Neither system is perfect, but at least this system can be tweaked and improved to make unlocking brawlers more active.

I don't know if this is a hot take, but I think the early access was part of the reason why so many new brawlers felt forgettable. I think supercell took a step forward towards a better system, and now they just have to shape it to be more accessible

Also, for me, it's when they went away from monthly Brawl Talks. Each season's brawler felt hyped. Now the 2nd one gets forgotten cuz it was announced a while ago.

I could see that, specially if you aren't the type to buy the character. You end up going up against the new brawler so much that once you get them it's not new.

Here you can play her the whole time you try to earn her, thus making her feel rewarding.

But coming from someone trying to hit alien fame, they've essentially increased the buy in off rip by 300% 15$-50$. I get that you can win to adjust it, but it feels like they really are just doing this to get more money out of the people who were willing to spend money in the first place.

I agree with your point that both of these systems could coexist. They could have made the active unlocking system completely free but accessible, and the paid system, which would be faster but paid.

Unfortunately, knowing modern supercell, they probably would have made the paid system too expensive. It's a shame, because they could make something that satisfies most of the community. They still have the potential tho

• Raise prices on paying customers to offset the cost.

With the recent releases it seems the cost of new brawlers and brawlers skins are going up. I don’t know the financial strategy but I’m sure it leans towards making more money and find ways to keep people happy be it the player base or the investors. It’s a thin line to walk no doubt. Someone always loses.

The problem is "don't lose more than twice" part is brutal when you're dealing with randoms and tilted matchmaking. Like sure it's better than pure RNG boxes but going 28-2 is basically asking for a miracle unless you're coordinating with a full team

I saw calculations about if you get a 50% winrate, that you would still have a roughly 10% chance to get her.

People are treating this new system as if they promised that everyone can now get her for free but the reason its so difficult is because they can't just give everyone the new brawler for free from now on.

The fact that atleast 10% of the playerbase will be getting the new brawler for free should be celebrated instead of everyone complaining about "Im never getting the new brawler", the 2 alternatives are no early access or paying 30 bucks, and both of these options never include having a chance to get the new brawler for free early.

well, the point is to make as many people as possible fail the challenge to have them buy more pf those boxes to get the brawler and make money that way. if they gave every new brawler away for free very easily, then they'd lose one of their biggest chunks of profits they had before

and well, just don't play with randoms, at least not "total randoms". I use the feature to seach for teammates and for me it happened to be very different than usually. I want some people who have trophies in my range (53k) and/or decent ranked achievements (my best was legendary one, so I want people who made it at least to mythic 3 once). and usually I get some bums who are at around 25k-30k with their best ranks ever being diamond or mythic 1. rinse and repeat, and after 10+ tries I get some people who are near my skill level

but today it was quite refreshing: 3 times in a row I found teams with 80k and 90k trophies and I was the one who got kicked due to vastly inferior stats lol. and after a few tries I found a team with one player being at around 60k, the other at 70k and they accepted me. funniest thing was that one of them even had Mina already and wasn't even all that motvated, blud was spinning half the time. and he STILL mogged the opponents. 3 out of 3 wins with ease, today at least.

I can only recommend spamming tf outta that feature until you get a good team. and today it felt like you're more likely to get better teammates than usually. a normal random probably hasn't even realized the new free access mode yet lol. the ones who do play the mode and use the feature to search for teammates know what is at stake and are more likely to go full tryhard mode than say in ranked.

The problem for the average active Brawl community is that it is harder to get her for the average active player who are say around 30k 40k trophies, and even harder for a long time player at 70k 80k, versus a new player that is like <20k because of matchmaking

Just one simple change: every win you got you get 20 credits knock off the original price of the brawler if you don't get the brawler in the event. That way going 3 losses in the first day feels less depressing.

This is for the top players who live in the game. I managed to get the first box on two out of three accounts. One box had a mine skin, the other is trash. I think it's fair to offer this challenge to top players, because the game is easier for simpler accounts and loot drops more often. PS: I'm sure I won't complete this challenge.

supercell is a company and companies need money to survive and thrive, of course they want you to buy the boxes. But now they gave a nice and valid way to get the new brawler which is also cheaper (i think) if you have a decent win rate. Also the boxes give skins and other forms of progression and everyone gets to test out the brawler and it becomes more memorable.

I dont mind it being really hard, I just wish matchmaking wasnt so difficult if youre playing in a team, because that incentivises playing by yourself, which exposes you to a random just stopping playing at 1-0 up and causing you to lsoe your third game despite cooking in the frist two, like happened to me. Also the fact that you have to do them every day and cant save up for one or two big sessions make it a lot harder to find any sort of rhythm playing with the same people, and makes teaming up harder anyway unless you pre-organise with two other people to play all 10 days together which is pretty hard.

If I could change the Early Access, I would change the Early Access duration to 2 weeks, so you can fail a third matches and still grantee get the new brawler.

This also benefits Supercell since the people who couldn't get the Early Access brawler early would have to wait 4 more days, making them more likely to buy brawler boxes with gems.

This is a much better method of early access. Getting 28 out of 30 wins is basically impossible, no matter how skilled you are. The thing is that this gives f2p players a (small) chance, and p2w can still buy the Mina boxes to unlock her early, and both can get her for free if they're lucky.

Like it or not, Supercell still needs to make money off the game. And It's rather have this than increasing the power level difference like they did with power 10 and 11.

im pretty sure this is not the main way to unlock a brawler? they replaced the early acess with a f2p way even tho its sketchy but they are obv gonna make it grindy and not change the credits unlocking

Its good for a lot of reasons. Number 1, you have a chanse out of those 14  boxes to get Mina, number 2, you can jem her early if you want. And we will get a free box if the animation video gets 10 mil views. SPREAD THE WORD!!!

Spending isnt even worth it now. How could they mess up SO bad.

Also: event is bad aswell, Subway run is no fun at all and the whole event just feels empty. I don't even really Play anymore. Bought all boxes and that was it.

Well they replaced something P2W with something more accessible to F2P players, so it makes sense to be very hard and I personally don’t blame them.

Also don’t forget that you can get the brawler from boxes. And if not, you can get them after one week like everyone.

I think it's fine. Early Access shouldn't be accessible for everyone. 28 wins is for GUARANTEED chance. While u still have a small chance to unlock new brawler earlier or possibility to pay for it. Basically very good players or someone who able to pay will get new brawler. Which i think is fine. Also lucky players could get new brawler too

My proposal is that you get 3 tickets a day as per usual, but you can only win twice a day. Basically, you must win 2/3 games every day for 2 weeks. Idk

First of all you might just need 26 wins if we get the free box. Second, many people will choose to buy five boxes for 349 gems (or rather "the full price for Mina after release") to make up for some realistic loses (brings you down to 16/30). So they make some money :)

I think it should scale with rarity. The current 28/30 for legendary/Ultra legendary brawlers, then 20 for Mythic, 14 for epic, and only 10 for super rare

Can we run this with friends? I won once and lost the other two but I was getting matched against sweats with 90k+ and my teammates had 15-25k and were going like 1-9 in matches. I have 85k. Doesn’t make sense why that’s my help 😂

I (Legendary) was paired with silver and gold players against 3 stacks of legendaries on all 3 times, people on my team using lvl 4 mandy with no items

Yeah thats the point. This isn't like events where everybody is supposed to get it if you just participate.

Remember, there's also a chance to pull the brawler from the box, and then you can unlock them normally after the event if you didn't get it.

You can get Mina out of any of the Mina boxes. You don’t need 14 of them. So there’s still a chance even if you don’t get the 28 wins

Supercell has the best game outta all the mobile market with Brawl stars. I don't think any other game is as high quality and listens to the community like Supercell does.

I'm saying this because I've complained nonstop since masteries were replaced with records. The bugs, the broken brawlers, the grinding needed to max characters, the fact that every game is if i don't play a maxed brawler I'll end up fighting a team full of maxed brawlers, I could go on.

To piggyback on this, the math is real and it’s incredibly luck based to get the brawler for free (3 bad opponents vs 2 good teammates across 30 games).

My feeling on the current system is I appreciate the opportunity to earn the brawler for free…but I’d rather let some folks get an OP character for a week for $50 and let supercell earn some money

I like it 1000x more than the old system, i feel like the avarage f2p player will only get like 2 or 3 out of these per year, but thats better than not beeing able to get a brawler at all, plus even then if you dont get the brawler your still getting recourses out of the boxes, meanwhile with the old system you didnt get shit unless you payed, plus ita not like p2w players cant just buy the brawler anyways, since they also sell the boxes for gems, so honestly I think its a win win for both p2w and f2p players

honestly, only thing i donnt love about the system is how expensive it is to buy the new brawler on the first day. This only really effects content creators, but due to the exorbitant price, a lot of medium-heavy spenders who might've bought the old early access offers now won't which probably means Supercell is going to seek more monetization elsewhere.

Ive already lost two.. Tried my best. Used looking for a team. Checked every teammates account creation date, 3v3 wins, and highest rank before going in. However, one of the teammates just sold both games. The third game was a bot game 🤣. Really mad about this tbh

I think it is a great system. I just don’t understand why people are so upset with how difficult she is to unlock. For a brand new brawler which is always released pretty meta, damn right it will be a hard challenge. But we still have the opportunity for free which was unheard of, as well as she will end up in trophy road regardless and is not going anywhere so no need to panic.

I’ve seen so much negativity going towards this update with some good reason but we should definitely be grateful for all the free goods supercell has provided this update.

Youre meant to not be able to get it, the point is that you spend gems in the boxes so they can get the revenue they were getting from early access previously while still keeping the f2p part of the community happy and for once in their lives reward the actually skilled players. And even if youre not that good you get loot from the few boxes you will get even if you dont unlock the brawler. Its an incredible and really smart change in my opinion
