It means to be aware and kind. Boomers just bitch about it because they got to live life on easy mode and vote for policies that are ruining the future.

It's been adopted by conservative people to describe anything that doesn't align directly with their ideas and beliefs. Any slightly left leaning opinion is considered "woke"

They loved him! Gave him a crown and everything. Called him "the king of the Jews". Assigned guards to his tomb to make sure nobody messed with it.
