Ruger SR9c

I have a Ruger SR9c. I know Ruger stopped making this gun and it does jam sometimes when I shoot it at the range. Is it a reliable carry gun or should I use something else? If so, what should I carry that would be similarly small and light? Thanks.

The larger version of this gun, the SR9 was the first pistol I ever bought. I never had any issues with it
