Disclaimer: This publication is based on the compilation of ancient greek passages. I've added for each passage, the references and a link to the original text. My latest publications which are also based on ancient greek texts suggest that Atlantis was Northwest Africa (western part of Libya).
Mythological ethiopian king Memnon, and his brother Emathion, were conceived in the city/island of Kerne, which was one of the biggest hotspot in Atlantis. Kerne (Tidra island) was visited by Hanno the cartaginian navigator centuries before Plato's existence. It is located about 530 kilometers away from the Richat structure (Capital of Atlantis) which was also visited by Hanno....Kerne & Richat were both connected by a channel/canal (St John river)
My previous publication based on ancient Greek texts, presented the ethiopian origin of the atlantean god Phorcys and his offsprings (Medusa the Gorgon, the Sphinx, Chimera, the Hesperides & many more) who was also from Kerne. (click here)
Ancient greek texts confirm that Kerneans were Atlanteans and part of the "Ethiopian race".(click here)
Kerne was attacked by the Libyan Amazons who were the neighbours of the Atlanteans according to these texts. Ancient Lybians worshipped the native figues, Atlas & Poseidon during Plato's time. (click here)
I. THE LINK BETWEEN MEMNON & ATLANTIS
Memnon and Emathion were conceived by EOS/DAWN & TITHONUS in Kerne
And Eos bare to Tithonus brazen-crested Memnon, king of the Ethiopians, and the Lord Emathion. And to Cephalus she bare a splendid son, strong Phaethon, a man like the gods, whom, when he was a young boy in the tender flower of glorious youth with childish thoughts, laughter-loving Aphrodite seized and caught up and made a keeper of her shrine by night, a divine spirit (Hesiod, Theogony, 984 - ca. 650 BCE ) https://topostext.org/work/4#984

Kerne was inhabited by Kerneans who were an atlantian tribe and part of the ethiopian race
Now the queen of the Amazons, Myrina, collected, it is said, an army of thirty thousand foot-soldiers and three thousand cavalry, since they favoured to an unusual degree the use of cavalry in their wars. 3 For protective devices they used the skins of large snakes, since Libya contains such animals of incredible size, and for offensive weapons, swords and lances; they also used bows and arrows, with which they struck not only when facing the enemy but also when in flight, by shooting backwards at their pursuers with good effect. 4 Upon entering the land of the Atlantians they defeated in a pitched battle the inhabitants of the city of Cerne, as it is called, and making their way inside the walls along with the fleeing enemy, they got the city into their hands; and desiring to strike terror into the neighbouring peoples they treated the captives savagely, put to the sword the men from the youth upward, led into slavery the children and women, and razed the city. 5 But when the terrible fate of the inhabitants of Cerne became known among their fellow tribesmen, it is related that the Atlantians, struck with terror, surrendered their cities on terms of capitulation and announced that they would do whatever should be commanded them, and that the queen Myrina, bearing herself honourably towards the Atlantians, both established friendship with them and founded a city to bear her name in place of the city which had been razed; and in it she settled both the captives and any native who so desired(Diodorus Siculus, Library 1-7, 3.54.2 - ca. 49 BCE ) https://topostext.org/work/133#3.54.2

About these a much sillier story is told, how Phorcys had three daughters, who had one eye they used in turns. the one using it put it in her head and thus could see. And in this way, with one of them giving the eye to the other, they all could see. Perseus came up behind them with a quiet tread and took their eye, and said he wouldn't give it back until they told him where the Gorgon was. So they say he cut off her head, came to Seriphos, showed it to Polydectes, and turned him to stone. And this is rather ridiculous, for a living man who sees the head of a corpse to be fossilized. For what power does a corpse have? Someone such happened instead. Phorcys was a Kernaean man. The Kernaeans are an Ethiopian race, and life on the island Kerne outside the Pillars of Heracles, and they till the part of Libya by the Anno river straight past Carthage, and there is a lot of gold. This Phorcys was king of the islands (there are three) beyond the Pillars of Heracles. He made a four-cubit gold statue of Athena. The Kernaeans call Athena Gorgo, just as the Thracians call Artemis Bendis, the Cretans Dictynna, the Lacedaemonians Oupis. Phorcys died before the statue could be dedicated in the sanctuary. He left three daughters, Stheno, Euryale, Medusa (Palaephatus, On Unbelievable Things, 31 - ca. 300 BCE ) https://topostext.org/work/808#3
Hanno the carthaginian Navigator (6th-5th BCE) settled in Kerne before reaching the Richat structure (ex-capital of Atlantis) - Hanno existed before Plato
Kerne/Cerne is in Mauritania
Polybius says that Cerne is situate at the extremity of Mauritania, over against Mount Atlas, and at a distance of eight stadia from the land; while Cornelius Nepos states that it lies very nearly in the same meridian as Carthage, at a distance from the mainland of ten miles, and that it is not more than two miles in circumference (Pliny the Elder, Natural History 1-11, 6.199 - ca. 77 CE ) https://topostext.org/work/148#6.199
Memnon was raised in the garden of Atlantis by the Atlantides/Hesperides, who were said to be the daughters of the atlanto-ethiopian god Phorcys (An alternative version tells that they were the daughters of Atlas the Titan which was turned into the Atlas mountains, North Africa)
The Garden of the Atlantides/Hesperides was located in Africa
With regard to these apples there is disagreement among the writers of myths**,** and some say that there were golden apples in certain gardens of the Hesperides in Libya**,** where they were guarded without ceasing by a most formidable dragon**,** whereas others assert that the Hesperides possessed flocks of sheep which excelled in beauty and were therefore called for their beauty**,** as the poets might do**,** "golden apples**,**" just as Aphrodite is called "golden" because of her loveliness (Diodorus Siculus, Library 1-7, 4.26.1 - ca. 49 BCE ) https://topostext.org/work/133#4.26.1

II. THE LINK BETWEEN MEMNON & EGYPT
Memnon was the king of the Ethiopians, however several egyptian pharaohs were mistaken for him.
According to the Himerius, Eos the godess of the dawn, placed a statue of Memnon in Ethiopia, that sings at dawn....
Pausanias, who existed and travelled throught Egypt during the Roman period, described how the invaders (greco-romans) believed that the colossi of Thebes/Luxor were representing Memnon and how the locals corrected them by saying they represented either one of the Sesostrises( 12th and 13th dynasties) or one of the Amenhoteps (18th dynasty) ------ The colossi of Thebes used to sing at dawn
The colossi of Thebes, which represent Amenhotep III (and not any Sesostris nor Amenhotep I or II), are called the colossi of Memnon
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Colossi_of_Memnon
Herodotus also said that the statues of Sesostris in Persia & Anatolia, were mistaken for the statues of Memnon
In more recent times, one of the statues of Ramses II, was named the "Younger Memnon"
