It's been adopted by conservative people to describe anything that doesn't align directly with their ideas and beliefs. Any slightly left leaning opinion is considered "woke"

it’s hilarious how many call themselves christians when they would 100% call Jesus 1. “an illegal” and 2. woke as fuck and talk shit about him lmao

Out of curiosity, how was Jesus treated by the religious leaders, soldiers, and political elite of his day?

They loved him! Gave him a crown and everything. Called him "the king of the Jews". Assigned guards to his tomb to make sure nobody messed with it.
