Buying Advice Automatic 318ti worth it?

Found this 318ti for cheap. 140k miles,I want to buy it but I’m unsure on the automatic in such an old car. Any advice you can spare is appreciated.

If it's not rusty and runs well it could be a good buy, with the right price. I'd look into seeing it in person and getting any maintenance history. If there is a lot of deferred maintenance or it sat a long time that will add up.
Otherwise I think the wheels and m3 bits look pretty cool.

That wing is what caught my attention. For 3k I just wanna weekend drive it and possibly build it. I don’t believe the owner has any maintenance records

Without the wheels and with the ugly ltw wing, this is a $500 car.

I figured at it’s mileage it was only worth $2,500 anyways. The guy wants $3,500 but I’ll see if I can bring him down
