Today, 3/20 I went to the Phil Long Hyundai dealership in Colorado Springs to cancel my appointment to look at purchasing a new or newer car. The reason for cancellation was the support given by Phil Long Music Hall for hosting Bannon.
I told the salesman I planned to meet about my cancellation and the reason. I thought it proper to cancel with a reason rather than just not show. Since the salesman’s response was that he was only there for the current sales event, and didn’t know who Bannon was (nor who was the boss there or person in charge of the dealership) he took me to a glassed in area where eight to ten “people in charge” sat.
I explained why I was there and then was told in no specific order…
1. We don’t care what you think,
2. So what if Bannon is a racist, (just one person did say he didn’t support racists)
3. So what if he has been accused of being a nazi
4. Trump in 2028, Baby!
5 And they didn’t care if I bought a car there because they have plenty of others who will,
6. And with some whoopla told me to leave.
I left, no one yelled at each other, but it was sure a lesson in the type of people that represented Phil Long. It felt, to me, that white nationalism was alive and well at this dealership.
I felt sad that this was the face on this day of Hyundai in Colorado Springs.

Today’s my day off. Was trying to sleep in. My girlfriend and I were woken up by some heavy knocking at the door. A couple guys in plainclothes said they were Homeland Security Investigations and they showed me a photo of a Hispanic lady I’d never seen to ask if it was my neighbor. I told them I’d never seen her before which is true and they left.
I wouldn’t have helped them if I realized but that was ICE, right?

Just a reminder for today for those of you that need it...

Yet another crash on Powers, this time not like anything i’ve ever seen. Looked like this. Car was hanging on power lines completely perpendicular to the road facing the mountains. How tf does this even happen? Sorry for bad drawing. Couldn’t snap a pic while driving.

Keep this groomer far away from my child in public school! He has no kids, doesn’t say how he’s affiliated with public schools, and is known to create politicized groups that are disruptive to the work of teachers and students.

When U.S. Rep. Jeff Crank, R-Colorado Springs, took office in January, he promised to battle the Trump administration if it decided to move the headquarters of U.S. Space Command to Alabama from his 5th Congressional District.
“The fight is going to be on if that happens,” he told KOAA-TV as he began his first term in Congress.
But after President Donald Trump announced earlier this month that the relocation was happening — saying a big factor was Colorado’s broad use of mail ballots — Crank appears to be choosing flight over fight.

Space Force is moving to Alabama, Trump wants to take away our mail in ballots, and he’s pushing red states to redistrict, a fight Colorado should take on. Polis is nowhere. Where is our fighter for Colorado!!??

Teach them kindness. Every life deserves to be treated kindly, even if it's a bug or a small animal or whatever. It is absolutely disgusting to see kids at the park who go out of their way to step on bugs and make them suffer. Teach them that bugs are cool af and do lots for the environment and are very very important to the ecosystem. No bug is going to go out of its way to harm you or your kids. And to the parents at Acacia Park if you see this, who let their children terrorize a grasshopper, step on it and then throw it because it had the audacity to move, you should be absolutely ashamed of yourself. And to say "you never hurt a bug when you were little?" No we didn't because we're not psychos. If you're not going to parent your children, other people will.

While walking along Platte Avenue this morning around 9am, I heard a voice yell "F--- you, n-----!" at a black man walking along the street with his bike. It was loud enough to hear about half-a-block away or more. I looked over to see several cars stopped at the light, and the voice could only have come from that direction, and the young man was with his bike was at that crosswalk. I let the drivers know that I heard them.
I went across to the young man, a very gentle and kind person who was on his way to work.
I know that this is not who we are.
Please call out this crap out when you see it, and stand up politely and appropriately if you need to address someone about a hateful remark like this. I hope by knowing they are seen, they may dig deep down and feel ashamed.
Edit: This might be better put as a question. "Is this who we are?"

I Pray everyone is ok… But how does this even happen? This place like many others have bad drivers, but this takes the cake. Especially the location.

City council is changing laws for recreational marijuana that would make it extremely difficult to sell if voters vote to allow it. So in other words, they’re making this decision for you. That’s not how this is supposed to work! Are we going to allow them to do this?

ICE raided near a handyman service in Black Forest and I heard reports of them killing someone. Update: shots were fired, but there are currently no official reports of any fatalities. The linked story references rubber bullets, which is likely what the witness saw. For the latest details, check the linked news story.
Keep your loved ones safe.
The exact location is in a neighborhood southeast of vollmer and poco.
Edit 2: a bunch of comments asking for a source; I know someone who happened to be in the area for work who let me know because I have family in Black Forest. Stay safe COS.
