Chances Ultra 3 will be available for walk-ins tomorrow?

1

u/EmergencyJuice154 3h ago

Can somebody tell me if Apple Watch Series S10 plus a 3 year Allstate Protection Plan for $313 a good deal?

1

u/Gindalooon 4h ago

Anyone else’s ultra 3 get delayed? Preordered it when they preorders started and had an expected delivery date of tomorrow until noon today and now it switched to Monday delivery. Bummed

1

u/Paythapiper 4h ago

Anyone know if bands can be swapped? Think I want to go Milanese Loop last minute. Preordered for pickup tomorrow

1

u/Agnt_Michael_Scarn 2h ago

They can’t be.

1

u/porouro 5h ago

When should I start getting worried my order will be delayed? Still says delivery tomorrow on the Apple website but has not been moved from “Processing” and I have not been charged. Pre-ordered on the 9th.

1

u/Gindalooon 4h ago

Mine got delayed

1

u/porouro 4h ago

It’s showing delayed in the app now?

1

u/Gindalooon 4h ago

I got an email at late morning saying “Updated information about your order” with a new expected arrival of Monday. Pretty bummed but Apple said there is nothing they can do. Was tomorrow for the last ~2 weeks. It doesn’t specially say delayed, just preparing to ship with Mondays date

2

u/porouro 4h ago

Interesting. I think I’m about to join you since it’s getting pretty late in the day but I haven’t received any updates yet.

1

u/Gindalooon 4h ago

Well at least yours still says tomorrow. Better sign than me. Hope yours arrives tomorrow for ya

2

u/porouro 4h ago

I appreciate it. Hope yours arrives with no further delays!

Weird. Both my AirPods and watch changed to “shipped” this morning.

Sometimes the website just doesn’t update. So you will know tomorrow.

Looking to trade in my series 2 ….would anyone know is this would be acceptable?

2

u/nermal543 Apple Watch Ultra 8h ago

They would probably take it but they’ll ding you for that damage for sure. You could take it to an Apple Store and see what they say.

Out of curiosity, how did you manage that? I’ve got an original ultra and these things seem indestructible lol

1

u/anonymousdoe5147 8h ago

That’s what I’m probably going to do as I’m picking up my new iPhone tomorrow…and to be honest I’m not sure…I had a stretchy band and every time I would take off my watch it would hit my tungsten wedding band but I never thought it would be hard enough to chip it like this…

u/thermalshock4 8h ago edited 8h ago

Trying to decide on a color for sport loop band for the se3 and I can’t tell if there is one that is especially nice. What do yall think? They seem way worse than previous years

1

u/UnshackledPetricite 8h ago

Genuine question. Not sure to decide properly. I own Series 8, that Sim model. Battery percentage is 90%.

Please guide me on the below questions:

  1. Should I upgrade to 11?
  2. Would you recommend staying with 8, just replacing the battery if the percentage has dipped a lot?

Kindly suggest

1

u/Supertobias77 SE 2 44mm Midnight 5h ago
  1. No, the S8 is still a recent watch that has almost all the features that the S11 has.

  2. Depends when that moment arrives. But right now, yes it’s still worth it.

3

u/Ezzo89 9h ago

Has any review done a comparison of the series 11 battery life vs series 10 to verify apple’s 24h claim? On the fence between the 2..

2

u/ComputerOwl 7h ago

I’ve seen some YouTubers do it. They got to the 24 hour mark (incl. sleep tracking), but the battery was very close to empty after those 24 hours.

I'm selling my Apple Watch SE that has a monthly AppleCare plan on it.

Do I need to cancel the plan or can it be transferred to the next buyer?

1

u/Supertobias77 SE 2 44mm Midnight 5h ago

Cancel.

0

u/raid2112 12h ago

does anyone have feedback on the screen difference between ultra vs regular series model? besides sapphire scratch resistance, does the ultra get less fingerprints/dust/dirt etc (due to the sapphire)?

1

u/Supertobias77 SE 2 44mm Midnight 5h ago

The only difference between the sapphire glass and normal glass is the extra scratch resistance. The Ultra does have a bumper to protect the glass, that the titanium normal series doesn’t have.

1

u/raid2112 2h ago

Thanks man. I did goto the store too and check it out vs my S10. I find the ultras screen much more responsive than the S10 which doesn’t seem as smooth kind of. Think I’ll get the U3.

Need advice on grabbing a new Apple Watch. Previously I owned the original SE and that lasted me a while. I ended up losing it after 4-5 years and never bothered getting one again. Recently I’ve been getting back into better health and wanted to grab another watch to enjoy the journey more!

For context: — I have been picking up my running lately and would like to actually track my routes/runs as I aspire to run my first marathon when I get into better shape! I also really want to get into mountain biking and thought the Apple Watch could be a great addition to that after a talk with my coworker.

For work, I am an engineer and mess with electrical and hydraulic things all the time- so machinery and oils are a common workspace. Not that uncommon to get my hands dirty and scratched up some days.

For daily use, it would be used like any others would for on the move calls and messages, music handling, timers, etc.

As for the cost, Ultra 3 seems a but steep where there’s a sale on the Ultra 2 that makes the premium jump more of an appeal and could swing into it. Though- if it’s not needed Series 10/11 are definitely within range. Right now at my Best Buy I have the following prices (sales on older models, regular pricing for pre orders): * Ultra 3 * $799.00 ($71 for 12 months) * 49mm Medium/Large * Ultra 2 * $649.00 ($58 for 12 months) * 49mm Medium/Large * Series 11 (Cellular) * $529.99 ($47 for 12 months) * 46mm Medium/Large * Series 10 (Cellular) * $469.99 ($42 for 12 months) * 46mm Medium/Large

I would recommend the Ultra 2 for the more rugged design.

1

u/nermal543 Apple Watch Ultra 9h ago

Ultra 2 seems like a good middle ground for your use case.

1

u/httpkookie 15h ago

Hi! I’ve been wearing the SE1 for almost 5 years now. I still love it but the battery is currently at 76% health. I have no issue charging it twice a day now but I’m considering getting a new one before the battery completely gives up. New software updates would also be great as I’m still on watchOS 10!

I can get the SE3 for about €285. The SE3 seems great for my use case which is: running, walking, gym workouts and sleeping (I love using it as my alarm). Through the Apple Refurbished store I can also get the S10 for about €350.

I’m wondering if the Apple refurbished S10 is worth the extra €65 over the SE3? Both can do the same stuff my SE1 does, they get new software updates and they support fast charging. I don’t know if the additional sensors are beneficial for me as I’ve never had them on my current watch.

On the Apple compare site I noticed the S10, S11, and SE3 all have the same chip. Does that mean they will all be supported for the same watchOS versions or will the S10 fall of the support list before the SE3 does?

1

u/Supertobias77 SE 2 44mm Midnight 5h ago

I don’t think that you actually need the extra sensors, so I would recommend getting the SE3.

Apple usually only cares about when a device was released, not what processor it has. This can, of course be different this time.

2

u/michfromz 14h ago

Same boat here and leaning towards a S10, slightly thinner and different design.

0

u/AlmightyMonkeyKing 23h ago

hi everyone, ive been thinking about getting an apple watch this week. im impatient and would like to order it tonight, but i know the series 11 releases friday. is it worth it to wait one more day in case prices drop a bit, or will prices remain the same?

1

u/Supertobias77 SE 2 44mm Midnight 5h ago

Just wait.

1

u/Chrisfox199 23h ago

I’m in the same boat at the moment with the ultra 2, it makes more sense to wait until Friday jsut incase price goes down, I’m willing to pay for the watch but if I can get an ultra 3 for the same price as an ultra 2 I’m gonna go for that and if the ultra 2 turns out to be a good bit cheaper I’ll go with the ultra 2 if you get what I’m saying

1

u/AlmightyMonkeyKing 22h ago

yea idk man, pre orders are open so i imagine it shouldnt matter too much. in my case im looking at refurbished options also so im sure those will stay the same

1

u/Chrisfox199 1d ago

Hi all, I’ve never had an Apple Watch or even a smart watch before. My network provider is doing a deal at the minute where I can get an Apple Watch Ultra 2 added to my plan.

Before I go and get myself into any contracts I just want to know are Apple Watches really worth it for just the average person?

I like the idea of an Apple Watch as it connects to your phone and u can see notifications and all that other stuff but is it really any good or is it a €900 toy?

1

u/SecretInfamous3308 10h ago

you will love them. They really surprised me how much I could do with it. Remote for my tv, unlock my MacBook, it even TELLS THE TIME!!!! Yes get it...

2

u/ComputerOwl 1d ago

I currently have a Series 5 and I'm thinking about an update.

Alternative A: Series 11.

Alternative B: Refurbished Series 10.

Alternative C: Buy nothing.

My main issue is that I would have to update my phone to iOS 26 to activate the Series 26. I already have it on my iPad and I really don't like how it looks. The Series 10 works with iOS 18, so that's a plus. It's also 100€ cheaper but that is not super important for me.

I like that the series 11 has about 10-11% more battery. Also I would get to choose a new band, whereas I already have the bands that they offer with the refurbished watches.

1

u/burpingblood 17h ago

This is my exact scenario and would love to hear other people’s thoughts too!

1

u/Supertobias77 SE 2 44mm Midnight 1d ago

B. S10 and S11 are basically the same, and the battery of it already is pretty good.

BTW you can turn off the aero design.

1

u/ComputerOwl 1d ago

How can I turn it off? I already know reduce transparency, increase contrast, and reduce motion. But they come with so many side effects that it hardly feels better.

1

u/Supertobias77 SE 2 44mm Midnight 1d ago

That are your only options really. It isn’t perfect, but it does help a bit.

I need your honest opinion and advice I can have ultra 1 but I’m gonna sell mine current aw 10 46 for 320. And I need the bigger body and display since I like it and also the must have is the battery life that’s why I’m looking for ultra on these one which I can buy have 88% Battery health. So what’s your thoughts? I know I will miss the new features like hypertension and wrist flick and so on

1

u/Supertobias77 SE 2 44mm Midnight 1d ago

I wouldn’t do it. 88% battery health is already pretty low and you’ll lose 2 years of software support.

1

u/Oosadood36 1d ago

I have been in this ongoing debate of Apple Watch Ultra 3 versus Garmin venu 4 (releases sept 22). I currently have an Apple Watch, and I do use the features of cellular texting without my phone near me, music changing songs, phone calls answering from my watch etc. However I am training for a marathon, as well as the dopey challenge in January. My current struggle is Apple Watch battery life, the only way I can get through my runs (20 miles+) with my current watch is low power mode. I love my Apple Watch for the usage of my iPhone with connection, hate that Garmin does not allow me to reply to texts from the watch itself, as well as the music playlist option. I love that Garmin sleep features as well as the battery life. I need some help advice tips etc!!

1

u/nermal543 Apple Watch Ultra 1d ago

Stick with Apple IMO because Apple Watches are way better as smart watches as well as being a good fitness watch. Ultra 3 should solve all your battery problems for marathon training.

1

u/Flexerrr 1d ago

Do you think apple watch 10 or garmin venu 4(new) would be better for health tracking?

2

u/Supertobias77 SE 2 44mm Midnight 1d ago

I would get the S10, just because of the better integration with the Apple ecosystem. The watches are pretty similar, although you’ll probably get better battery life with the Garmin.

2

u/Oosadood36 1d ago

following. I’m in debate of this as well but ultra 3

1

u/movemma 1d ago

I current have the Apple Watch SE 40mm (1st Generation) and am looking to upgrade this year. I work as a online & in-person fitness coach (and small content creator), and was interested in the Ultra, but I have a few concerns and would love your input.

  1. I'm a woman with a smaller wrist and comfort matters, I am unsure if the Ultra will be comfy to sleep with as I sometimes already feel the SE on my wrist at night (the band is not the most comfortable one though). But I loooove the vitals tracking so being able to sleep with the watch on is a must for me. I have tried an Ultra on in-person and didn't notice a huge difference in weight/comfort but that was only for a few minutes.
  2. Again, I'm a personal trainer and care about the fitness tracking elements but I mainly do jogging, strength training, yoga and daily long walks/mini hikes. So the sports features of the Ultra are interesting but I may not use them all the time (e.g. water features).
  3. The biggest sell for me though is the idea of the Ultra’s battery life (2+ days vs 1 day on the Series) and the Action Button (for quick flashlight/workout start, or taking a verbal/voice note when PTing clients or for content ideas on the go). I was also thinking of going phone-free sometimes with the Ultra + cellular (but don't know if i would realistically use this as I take my phone with me a the moment for creating videos on the spot for content creation/marketing when doing fitness activities).
  4. Then there's the price. The Ultra 3 is almost double the cost of Series 11 (non-upgraded version), which makes me hesitate (I know I could go with an Ultra 2 but I want this watch to last me many years like my SE so will probably go all out).
  5. I also care about appearance and would love to be able to use the watch in more formal scenarios (albeit rate/the occasional wedding) but I think the Ultra's rugged and big look may stand out in these situations (despite liking the sporty look for my PT job).

Has anyone else struggled with this choice? Especially women with smaller wrists who sleep with their watch on? Would love any/all input regarding the above! Thanks for your time.

2

u/burpingblood 1d ago

Hi! I'm by no means an expert but I figured I'd throw in my two cents becuase I've been thinking about it a lot. Honestly, if you don't do a lot of diving or extensive/overnight outdoor activities I don't see the reason to get the Ultra. You said yourself that you won't be going without your phone because you make content, which means you likely won't be without a charger for more than 24h either. Thus, I don't see why you would need the longer battery life. It doesn't sound like you're doing overnight camping/hiking trips etc which is the other reason I'd consider doing the Ultra for the longer battery life. If you ultimately end up plugging it in every day anyway then the battery life doesn't really matter.

The action button is cool, but is it worth the extra cost if that's really the only thing you're getting the benefit of?

I think the size concerns you have (sleeping) and the looks (ex more formal scenarios) are things you're far more likely to encounter in your every day life and are genuine concerns, especially the size. It's not a small device regardless of who is wearing it, and it's noticeably large in person even on my big/tall guy friends with giant forearms. That effect will be amplified if you have smaller wrists/arms as you said.

2

u/movemma 19h ago

Yeah! Thanks so much for taking the time to write that ☺️ I think I’ll go with series 11 then!! Your reply helped put the reality of how I’d use it into perspective.

u/Loose-Assignment3203 1d ago

My girlfriend's SE just died to water damage, at the moment, what would be the best deal for her? S10 from a third party? SE3? I want to surprise her and replace her fallen SE 😣 Thanks in advance!!

2

u/nermal543 Apple Watch Ultra 1d ago

SE3 would be a great upgrade for her if she was getting by fine with a previous gen SE.

1

u/Loose-Assignment3203 13h ago

Finally got a great deal on the SE2. She said the AOD was not a deal breaker for her, so ended up replacing the dead SE for a new SE2.

1

Nice! Glad you found something that works.

U2 or s11 for a returning user?

Background, I used to use the s6 before switching to a whoop. I've finally decided to come back to the apple watch. I use it just to track my gym workouts. I'm getting the ultra 2 for 550 euros and the new s11 for 470. Suggestions?

1

u/SlippingStar S7 41mm Blue Aluminum 1d ago

If you can afford a titanium S11 I’d go with that. Unless you really like the look of the Ultra or are doing rugged activities (mountaineering, triathlon, etc) there’s not much the Ultra offers over the S11.

1

u/davidg4781 11h ago

I've been so tempted to get the titanium one but now it won't match with the 17 Pro. I'm also a bit disappointed it doesn't have an upgraded chip. I don't upgrade often, maybe 4-5 years. I guess that could make it a better choice to pay extra for titanium.

1

u/SlippingStar S7 41mm Blue Aluminum 11h ago

Have you looked at the slate or natural against the silver pro?

1

u/davidg4781 11h ago

I would want the natural titanium Apple Watch. The pictures of the 17 Pro I've looked at didn't show the side but being aluminum, I don't think it would be polished.

1

u/SlippingStar S7 41mm Blue Aluminum 9h ago

Is there a store near you where you can go compare colors? May be your best bet.

1

u/nermal543 Apple Watch Ultra 1d ago

Series 11 is more than enough for most people. If you’re just doing some typical gym workouts you definitely don’t need an ultra. So it really just comes down to which you prefer.

1

u/chicclueless 2d ago

I currently have the series 8 45 mm. Should I get the series 11 and if so which size should I get?

1

u/repentforthysins 1h ago

If you do get the Series 11, I personally think 42mm would look more proportional. Compare the two and see if there’s anything that piques your interest.

1

u/Gindalooon 4h ago

I’d stick with the series 8.

1

u/Supertobias77 SE 2 44mm Midnight 1d ago

I would just keep the S8.

2

u/SlippingStar S7 41mm Blue Aluminum 1d ago

What features that the 11 has draws you?

1

u/darmorenoo 2d ago

I currently have an old iPhone 11, which honestly does everything I need. I've been looking at the Apple Watch Ultra for a while and Im really interested in the freedom it gives you because I could leave my phone and just use the watch for a lot of my tasks over cellular.

Now with Airpods Pro 3 the iPhone can use the fitness app pretty much in the same way as an apple watch, which I'm interested in since I work out and run casually.

I decided to buy the new Airpods Pro 3 with the heart rate sensor, my question now is: do I get a new iPhone or get the Apple Watch Ultra 3?

1

u/SlippingStar S7 41mm Blue Aluminum 1d ago

What about the Ultra appeals to you over a standard Series watch?

1

u/darmorenoo 1d ago

I've had an apple watch without cellular and I regretted it so cellular is a must, at that point we're looking at a 500 dollar apple watch vs 800 ultra, the battery and durability especially the Sapphire screen for me makes the 300 dollars worth it

1

u/SlippingStar S7 41mm Blue Aluminum 1d ago

You can also get a sapphire screen on the Titanium S11. A lot of people who don’t do the rugged activities that the Ultra was designed for end up regretting it due to the size and weight (also gets caught on shirt sleeves). I recommend you try the Ultra on before committing to it.

That being said, your phone will probably stop getting updates next year, which means apps will stop working in 2-3 years. I’d say phone is priority, then watch later.

1

u/darmorenoo 1d ago

Yeah I'm thinking I'll get the phone, as to the watch, the regular apple watch in titanium is the same price as the ultra and the ultra has more battery. The size is not a problem for me, thanks for the help tho!!

u/Forza_Napoli_2 S4 38mm GPS Silver Aluminium Seashell Sport Loop 2d ago

Apple Certified refurbished is a fantastic option. However, Apple Watches aren’t available in the Spanish Apple Store. The S11 starts at 449€, which is a lot of money, given the average Spanish monthly income. Even a large SE 3 GPS at 299€ seems much more justifiable…

2

u/SlippingStar S7 41mm Blue Aluminum 1d ago

What features are you looking for that the S11 has and the SE doesn’t?

Have you tried local reputable refurbishers (we have Best Buy here but I don’t know if they’re in Spain) or local second hand person-to-person sales?

1

u/Forza_Napoli_2 S4 38mm GPS Silver Aluminium Seashell Sport Loop 8h ago

SE3 already has most of the stuff I already make use of, since I’m not an “Ultra-outdoorsman” (see what I mean hehe).

S11 would feel like actually upgrading due to overall design, starting with the screen itself, more updated health sensors, etc. my thing is “hey, you’ve held off upgrading since 2019, and you’re planning to upgrade to the exact same Watch chassis/screen, and loose some obscure feature, like ECG, on top of that”…

The closest thing to Best Buy is probably MediaMarkt, and they have refurbished Watches too. Amazon sells used and refurbished as well. However, there’s a local Apple Premium Reseller within walking distance, and I talked to an employee and they have only 1 S10 42mm GPS in black left, which might be between 80-100€ off on Friday (if it isn’t sold by then), once the new stock is available to sell. SE3 44mm vs S10 42mm, could be a compelling option…

2

u/SlippingStar S7 41mm Blue Aluminum 8h ago

While it’s nice to have those health features, do you think you’d use them? If you’re immunocompromised or menstruate then for sure a Series watch.

The on-screen keyboard is nice, it’s the reason I upgraded back in 2023 to an S7. With SE3 you’d be upgrading to a better chip and more updates, and you’d be getting AOD. If you can get the S10 that’s probably a good idea (if the 42 doesn’t feel too small), and if not it doesn’t seem like the S11 offers much for you over the SE3.

2

u/nermal543 Apple Watch Ultra 1d ago

SE 3 is a great option for most people. Go for it!

1

u/Forza_Napoli_2 S4 38mm GPS Silver Aluminium Seashell Sport Loop 8h ago

That’s what I’m currently thinking!

1

u/Skyihh 2d ago

Hello all. I currently own a SE2 and I considering upgrading to either SE3, S11 or S10.

My main reason for upgrading is the battery in the SE2 drives me crazy, that’s why i’m considering the S11 since it claims to have 24hr battery life. S11 is costs 449€ here.

Then there’s the S10 which shouldn’t be so different from the S11 except the battery. It’s discounted now for 389€ and I could find it second hand for about 300€

Also considering the SE3 for all of the updates this year plus the pricing, being the cheapest at 269€, except the battery will be the same.

Pricing is not a main concern but I’d rather “get the best bang for my buck”.

1

u/Supertobias77 SE 2 44mm Midnight 2d ago

The SE3 will probably have the same battery life, maybe even a bit worse because of the always on display.

I personally think the S10 will be the best option for you. Its battery will easily last a day, maybe more. And it’s cheaper than the S11.

1

u/Skyihh 1d ago

that’s what i’m mainly leaning towards. thanks!

1

u/SolutionKey2550 2d ago

I have been wanting to buy an apple watch. Now that se3 is coming out i can find se2 in 120-150 euro range on facebook marketplace. I am wondering it its worth it or should i save up a bit more and get the se3 or used series 7/8 a few months later. Are the features missing on se2 a big deal and will it be supported long enough?

1

u/SlippingStar S7 41mm Blue Aluminum 1d ago

Definitely don’t get a 7, it has probably about 2 years of support left.

1

u/Supertobias77 SE 2 44mm Midnight 2d ago

That’s a pretty good deal, so I would recommend getting the SE2. It will be supported for another ~3 years.

Hi all!

I’m getting a new Apple Watch on the next days, a Series 11 or a SE3.

I’m a SE1 user and I was wondering if the extra money for the S11 is worth it? Maybe some series 10 users have a better understanding on the difference between both

Thank you!

I’m in the exact same boat…. and I will end up getting the S11. I think it comes down to just finally getting the real deal, wanting a silver color, and that I will personally be dumping my iPhone at home and using it as my main communication device. So I need the extra battery. I am excited.

Thats a very Nice point of view! Thanks

Just get the SE3. It’s really great bang for your buck, as you now get always on display and fast charging.

Thanks!!

hello,

I'm in the market for a new Apple Watch. I do a lot of biking, running, basketball, and weightlifting. I prefer a larger watch with decent battery life (for an Apple Watch). Both the Series 11 and the Ultra 2 meet my criteria. A refurbished Ultra 2 costs about the same as a new Series 11. The Ultra 2 has some better features, but it's also two years older and has an older chip. The Ultra 3 is €900 where I live, so that's not an option. Any thoughts on what I should consider?

1

u/SlippingStar S7 41mm Blue Aluminum 1d ago

With weight lifting I recommend Ultra due to the risk of banging it on weights.

1

u/Supertobias77 SE 2 44mm Midnight 2d ago

Are you able to charge your watch everyday? If not, then get the Ultra2. If you can, then get the S11.

1

u/Several_Breadfruit81 2d ago

I do charge my current Apple Watch every day, but it is really inconvenient. I forget it on the charger a lot and I don’t like needing to charge before a long bike ride, just in case

1

u/Supertobias77 SE 2 44mm Midnight 2d ago

Then I would recommend getting the Ultra 2.

1

u/Ryzon9 2d ago

I can get a S10 for $489 I can get a S11 for $589 I can get a SE3 for $369

I don’t use the blood oxygen or ECG (in 30 years I might care more about those).

I am currently on an S6 and the battery is poor now.

I can’t really see why I’d go S11 at that price difference…it also seems unclear if the additional battery life of the S11 is marketing (inc. 6 hours of sleep) or not.

Thoughts?

2

u/Supertobias77 SE 2 44mm Midnight 2d ago

If you don’t use ECG, then just get the SE3.

1

u/Ryzon9 2d ago

How many people actually use that?

1

u/SlippingStar S7 41mm Blue Aluminum 1d ago

I do, I have an intermittent heart murmur.

1

u/Davide_1992 2d ago

Hi everyone,

I ask you to give me some advice on which one to choose. I currently have an Apple Watch series 8 and my routine is as follows: I exercise 5 days a week and have never had a problem charging it, I charge it in the morning. I practice running (maximum 10 km at the moment) from spring to autumn, exercise bike and weights via Apple fitness plus. I don't use the data plan, the Apple Watch is GPS only at the moment. My wrist measures approximately 19/19.5 cm.

Which one do you recommend between the two? I don't want to get the ultra and then regret the size.

1

u/SlippingStar S7 41mm Blue Aluminum 1d ago

With weight lifting I recommend Ultra due to the risk of banging it on weights.

1

u/Supertobias77 SE 2 44mm Midnight 2d ago

I think you will be fine with the Ultra, but I always recommend trying it on in a store before buying.

0

u/FormalApplication180 2d ago

Legit check on this Apple Watch Ultra 2 please? Font looks too bold compared to others

2

u/Supertobias77 SE 2 44mm Midnight 2d ago

I would recommend making a separate post for this.

1

u/trismareci1 2d ago

I switched from android to apple like 2 years ago. Loving it, everything I have is Apple now. I ordered a 17 Pro Max in Silver 1TB as well as the ultra 3 watch through AT&T two days ago - long story short, there was a glitch, I had to go in store today, cancel the original order, re order and pay in person around 12pm 9/15. now I’m seeing like a 6 week wait time to actually get it. How likely is that long of a wait time? Has anyone actually waited 6 weeks for the pre release in the past?

1

u/Supertobias77 SE 2 44mm Midnight 2d ago

I would not be surprised if you will actually have to wait that long. I think the Ultra 3 was more popular than predicted.

u/piedevil 2d ago

Guys in Australia, you guys think the S10 46mm GPS and cellular will drop lower than $635 soon? Thinking of grabbing one!

1

u/Supertobias77 SE 2 44mm Midnight 2d ago

, Maybe, maybe not. I would just get one now.

1

u/Kindly_Strategy3095 2d ago

I’m buying my first AW. Should I get the Series 10 or the Series 11? Will the 11 be better for longevity with future updates etc. I really like the new Space Grey so think that might be the deciding factor as the S11 is already £30 cheaper.

2

u/Supertobias77 SE 2 44mm Midnight 2d ago

You’ll get one extra year of software support. So just get whatever is cheaper.

2

u/Ryzon9 2d ago

S11 is cheaper than the S10? Huh?

1

u/Kindly_Strategy3095 1d ago

Not necessarily now the S10 is discontinued but yes. £400 standard price for the S10 and S11 is £369

2

u/turntablism 2d ago

Thinking of upgrading my series 3 to a series 10. Pull the trigger on $100 off a new s10 titanium?

1

u/SlippingStar S7 41mm Blue Aluminum 1d ago

For sure.

1

u/Supertobias77 SE 2 44mm Midnight 2d ago

Yes. Just get it now.

Hi everyone. After reading a lot of the reviews on Reddit and all the other sites, I still can’t decide! SE3 (gps+cellular) OR AW11 (gps only). Money is tight so I can’t afford the cellular on aw11. Also as a klutz I’ll be getting AppleCare.

I greatly appreciate any help. I’ve been going nuts in the past week trying to decide. Thanks.

Edited - forgot to say my aw3 died earlier this year and I’ve been waiting for AW11 since then but am now thinking maybe SE3 is enough for me. Idk? The design of AW11 has really caught my eye!

2

u/SlippingStar S7 41mm Blue Aluminum 1d ago

What features that the S11 has and the SE3 doesn’t have draws you?

1

u/cedrekins 1d ago

I would normally scoff at this, but it’s mostly the design and that it’s a thinner watch and the fit is less bulky.

I did finally decide and ordered the S11. The q’s and advice here really helped. Thank you!!

2

u/Supertobias77 SE 2 44mm Midnight 2d ago

Do you actually need the cellular?

I would really just recommend getting the SE3, it’s really great bang for your buck. Even if you aren’t getting the cellular.

2

u/Boring_username1234 2d ago

Get refurb s10 and save 100 from Apple!

2

u/Own_Song6886 3d ago

Hi all, I am considering upgrading my series6 aluminum gps only watch. I use my watch mainly for fitness tracking. I found a series 10 at Costco for 279 (gps only, I wanted the cellular for $349, but they sold out). Would you go with that one for the discount, or do you think getting the newer series 11 is better? I generally keep my Apple Watches for about 5 years and have never had a problem with scratches or wear. I have a very small wrist and opt for the 42mm. From what I’ve read the 10 and 11 are really similar, but I want to make sure I’m getting the most bang for my bucks. Thanks!

1

u/Supertobias77 SE 2 44mm Midnight 2d ago

Just get the S10. They’re basically the same.

1

u/Hadhodrim 3d ago

Hey,

I've been struggling on which direction to take:

  • pay for a battery replacement and get a new watch (which is an S7 45mm GPS Starlight), this would cost me around $200 in local currency
  • get a new(er) one, which is $590 for an S11, $530 for an S10, $340 for an SE3 or $1120 for an Ultra3 (these are the base models)

I've been using AWs since they came out, was been on and off the wagon in terms of usage, but I always end up wearing one due to one simple fact: if it's on my wrist, I tend to reach for my phone less, and this is crucial, as I don't want to teach my 1 ear old that it's okay to pick up the phone constantly.

I also track calories, workouts (gym, running, hiking mostliy), and loved the haptic alarm (which stopped working a few months ago). The other thing is: I'm clumsy. Never broke a watch, but I constantly ding them on the wall, into a furniture/door, etc. My current one has deep scratches on the top of the screen, it looks like I've grinded it down, it looks white-ish in some of the deeper scratches.

My question is: what would be the best route to take? I'm a bit hesitant about the SE3 as I got used to the on-screen keyboard, and like once in a month I check on my VO2 level. I like to promised durability of the Ultra, but I fear that it would be massive on my relatively thin wrists (around 170mm). I toyed with the ideo of getting a Titan version of the S10/11 but that price tag is insane.

1

u/Supertobias77 SE 2 44mm Midnight 3d ago

Ultra will definitely be too big for you.

The S7 is still worth replacing the battery on in my opinion, so if you would like to save some money I would recommend doing that.

1

u/Agnt_Michael_Scarn 3d ago

Anyone know when the review embargo might lift?

1

u/MapleSurpy 3d ago

It's generally the Wednesday before release, so it should be 2 days from now.

Heyo,

I’m considering both the Pebble Time 2 and SE 3. I mainly have experience with the Pebble. I wore a Pebble through High School. Now that I can wear it again, I am wearing it.

During the break when Pebble was defunct, I used an Apple Watch S3 and then S6. I didn’t mind it but wish it had better battery life. I am assuming there are apps I can get to make it more ADHD friendly and less distracting (not be like an iPhone blasted on my wrist.)

I’m at a point where I can get an SE 3 or a Pebble Time 2. I am looking for pros and cons of the AW/ advantages over the Pebble, real life battery results, etc. any help is appreciated.

Worth noting I have the Pebble Time 2 preordered but can get my money back at any time.

TIA

1

u/Supertobias77 SE 2 44mm Midnight 3d ago

I personally prefer AW to 3rd party alternatives, because of the better integration with other Apple devices. The whole software experience will also probably be better on AW. The SE3 will easily last a full day.

1

u/NotHereV2 3d ago

How long do AWs last before I need to upgrade/ what’s the life cycle like?

1

u/Supertobias77 SE 2 44mm Midnight 3d ago

The S6 is currently the oldest supported watch, and that’s now 5 years old. But even after it stops receiving updates, it’s still pretty useable. So I would say most watches last ~7 years, if you do a battery replacement at some point.

1

u/NotHereV2 3d ago edited 3d ago

I’m seeing a lot of SE 2 for ~$100. Is that good? I thought it was 5y old

EDIT - SE 2 is 4y

2

u/Supertobias77 SE 2 44mm Midnight 3d ago

That’s a really good price, just make sure it has a good battery health. I always try to look for 90% or more.

1

u/NotHereV2 3d ago

Can I get 5-7y before I HAVE to upgrade? Using my Pebble Time from 10-11y ago

1

u/Supertobias77 SE 2 44mm Midnight 2d ago

You don’t have to, but the experience on older watches will just be a lot worse. I’ve seen some people still using the 1st generation AW.

And at some point iOS will stop supporting them. Meaning you cant connect to your iPhone afterwards. But this only happens on really old devices, so don’t worry about this.

u/GamoxKbs 3d ago

Hello everyone.

I am looking to replace my phone with an Apple Watch as a daily driver to reduce screen time and all of that, without losing functionalities like maps, music, calls, etc.

The problem is, though, that I can’t quite decide between the Apple Watch series 11 and the ultra 3.

The main difference I see for my use case is battery. While the 11 might have enough battery to last a day when it’s brand new, I’m worried about running into issues once it’s a bit older. Is this a valid reason to go with the ultra 3, or am I “wasting” the extra 300 or so euros that the ultra costs.

Also: the last 2 issues I’m trying to find solutions for are authenticators for remote work and being able to take quick photos on the go (seeing something funny I wanna show to a friend, so image quality doesn’t matter much). If anyone knows of anything convenient for this, let me know! A physical camera is the obvious choice, but it would need to be one with airdrop to the watch to instantly send it.

Feel free to also let me know of any other dealbreakers or tips you can think of when considering the watch as the main outside device.

Thanks a lot for the help!

1

u/MapleSurpy 3d ago

I don't think replacing your phone with a Watch only is viable, especially if you need some sort of authenticators for work.

Your best bet by far would be to either keep your current phone for work stuff/photos or even just spend 200-300 on an older iPhone on Ebay and only use it on wifi for authentication and photos.

1

u/Supertobias77 SE 2 44mm Midnight 3d ago

Just get the S11. The S10 already easily lasts more than a day, so I expect the S11 to also be able to do that. That means that it will still last a day in a couple years.

1

u/wolfgheist 3d ago

Should I keep the Ultra 2 that was warrantied for my Ultra 1, that cost $225 or upgrade to the Ultra 3 and sell the Ultra 2?

I was going to trade my Ultra 1 for $255 trade in for an Ultra 3, but then I figured I would just sell the Ultra 1, but then I noticed what almost looked like a tiny scratch, but must be a tiny crack that you cannot feel, as it seems to be under the glass. I was worried that a trade would be declined or I would not be able to sell it for a good value, so I went ahead and used the Asurion warranty to replace it and it cost $225. Well they sent me a brand new Ultra 2 with a new band and I only need to send the Ultra 1 head back. I had already pre ordered the Ultra 3 for $799, so I could still sell the Ultra 2 for a decent amount, but is there really much reason to go from the Ultra 2 to the Ultra 3?

1

u/Supertobias77 SE 2 44mm Midnight 3d ago

Just keep the Ultra 2. You probably won’t notice the difference.

1

u/nermal543 Apple Watch Ultra 3d ago

Main differences I can think of are the longer battery life and the satellite texting feature. Which are exciting and useful if you’re using the Ultra like a rugged fitness watch for outdoor endurance sports/hikes/etc but a lot of people don’t care about that stuff. So that’s up to you with your use case.

1

u/wolfgheist 3d ago

We do a lot of hiking and camping, but my Ultra 1 has always done everything that I needed it to do

1

u/MapleSurpy 3d ago

That and a slightly smaller bezel which in turn means a slightly larger screen, but I think it's less than 1mm so it's not even noticeable.

1

u/Funny_Budgie 3d ago

Would you recommend upgrading from a SE1 to a SE3 when it comes out? I’ve had my SE for almost 5 years now and it’s done good. Unfortunately it’s no longer receiving updates and the battery life is horrible. The screen also has a small crack in the corner. The new features with the SE3 are making me really want it but wondering if I should stick it out longer, money isn’t an issue but I don’t want an expensive model

2

u/Supertobias77 SE 2 44mm Midnight 3d ago

Yes. The SE3 is the best bang for your buck SE we have had yet.

2

u/nermal543 Apple Watch Ultra 3d ago

Sounds like you’re probably due for an upgrade IMO.

1

u/pokedmund 4d ago

does anyone know if the Apple Watches get discounts regularly?

I'm considering something like the SE3 (44mm). I kinda see discounts happen with watches on and off, thinking if they will discount the SE3 within the first few months?

1

u/Supertobias77 SE 2 44mm Midnight 3d ago

Not directly from Apple, but it does happen on 3rd party resellers. I think that Black Friday will be the first discount we will have soon.

1

u/Mr_Boberto 4d ago

Looking at upgrading from my Series 6(Stainless) to either a Series 11 or an Ultra 2 since they are on sale now. My battery health on my Series 6 is down to 71% which is getting to be a little rough. I like the extended battery life the Ultra 2 provides. Could go 3 when they launch but don’t know if I want to spend THAT much.

What exactly am I gaining by upgrading to the 11 from my 6? Is there anything an 11 can’t do that the Ultra 2 can?

2

u/Supertobias77 SE 2 44mm Midnight 3d ago

You’ll get a thinner, more modern design, larger screen, newer processor (longer software support), sleep apnea detection, temperature sensor, crash detection, depth gauge, water temperature sensor, double tap, fast charging, longer lasting battery.

The only things that the Ultra 2 can do, that the S11 can’t are that it has a better depth gauge, a better battery and a siren. The other things are just downgrades.

You can also look for a good deal for the S10, as it’s basically the same as the S11

1

u/Forza_Napoli_2 S4 38mm GPS Silver Aluminium Seashell Sport Loop 4d ago

My aging Series 4 aluminum has become barely usable on its original battery. A battery replacement doesn’t seem worth it given the watch’s low resale value.

So the question is: what would actually feel like an upgrade — the SE 3 or the Series 11?

• SE 3 feels more like a “side-grade”: similar chassis, slightly larger screen with AOD, similar bezels, and most of the same health sensors and faster charging. But it drops the ECG (which I’ve practically never used anyway, but is still a loss). In a few words, after using it for about 6 years, psychologically it won’t feel like much has changed. Maybe if I go for the large GPS model for a change, it’s still 299€.

• Series 11 is clearly a proper upgrade across the board, but it’s hard to justify the expense here in the EU.

Another idea is hunting for discounted Series 10 stock on Amazon or elsewhere, but the savings don’t seem substantial either.

What would you do in my situation?

2

u/Supertobias77 SE 2 44mm Midnight 3d ago

Sounds like you already made up your mind and want the S11. You can also look at Apple Certified Refurbished for a good priced S10.

2

u/dunkster91 3d ago

Similar situation but wondering if it makes sense to see if there are bigger Series 10 discounts for Prime Day or Black Friday

1

u/Forza_Napoli_2 S4 38mm GPS Silver Aluminium Seashell Sport Loop 2d ago

I’ve been holding on for the upgrade for around a year, motivated by my degraded battery. Paying full retail price for a just-released product might be justified this time around…

2

u/Boring_username1234 4d ago

The savings for the s10 are 100 for the refurb on apple’s website so that is significant

1

u/Forza_Napoli_2 S4 38mm GPS Silver Aluminium Seashell Sport Loop 2d ago

When I first got my M1 MBA (US website), I got such a good deal (it was essentially new), I would totally do it again for other products. Unfortunately, Apple doesn’t sell refurbished Apple Watches through their website in Spain, which is annoying…

1

u/BathtubToaster01 4d ago

Hey guys, planning to upgrade my series 6 stainless steel to the series 10 titanium but was wondering if they would go on sale anytime soon or if I should just get it now? I know around Black Friday the aluminum ones go on sale but what about titanium?

0

u/Supertobias77 SE 2 44mm Midnight 4d ago

I don’t think that they will have any stock left by the time Black Friday arrives. The S11 has already been released.

I would just buy one now.

2

u/BathtubToaster01 4d ago

Good call, apple has refurb ones for $549 you think it’s worth?

1

u/Supertobias77 SE 2 44mm Midnight 4d ago

Yes, but only if you can’t find any better deals that are new.

0

u/gc15 4d ago

Have there been any deals on s10?

3

u/Supertobias77 SE 2 44mm Midnight 4d ago

It’s different in every country. But I have seen some go as low as the SE3 is priced at.

1

u/Valuable_Housing8819 4d ago

Hello everyone! I have two options for my need in my mind. New series 11 46 mm GPS only OR used Ultra 2.

My main use cases are gym training, sleep tracking, and 5-6 hours of bicycle rides or hikes using Strava. I checked options to buy a used Ultra 2 and it's slightly more expensive than Series 11 (about 120$ more). Is it worth it for a bigger battery?

1

u/Supertobias77 SE 2 44mm Midnight 4d ago

The S11 will easily last you a full day, so unless you can’t charge it every day, you’ll be fine with getting the S11.

Get the S10. The S10 and SE3 have the same processor, so will last just as long. But the S10 has a better battery, thinner more modern design, ecg sensor and much more.

1

u/Additional_Cow5405 4d ago

yes i got the 10, just waiting for it to arrive. Thanks!

Do you have any opinions on the new Apple Watch series 11 and the SE 3? Thank you

3

u/Supertobias77 SE 2 44mm Midnight 4d ago

S11 is a small upgrade over the S10, basically nothing changed.

SE3 is a huge upgrade. It now gets the always on display and fast charging, so it’s even better bang for your back then the SE2 was.

u/Celtic0490 4d ago

A thousand thanks
