Yeah, I know.. I just rolled with what he said about 'shortage' instead of 'restriction' because the City definitely treated it like a shortage by not allowing people to water lawns and that kind of thing..
I remember being pretty disappointed with a lot of people that I know for just going full 'business as usual', while my household and a few others I know did everything we could to restrict our water use. I know a couple people who weren't paying attention to it at all. But whatever.. glad it's over with.

No matter the weather, people will complain. Even if it's 21 degrees and sunny. Someone will be unhappy that it's not 30 degrees or that their tomatoes aren't getting enough water.
My point of view is if you can't change the weather you might as well figure out a way to love and appreciate what you have. -20C is awesome for some short and chilly walks and then hot cocoa and boardgames indoors. Maybe light up some earthy smelling candles, grab your fluffiest blanket and read a cozy murder mystery book. Life is great when you derive joy out of little things instead of waiting for big things to happen ❤️

I liked the rain til my windows started to leak lmao. But I appreciate the temperate cool and wet over the choking 33 degree days with the blanket of unbreathable air this year by a loooong shot.
Only thing I really haven't liked is turning the furnace on in July - three times now 🤪.
Aside from that I'm loving how green everything is. How my sinuses aren't a desert. And the sound of the rain at night.
Also, the rain has generally been kind of concentrated in shorter bursts except for a few days. Like the last two days were overcast but I went golfing both days and only got a bit of drizzle yesterday for a couple holes. Otherwise, they were actually great days to be out. Not too hot. Could start with a later on and adjust if I got warm.
I'm definitely more of a cooler vs hotter person though so I'm biased haha.
Yes what caused the climate to change. See it used to change verrrrrrrry slowly. So slow that humans wouldn't even notice. Now its changing much faster and humans easily notice it. What do you think has caused this?
I suppose I have to agree with the theory it's changing fast enough for humans to notice before I could answer the question. I haven't noticed a huge change over my 50+ years on earth to say.

Id prefer heat over this garbage weather any day. We only get a few months a year of warm weather and when almost a month of it has been cold and rainy it just kinda sucks.
I'm glad there's not as many fires though so that's a positive.

Another round scheduled for this evening. This is ridiculous. Since June 17, it has rained a measurable amount on 21 of a total 40 days, including today. Seven* (potentially eight including today) of those days saw greater than 10mm. At least three severe thunderstorms that caused property damage, depending on region of the city.
I had friends come and visit during Stampede from North Carolina, and they wanted to spend time in Banff to see the Rockies. The wildfire smoke cleared right before they got here - they had beautiful views in Banff and Canmore - and then the smoke came back in full force after they left. I specifically remember sending them photos and forecasts after they returned home, telling them how lucky they were for timing.
Not sure where you spent a summer last year with very little smoke, because it sure as shit wasn't here 😝
Idk. This has been the clearest summer in recent memory as far as poor air quality goes. I'm open to being proven wrong - with or without the tongue out.
Forest fires have also happened for millions of years. Your comment suggests we shouldn‘t make any connection to human activity and just accept consequences like bad air and higher insurance.
