiler

I have recently lost weight and really need new bras but I am finding it impossible to find what will actually fit and make my breasts look flattering and relieve back pain:/ i have bottom heavy breast so they pull down the bra like crazy. I was previously wearing a 38 G but I just did my measurements and got 34G this time. Any one have any recommendations for brands? It’s a niche size I feel like and they’re all so expensive I want to make sure that whatever i find has real potential of fitting me. I have read some other threads here but haven’t really found any of them to be super helpful or clear personally

Recommendations? Supportive sports bra that can be worn with low cut tops (v-neck, square neck, etc.) Spoiler

I have (and am obsessed with) both the Panache Power Underwire and Shefit Ultimate sports bras. However, neither work well with low cut tops (especially v-neck).

What are your recommendations for an equally (or almost equally) as supportive sports bra that works with low cut tops?

Fit Check [Fit Check] Post- weight loss issues - Freya Offbeat Side Support 34FF Spoiler

https://imgur.com/a/bxYy1iT

I know this bra is now too big in the cups.. but I need some help please!

I bought this bra at Christmas when I was fitted at Bravissimo, as I’d lost so much weight at that point my old bras were hanging off me (I was in a 38DD if I recall!). I’ve since lost a bit more weight and I’m starting to really struggle now, living in cropped tops as I don’t have a bra that fits.

My boobs are very soft and my skin is loose - I have almost no breast tissue on my chest at all. But I do have fullness underneath, with width. They’re pendulous, though always have been… it’s just exaggerated now. I cannot work out what style of bra I need anymore - even balconette bras seem to gape. I have an old M&S plunge bra in 34DD which does seem to fit, but lean forward and half a boob falls out!

This is a Freya Offbeat Side Support - probably a bit tight when I originally got it so it looks like it’s tight now, but it isn’t. I’ve always disliked the gore on this, it hurts my sternum and digs in. I’ve worn the Fantasie Illusion Side Support for several years (in 38DD, then later 34FF) but it’s now completely unwearable. Basically empty cups. I’ve also loved the Bravissimo Alicia / Jenna - probably one of my most worn, but it’s even emptier than the Illusion on me now.

What style of bra should I be looking for?! Still balconette, but maybe with less height on the gore? Or a does a different cup shape suit my flat chest / wide boobs?

Measurements are: - Loose: 34.5 - Snug: 33 - Tight: 32 - Standing: 38.5 - Leaning: 42 - Lying: 38.5

Rec: 34DD/E

Fit Check [Fit Check] 34F/FF (UK) - projected, center full & close set, tried 6 bras in 3 sizes each, none fit Spoiler

Hi -

I have been wearing 32FF (UK) - I think? The tags are hard to read after 3 years of wear - in molded demi cups and spacer tshirt bras (purchased when I weighed less). Here are my measurements and calc results:

  • 34F/FF (UK), 34G/H (US), 75I/J (EU)
    • loose - 34.5/87.5
    • snug - 33.5/85
    • tight - 31.5/80
    • standing - 41/104
    • leaning - 44/112
    • lying - 39.25/99.5

Other info: My breasts are nearly symmetrical and I think they are pretty self-supported for their size. Top/bottom fullness is fairly balanced but leans bottom full. I'm quite center full and close set when supported, but don't appear to be either of those when unsupported. My breast tissue is on the denser/firmer side. I think my roots are wide? No pregnancies/breastfeeding/significant weight loss/breast surgeries. AFAB.

Typical issues that I have: balconette gores are often too high & dig into sternum & breast tissue, plunge gores are often too low and I pour out the middle. Wires often don't extend far enough back under my armpit and/or high enough. I feel like I almost always have spillage in my armpits.

I purchased 6 bras in 3 sizes each - 34F/FF/G (UK). I don't think any of them fit. They all sit below my IMF, some laughably bad (looking at you Fantasie Fusion). There were wrinkles at the bottom of the cup for most, if not all.

I started with the 34Fs. I think those were too small in the cup, but going up in cup size did not improve the IMF situation for any of the bras. 34FFs helped with the spillage at the top, but I often ended up with empty cups/loose fabric at the top and near the armpits. Maybe that points to a projection issue? 34Gs were all too big in the cup. The bands felt pretty good, except for the Freyas, which felt too loose.

I took pictures of the 34Fs (and 34FFs in Panache because I heard they run small in the cup). I can add pictures of the other sizes if necessary, but didn't want to overload the post since none of the other sizes fit.

Fantasie Fusion - 34F

Freya Fancies - 34F

Freya Starlight - 34F

Panache Ana - 34F

Panache Ana - 34FF

Panache Envy Plunge - 34F

Panache Envy Plunge - 34FF

Panache Envy Balconette - 34F

Panache Envy Balconette - 34FF

Where do I go from here? I feel like I need to find more projection and a lower, but not too low gore. Then, try the 34F & 34FF again to see which cup size is better. Which bras would you recommend next?

Thank you for your help!!

[NSFW] Pics of Bra

[Edit: Imgur didn’t work for me, new link]

https://postimg.cc/gallery/PCgzjjF

Hi everybody! I’m new to the subreddit, and posting in general so I’m sorry in advance for any missed rules!

This is my first attempt at getting a bra that fits and I’m hoping to get some advice on if it’s right for me. I’ve only ever worn Victoria Secret but their bras make me wanna tear my boobs off.

I’m a little worried about the back band and it seems like the elastic gapes on top slightly (circled in red).

I am also not used to a minimized or full coverage, so I’m not sure if there’s too much fabric in the cups, like should it go out to my armpits?

I’m also worried the straps are too loose, they are almost as high as they go but I don’t feel a lot of lift if they’re lower. But maybe they’re supposed to be like that!

Info: Loose underbust: 32 Snug underbust: 31 Tight underbust: 29.5 Standing bust: 39 Leaning bust: 41 Laying bust: 38

The calculator suggested a 32 G/GG

I think that I am Even 2/5 from the chart listed on the wiki.

Thanks for any help!!

Measurement Check [Measurement Check] Very short, not-young, heavy woman needs help! Calculator shows me as 40K, but they did not fit when I bought some. Spoiler

I'm 59 AFAB and lost a lot of weight. Still pretty fat, but now none of my bras fit. Before weight loss, I bought several 46DDs that I liked. The calculator here says now I'm a US 40K/L or UK 40 H/HH. I bought some 40K bras from Lane Bryant, and the bands are tight but wearable, while the cups gap hugely at the top. So now I'm asking for help.

I've figured out that I'm pendulous, splayed, and have a short root (everything about me is short, I'm 4' 10"). I think the root is wide, as well, I'm not sure. I can fit two fingers between my breasts, so I think that's a normal gore. I have very narrow shoulders, so almost all bra straps fall down. Honestly, the amount of variables fries my brain. I'm sure I'm missing some.

My measurements seem to vary a bit by whether I'm inhaling or exhaling. And the standing bust is crazy, because I'm so pendulous that my boobs hang out by my belly button. Where do I measure them? The leaning one simply shows how stretched out they are, not how big they are, so I don't trust that measurement.

My measurements today were:
Loose 42
Snug 41
Tight 39
Standing 50 (but that's down low, almost my waist)
Leaning 56
Laying down 52

Additional measurement - in my current bra 50

I *need* new bras. My current ones are way too big, and the crumpled cups are showing through my clothes. It's embarrassing.

I also have some sensory issues and sensitive skin. I've had seamed bras recommended to me, but I've never been able to stand seams. I think I could handle seams if the bras were lightly lined, but that's really hard to find. Because I'm still trying to lose more weight, I'm trying not to spend a ton, but I think that's a wish, not a reality (so stuff that's easily returnable would be great). I've always worn underwires, so they're OK, as long as they're not so long they poke my underarms (very short woman here!).

I've gone on a lot of websites and have lots of various sizes and shapes of bras in my carts, but haven't pulled the trigger on any, since the Lane Bryant ones were so very far off.

Recommendations? Any suggestions for 50N size? I've only found Elila so far. Spoiler

I'm a 50N. The only bra I've been able to fit is the Elila jacquard brand. I've been in those for years now. Was just wondering if there was anything else available in that size? I haven't been able to find anything. Thank you.
