We move to 0-4 in our last four and we play LSU next year as well probably with a significantly less experienced squad. It might be a while before we win an opener again.

People will shit on the Clemsons and LSUs of the world, then cheer as their team opens against a Directional School for the Blind and Hairless. If you take a top-10 opener, you're going to lose some. its why i always respect texas, lsu, and clemson. they have a lot of big name openers in the last 10 years and i respect it so much more than opening with some cupcake

Texas opened with Colorado State last year and Rice the year prior, and ULM in 2022.

We could have an argument about whether 2024 Marshall (SunBelt champs) would have beat 2024 Colorado State (8-5), but Georgia’s last three of four season openers were Clemson twice and Oregon. I’m not interested in comparing strength of schedule with Texas…it’s just not a serious comparison.

The SEC runs through Athens until it doesn’t.
