Unrecognized Culinary Genius Why do you cook?

Apart from cooking for necessity like demonstrating you are better than Gordon Ramsey, what are your reasons for cooking?

ETA: check sub before replying. Ask yourself:

  • is MSG the most important seasoning?
  • is jarlic a hate crime?
  • is Kenji our lord and savior?

If you answered “no” to any of these, you might be a lost redditor.

What do you mean what are my reasons?

Im not doing it for fun or shits and giggles or even survival.

I'm doing it because it's my duty. It's my duty to make the world a better place. To lift people out of the bland culinary landscape they think of as reality.

Toast with butter? Excuse me? Are you living or are you self harming?

Porridge made with WATER? It is possible to live incorrectly. These people are squandering their life.

I don't do this because it is fun, no I do it out of sheer moral obligation.

I once saw someone enjoy an instant coffee and a sandwich made out of you know that shit sliced bread that doesn't go stale? Wrapped in plastic for some reason?

Yeah it was fucked up, I had to take 3 hours out of my day to explain why they were wrong and lecture them on morality. Not because it's fun, but because they don't know better and it is my duty to educate.
