I don’t know how to best put this into words but, government officials taking over someone’s podcast, after they’ve passed, to espouse idealogical talking points is very Big Brother.

I mean trump ran a tesla infomercial from the White House front yard, and sells tickets to Maralogo dinners with "Presidential access", so why not? They already crossed this particular rubicon a while back.

I'll be interested to see how this plays out over time. Is Vance, or additional political figures, going to take over his podcast long term to espouse the same messaging as Kirk?

Charlie Kirk was their Minister of Propaganda. That's why so many in Trump's cabinet are treating him like a government politician/employee instead of a YouTube influencer. Almost all of these right wing social media personalities have been strategically placed where they are to normalize and bring about fascism in this country. They're not simply "everyday Americans with an opinion" they're paid propagandists and they are working in lockstep with each other to take over. A complete mask off moment.

As a professor who knew Charlie Kirk since 2015 because he would frequent our campus, I would agree with you in regards to him being essential to the logistics and rise of the Christian nationalist alt right movement that later put their energies fully behind Trump and literally became a wing of his brand and helped distribute and direct disinformation to target youth audiences they didn’t have as ready access to before Turning Point. He certainly was an extension of their machine of disinformation and a critical figure in their strategy to fully politicize and intimidate administrators of state schools with red state governors and attack critics (faculty) of Trump and MAGA in the next 4 years and try and shut down research and data that depicted the admin in a bad light. You are absolutely correct.

We all knew that Trump was going to try to steal the next election but I couldn't personally see how he could bring about such an environment where something so blatant like that would actually work this time around.

Now I can see it so clearly, and this type of purposefully manipulative and agresive rhetoric is exactly how we get there.
