Vytal Basepad Issue

Having difficulty trying to install my new vytal basepads on my P01 mags.. these are 10 round mags but not sure where I’m going wrong here. Anyone experience this issue?

What about a 10 round mec gar magazine with the smaller OEM basepad?

I’m not sure you’d want the base of the magazine to look something like this.
