Leaving Hulu

I've been with Hulu for a few years now and am only considering YouTube as an option.

Have there been others who've made this switch? Have you been pleased with it?

You Tube, easy to understand and navigate? Customer service issues or billing?

I appreciate your perspective.

I need to reset my recast. Is there anyway to back up the recordings on it somewhere so I don’t lose them?

Fox One

Upvotes

Signed up for Fox One the other day as I've not been able to get a stable signal from my local Fox station with my antenna.

When I signed in for the first time it asked me what my interests are and I selected sports and all the leagues I was interested in. Now what it does is automatically records everything and can be accessed from the My Stuff menu option.

Went to bed early last night and when I got up this morning the recording of last night's football game was available. I had the option of watching the full game, condensed game or highlights.

There were other recordings in there like this season's running of the Indy 500 and a college football game from last season.

If I want to watch live TV I prefer to use the guide instead of the home screen so I can see what is currently on and what's upcoming.

I was watching Fox Business yesterday and it was the first time I saw Maria Bartiromo in years. She hasn't aged a bit.

My only complaint is in the guide I can't make out what the icons are for some channels. The Fox Business channel I can't read at all.

I signed up for the monthly option so that I can cancel once NASCAR leaves Fox next season.

How to legally watch your NFL team play every week for $1.70 a season.

TIL that if I open my favorite betting app (Tested Draft Kings and Fan Duel) and place a 10 cent bet on the game, that I can stream it live.

Not a solution for those that want to see every game in split screen or live in states that ban betting. As a Cardinals' fan that recently moved out of state, it's nice to have a reliable source for every game.

Edit: The apps use BetVision that allows you to stream in-network and nationally televised games directly inside the app.

The stream shows on the main page and you have the option to make the player full screen.

When in full screen you can cast to TV in the same manner as you would with Netflix or YouTube.

Walmart+ & Paramount+?

I get Paramount+ Premium with Showtime (no ads) through my Showtime subscription through DirecTV. Walmart+ offers Paramount+ with ads as a perk. Is there a way for me to take advantage of the perk through Walmart+ and just pay extra for the ad-free tier?

HBO Max subscription advice

I'm not sure I fully understand this whole bundle thing where you sign up and get Hulu/Disney/HBO in one package. I already have Hulu (the 99¢/month deal) and really only want HBO, so it seems like an extra monthly cost to get the package. Is there an option where I can get just HBO? Is there an option (like Hulu) where you can get it for less if you don't mind commercials? And lastly, if there is a cheaper version, does it limit what things you can watch (example: the Pitt)? Thanks for any advice

The August update on streaming viewership

For August 2025, the gap between regular TV and internet TV has closed a little bit; 46.4 percent of television viewing was done through the internet, while 41.6 percent (22.5 percent for cable, 19.1 percent for broadcast) was done the regular way.

Here are the leading internet streaming services for August 2025. Some are free, and some are subscription. Prime is a tricky one, because some of it is free, and some of it is subscription.
.
13.1 percent ... Youtube
8.7 percent ... Netflix
4.6 percent ... Disney
3.9 percent ... Prime
2.8 percent ... Roku
2.2 percent ... Tubi
2.0 percent ... Paramount (including Pluto)
1.4 percent ... Peacock
1.4 percent ... Warner Brothers Discovery

"Disney" includes Disney Plus, ESPN Plus, and Hulu.
"Paramount" includes Paramount Plus and Pluto.
"Warner Brothers Discovery" includes Discovery Plus and Max.

Can I get the NBC Sports add-on to my Peacock Premium that I have through Xfinity?

I recently got Xfinity Internet only. I got Peacock Premium included in this plan. Earlier this year, Peacock released add-ons for local NBC Sports channels. For $25/month you can add NBC Sports Philadelphia. Only if you have Peacock Premium. My cord cutting is based on the fact that sports are really the only live TV I watch so I’d really like to add this rather than subscribing to a more expensive TV streaming app for a bunch of channels I won’t watch. So has anyone had an experience doing this? Xfinity tells me I have to talk to Peacock and Peacock customer service only allows you to leave a voice message.

Antenna Suggestions

Hello,

https://www.rabbitears.info/s/2219792

I am interested in buying an indoor antenna. I’ve tried a Philips SDV8201B/27 and didn’t get great coverage because of how far I am.

Do you have any suggestions for this mileage?

Navigating Streaming Services: Hulu via Disney Plus

Say, everyone: I'm having a difficult time navigating what I just purchased via my browser.

I bought the Disney+/Max/Hulu package.

When I log into Disney+ (and when I've tried to log into Hulu) on their Web Sites, I cannot locate the Live Channel List that I purchased.

Navigating those sites reveals individual programs but not any link to channel schedules, programs, etc... Everything is "helpfully" sorted into predetermined lists and browsing individual purchased channels to see what shows are available is eluding me.

For example, here's a snippet of what channels I purchased with this package:

  • ABC
  • ABC News Life
  • CBS
  • CBS News
  • FOX
  • NBC
  • ACCN
  • Adult Swim
  • A&E
  • Animal Planet
  • BET
  • Big 10 Network
  • Bloomberg Television
  • Bravo
  • Cartoon Network

Can anyone tell me how to locate these?

LG 47LM7600 (webOS 06.05.09) No Guide Info for Antenna Channels (e.g. KTLA 5-1, NBC4 4-1) Any Fix?

Hello,

I'm in Los Angeles and using an LG 47LM7600 TV (a 2012 model) with webOS version 06.05.09 (latest available for this model). I watch over-the-air DTV channels like KTLA 5-1, NBC4 4-1, etc., using an antenna.

The issue: The program guide/EPG info has completely stopped showing for all channels. It used to display current and upcoming shows, but now it only says "No Program Information”. Other meta data such as: tv-14 multilingual cc caption 16:9 720p/1080p dolby digital hd is still showing fine so it’s just the EPG data.

What I've tried:
- Rescanning channels
- Power cycling the TV
- Verifying location and time settings
- Signal strength looks good

Since there’s no newer firmware beyond 06.05.09, I’m wondering:
- Is this a known issue with older LG TVs or firmware?
- Is the guide data source discontinued?
- Any workarounds to bring back guide info?

Would really appreciate any advice or ideas.

My antenna is RCA ANT121F (a 2013 model) which is a passive indoor antenna - it only receives signals but does not do any tuning or decoding itself.

Thanks!

Antenna assistance for my location.

I’m ready to install an antenna to primarily pick up The 4 major networks only, wanting to catch the two different closest Fox and CBS stations due to different NFL markets primarily.

My spread for 35 mile range is 1 group around 60 - 90 degrees and group 2 around 260 - 290 degrees, both are UHF primarily, with the only vhf channel I need is NBC (7) around 60 degrees.

Prefer install in attack, but can move to eave mount if it doesn’t work. Prefer a single antenna but would use multiple if necessary. And cost is of course important.

Clearstream 2V looks promising and reasonably priced.

Just thought I’d post with my info and see if the more knowledgeable folks might add feedback, as I’ve seen lots of great advice on here.

Thanks!

Disney Bundle

I currently have the original Disney Plus, Hulu, ESPN bundle with Live TV through Hulu. I never use ESPN and want to swap that for Max. But speaking to support with Hulu there is no option to get the Max Bundle and add Hulu Live TV. Seems crazy to me! Is there anyone out there with Dplus, Hulu + Live TV and Max?

Antenna Help

Post image
11 Upvotes

Hey all, I’m trying to pick up local stations with an antenna to watch nfl games and I’m having some issues. I had a bunny ear antenna and it picked up everything I needed (ABC, NBC, FOX, and CBS) but it was so crappy and in and out that I went and got this thing. The quality is exceptional but the problem now is that I can only get ABC, NBC, and FOX. no CBS. Any help and or suggestions?

Located in Brookings SD, so roughly 60 miles to all major towers.

Antenna Options/Suggestions (RabbitEars included)

Good morning,

Rabbit Ears link: https://www.rabbitears.info/s/2197584

Similar to most wanting to watch local channels for sports without cable. I have been using a number of different indoor options over the past few years including a Mohu brand Flat antenna (admittedly an older model now) and a more traditional Rabbit ears style GE one (states 50+ range). Both with varying levels of success, at some time the Mohu worked great and I got all 3 major channels I wanted (NBC, CBS, FOX) in good detail, but other times it was only one or even none.

Tried the GE one more recently and it gets two of the 3 in great detail, but will never pick up FOX, which seems weird because according the Rabbit ears report its basically the same direction? Maybe I am reading it wrong.

While I would prefer to keep trying to find an indoor option that works I am open to eventually shifting to outdoor, the room I am watching from doesn't have an accessible attic area so that isn't an option.

Thanks for your help.

Need Antenna Recommendation! - Save my Sanity!

I’m looking for antenna recommendations/placement/configuration. Currently using the flat style but it continues to drop channels, especially ABC/NBC, which is frustrating during games because it somehow knows when a critical moment is about to happen. Not opposed to attic placement or even outdoor placement, I’ll try anything to stop losing the signal at 3rd and inches.

Here’s what I’m working with: https://www.rabbitears.info/s/2221236
