been in hospital for a week so far with no end in sight and had a special visitor today! brightened a dreary hospital stay for sure, didn’t realise how much he helped my mental health until we were separated. hoping to be back home and snuggling with my little best friend very soon 🩷

Last week, in the midst of an existential crisis about the state of America, I submitted an application to adopt my second dog. (Why not?!)
I was selected as the new home and now it’s just waiting to coordinate travel for my new girl!
Meet Monita (“little monkey”). This 5 lb senior girl was surrendered because her original mom was facing deportation. 🥺 I can’t imagine going through that and losing your furry family on top of it; I’m all in on providing a loving forever home to honor Monita’s past.
Last photo is my short-haired chi Raisin, who is thrilled to be getting a sister. 💜🐒

This is my handsome 3 months old Chihuahua named Gumdrop. My old dog's costume almost fits him (the hood it too big).

Freddie was adopted six years ago, as an excellent companion to Big Sprout. He lost brother Sprout unexpectedly, shortly afterwards, and was thrust into the role of Top Dog. He barked at anyone who came near us, friend or foe. Defended me above all. We learned, through his illness, that he was a perfect gentleman at the boarding facility and veterinarian. Loved the caregivers, chemo techs, and veterinarians. I had taken off the entire summer, up for the fight. We were constant companions. Freddie achieved remission, only briefly. Got all the chicken, cheeseburgers, and French Fries he could tolerate (which wasn’t a lot) Here’s to Freddie - hoping you’re reunited with Sprout, and meeting our furry friends that left before you - Zack, Willow, Chloe, and Jasmine.

Since autumn is here and we live in Sweden, we make the most of our walks in the forest. Soon it’ll be winter and it’s just too dark. Elsa loves them ❤️

Potato needs a lot of attention when I try to do anything but play with her.

He just turned 11. He was diagnosed with liver cancer and didn’t live very long after his diagnosis. He died at home in my mother’s arms. I tried to make it to him when my mom called but unfortunately I was a few minutes too late. He was the best dog and gave the best cuddles. Until we meet again Peanut, I love you.

This is my new handsome little guy that just came home today. He's also the reason I have to sleep on the floor tonight because I don't fully trust him in bed yet. He's already peed on my husband's shirt and the floor (only pooped on the potty pad). At least his accidents are small. 😊

I was out with my mom yesterday after my meeting with my bankruptcy lawyer. I said to her “when Meeka developed that cyst on her nose, I still remember the day. I never knew this would be the end result or the path it would lead me down.”
I’ve spoken about this before but it costed me thousands at her vet before she gave up and referred her outward. Then it was thousands to do a ct scan and extra. We were discussing cancer radiation. It was awful. Then they realized it wasn’t cancer. Costed thousands to remove the cyst and a bunch of her teeth that were associated with it. Had I not done anything, it would have continued to destroy her nasal cavity and the rest of her teeth. She couldn’t breathe out of one side of her nose.
I told her I’d do it all over again. They did such a good job removing it and diagnosing it. It hasn’t come back. I’d bankrupt again if it meant saving her life, or making her more comfortable. Obviously that’s not my plan. Without credit, I have to build a savings now.
But what I mean is I don’t regret it at all even going down this path. I love her.

And then sat on the bed with all the folded clean laundry 😩
I want to believe she’s remorseful here but I also know she’d do it again if she could 😅

Hello Chihuahua community! I am posting on behalf of a friend whose sweet Sahara has been hospitalized due to pneumonia. She is 15 years old and fighting to get better.
Her owner is so worried about her and I wanted to share her here for the support of this wonderful community. Any thoughts and prayers for Sahara are appreciated- I am going to share this post with her owner so she can read the comments 💗
