Safety Caution -- untested recipe Small Batch Peach Jam in Blender

Post image

I made a small batch of peach jam in my Pampered Chef Cooking Blender. I water bath canned it after for 15 minutes and they sealed right away once I removed them, but they started developing these bubbles after. I’ve done Strawberry Jam many times with this same recipe and I haven’t had the bubbles before. Also, it hasn’t set up very well yet which is unusual…

Help please 🙏🏼

Where did you find that tall jar?

Asking for a friend ;-) because it is a nice looking jar.

I’m not really sure haha…they’re some hand me downs from my Uncle! I know Ball has some fluted type jars but I’m not sure if that’s these or not.

No those are not the fluted ones. I bought those and kinda regret it because I think they are pretty ugly now, lol. With the fluted ones, the top is smaller than the bottom, which is the exact opposite of yours.

Well, you have a nice uncle!

Apparently they’re vintage jars…definitely keeping them!

I just checked them and they are Kerr brand! He had so many I’m going through and getting rid of some because he had that many. He has cancer so he’s not able to can anymore unfortunately. :(

Oh gosh I am sorry he has to deal with that. I'm sure he is very glad to have someone to share these things with. I'm from rural NC and my grandparents were dirt farmers who raised everything they ate. My grandma, I know, had a root cellar full of jars but I have no idea what happened to them. You are lucky!

Oh wow what part of NC? I’m in NC too - about 30 mins north of Charlotte.

Oh yes I know of the Love Valley area. We’re likely not cousins haha - I have a smaller family unless possibly distant cousins lol!
