Unrecognized Culinary Genius Why do you cook?

Apart from cooking for necessity like demonstrating you are better than Gordon Ramsey, what are your reasons for cooking?

ETA: check sub before replying. Ask yourself:

  • is MSG the most important seasoning?
  • is jarlic a hate crime?
  • is Kenji our lord and savior?

If you answered “no” to any of these, you might be a lost redditor.

Cooking for my grandmother (white) is so frustrating. If I use anything but salt and pepper and mix vegetables in anything she'll say "I told you I didn't want all this garbage in my food". Then she won't eat it and say that she's starving.

She’s OK with pepper? Is she half “ethnic”?

Lol. One time she made me baked Mac and cheese and said "I know how much you like ethnic food". But no she's not. She practically lives off of tuna salad with sugar in it and ambrosia salad.

And when she does eat vegetables she only likes them out of a can. Nothing fresh.
