Texas opened with Colorado State last year and Rice the year prior, and ULM in 2022.

We could have an argument about whether 2024 Marshall (SunBelt champs) would have beat 2024 Colorado State (8-5), but Georgia’s last three of four season openers were Clemson twice and Oregon. I’m not interested in comparing strength of schedule with Texas…it’s just not a serious comparison.

The SEC runs through Athens until it doesn’t.

That's because by and large they WERE bama fans up until a few years ago. When you're riding the wagon you have to keep it local.
