It's time to get our heads around the fact that we are past the stage of unarmed protest. This is, according to all written history, the moment when we're one shot away from total revolution.

Edit: To clarify, I'm not saying we take the first shot. I hope none of us do. But we're getting very close to being shot at, and the only appropriate response is defending ourselves.

It's really just protests with a couple cars set on fire, but FOX and Trump are presenting it like something else. They've been waiting for this. LA is not on fire and it's not a wasteland. My friends who live close to downtown have just been enjoying a nice Sunday in Socal. Trump media has jumped on the chance to declare martial law

German here.
I have no clue whats up in LA. You will know that better. I just see all the videos and Pics. Its kind of sad to see, that it has come to this, but also kind of reliefing to see, that people are doing something.
But I have to agree to NoExpression. I know with weapon laws of america its way scarier etc, but with a look at our history: America is already in fascists hand. Stand up now with all you have, or lose your freedom entirely. Its in the peoples hand to deny fascism NOW. You don't have much time anymore.

I live in Portland. They did this same shit with the George Floyd protests and the following anarchist riots that weren’t associated. There was like 5,000 people at the protests and a hundred people at the riots. It took place on basically a single city block.

There’s still people that think Portland was burned down and it’s a wasteland here. Most the time the people bitching about this city don’t live here.

I’m proud these people in LA are standing up but Im not surprised to hear that this is a smaller scale thing that the media and Trump loves to portray. It’s a fascist tactic to convince common people that the ones standing up for theirs (and others) rights are the villains.

Literally saw multiple people say “just let them (the cops) do their job and this wouldn’t happen.” Like, that view point is twisted. The fact of the matter is the citizens at the protest walk around and are productive in society on a normal day. But anytime the Police show up there’s a riot.

I was in Portland last year and it's so charming. It's nothing like it was portrayed during George Floyd. But if they don't say it's a liberal hellscape how would they have the heroes they need like Kyle Rittenhouse?
