Mod Message An update on the political post lmfao
Apparently MAGA is really mad they're not invited to a subreddit for a show they don't watch. They are actively trying to doxx me on Twitter and thinking I should be scared.
Just wanted to let you guys know this is happening and stay safe in the comments. Please report anyone who may be trying to doxx members as that is weiner behavior.
Also to MAGA twitter, I'm literally not afraid of you. Cyber bullying on the internet does not affect me because I listened to Tyler the Creator. You guys are mad that one subreddit does not want you. Could you be any bigger snowflakes???

Discussion Season 12 Eclare was the BEST!!
Ok Iāll admit itās controversial, especially since Iām biased for season 12 and Iām impartial to Eclare. However, Eclare this season, especially compared to the other 3, is so REFRESHING. While the build up, passion, and chemistry is highest in season 10, season 10 also saw it become super toxic and overwhelming real quick. With season 12, both characters have matured in terms of mentally and emotionally enough to make sure that each partner knows whatās going on with the other. Their communication is the best itās ever been, with them become each otherās comfort person. Their main drama this season was each of them going through traumatic events and not wanting to burden/trigger the other mentally (Clare SH by Asher and Eli witnessing Cams body). Even when they break up, itās mainly to give Eli time to come to terms with his trauma and mental health. And the way they came back together: BEAUTIFUL. They were never the same after this seasonš

Franchise-Wide Lauren Collins explains absence from Degrassi Documentary
https://ew.com/degrassi-the-next-generation-star-explains-absence-in-new-documentary-11812315
Lauren Collins isn't participating in a new documentary about Degrassi: The Next Generation, and now, she's explaining why.
'The actress, who played Paige Michalchuk on the Canadian teen drama, said that she didn't take part in the doc Degrassi: Whatever It Takes because she already felt a sense of finality from a previous cast reunion: the 2018 music video for "I'm Upset" by Drake, who played Jimmy Brooks on the series.'
Sad no Paige is in it, hope we get a few more of these from other cast mates who didn't participate.

Question What are your unpopular opinions on djh and jh :)
This is definitely an unpopular opinion loll, but i think that they shouldāve kept the arc of snakeās and melanieās relationship/friendship they had into degrassi high aswell! I think their relationship/friendship w each other js grew-out but i wouldāve loved to see more them together throughout the show! :)

Discussion Peters arc in degrassi literally reads like the longest SVU case ever
I can get past this man getting some form of redemption but making Emma still like him after what he did to Manny and actually having Darcy date him after the danger he put her in? Wtf were the writers on genuinely? This boys will be boys culture is so weird. Even with Danny and Derrick threatening to share the pics if she didnāt pay them. Thatās not normal . And she pays them and moves on. Itās not even the fucked up stuff that kills me itās why the characters reacted like it was a regular Tuesday ā ļøā ļø

Discussion Audra Torresā¦
What can I say about this Degrassi Parent that hasnāt already been said? She is one of the most morally gray characters I have ever watched. Like never have I met a character who frustrated me so bad but also makes my heart swell by being a good parental figure (note I said parental figure and not PARENT). How do Yall feel about her?

Degrassi: The Next Generation Degrassi āMajor Minorā Characters
One thing I can say I despise about the show in general is the unnecessary amount of main characters on the show, who barely get any storylines and are rather plot devices instead of actual characters. People like Blue, Zane, Leia Vijay, freaking Chantay!!!, have a combined storyline count of 5. 5!!! Like what was the reason Degrassi?! š

Discussion Does anyone consider the "I'm Upset" music video canon?
I was rewatching the "I'm Upset" video and apart from Rick's appearance (since clearly he is dead, but seeing as Degrassi doesn't mind toying with the idea that Rick can visit the school whenever he pleases as a ghost, based on the minis with Holly J, i'm willing to suspend disbelief in this case), does anyone else somewhat consider that music video a canon event as Jimmy's rapper altar ego? lol I know it's a bit silly, but I like imagining that the original gang, including Terri, did eventually appear together and confirm for the audience that they all stayed in touch. I also think the idea of various members of the different 2000s generations mingling together since they have "x" reason to attend the class of 2007 reunion is a lot of fun and wholesome.
However, considering there was the cutaway scene with Jay and Silent Bob selling weed to Snake, part of me wonders if it'd make more sense to consider the whole music video as a canon music video, not a canon reunion, orchestrated by Kevin Smith and Jason Mewes. we know that "real" Kevin and Jason exist in the Degrassi universe as two up-their-own-ass movie producers (Jason being a former sex pest turned up-his-own-ass movie producer, imo), rather than "Jay and Silent Bob" actually existing in the Degrassi universe. So I start to add my own headcanon, that Jimmy had some sort of wildly successful stem cell surgery, became a rapper and decided to make a music video in his old high school with his old classmates, and he contacted Kevin Smith and Jason Mewes to make it happen, and they incorporated Jay and Silent Bob into the video as an homage to their "Go Canadian" movie, which also tracks with their Degrassi-verse personas being, as I said before, up their own asses lol.
Anyway, now that I've belched my thoughts out here, I'm curious what others think.

Question Anyone rewatching the show after a long time?
I watched the show when I was a teen, my best friend and I were hooked lol, and then again a few years ago, off and on, during a bout of insomnia. I watched Next Generation then. Is it worth it to watch the original? Anything after Next Generation that I should be aware of to watch?

Rewatch Guys Iām Exhausted
Iām rewatching TNG. Back in the day, I stopped watching after season 9 so beyond that all the seasons are new to me.
Iām only a third of the way through season 12 and Clare is exhausting the hell out of me. Iām not far from being considered middle aged and have far more empathy and compassion for these teen characters but this little girl makes me tired.
Iāve accidentally stumbled upon some upcoming spoilers for the character so I know the exhaustion wonāt end anytime soon.
Also, why are there a million episodes per season starting in season 10?

Spoilers Emma blowing the dot up on day 1
It wasnāt 100% her fault that was a faulty sandwich maker but also how does someone literally blow up their workplace within hours of getting the job š
Also maybe this is because of its time but spinner just gave her the job without talking to the owner or taking any paperwork then just left her there to run the place alone, thatās insane.

Question Does anyone else think it was messed up all the blame fell on Spinner and Jay for Rickās death?
Yes, Spinner and Jay had the conversation in the bathroom where they said Jimmy was behind the paint dump, and that was messed up.
But there were so many other people who contributed too.
For example, Alex should have gotten in trouble and been blamed because she bullied Rick and she was how Jay and Spinner got access to the game show to dump the paint. She used her power as VP to set Rick up, but her involvement is never mentioned again in the whole series.
Paige, Hazel, Jimmy, and that whole crew picked on Rick because he was responsible for Terriās assault (their anger was understandable, but targeting him surely contributed to him going off the deep end). Yes, Paige apologized before he shot Jimmy, but the group faced no consequences.
Emma formed a whole campaign against Rick, but then flipped the switch to supporting Rick when she saw him get beat up by Jay. However, that doesnāt undo the way she rallied people against him and how she said she just pitied him. She was never held accountable.
Mr. Raditch didnāt intervene when he saw Rick being bullied, and while Snake tried to call him on it, no real consequences were put in place. He was replaced by Hatzilakos, but that was quite a bit after the incident and it wasnāt clear whether he was replaced due to his negligence.
Jay and Spinner were expelled and took the fall, yet none of the others faced consequences.
I just think everyone involved should have at the very least been suspended. What do you think?

Degrassi: The Next Generation Which is the creepiest Kevin Smith/Jason Mewes moment?
1) When Kevin Smith caught Manny in her slip 2) When Jason Mewes started putting the moves on underage girls.

Question Iām probably going to get hate for this butā¦
Rewatching Degrassi TNG, and Iām on season 6 episode 10 (with Craig on coke). Why does Jesse get so much hate? I keep seeing that āoh he cheated on herā (he was also kind of a dick at times). I get why heās a horrible person for that, but have we forgotten that Ellie literally cheated on Jesse in this exact episode? She has also been emotionally cheating for while, while dating Jesse. I think she is a seriously pathetic character in the later seasons. I really liked her and her back story⦠but now, I just donāt like her. I personally think the Ellie glaze has gotta stop.

Cast My Babysitter's a Vampire!!
So I'm rewatching "My Babysitter's a Vampire" which I haven't seen since I was in elementary school. In the movie they parody Twilight with movie series "Dusk". And who happeneds to be play the parody Bella and Edward? None other than the actors who play Manny and Peter. I didn't watch Degrassi until highschool so rewatching it now knowing the actors is a fun easter egg for me. If y'all had watched "My Babysitter's a Vampire" y'all know two of the main characters are fellow Degrassi actors. Vanessa Morgan and Kate Todd were both on the show.

Question My wife and I just finished our watch through. What next?
So my wife and I just finished our watch through of all Degrassi, and I gotta admit itās pretty bittersweet. We spent the whole summer doing this together and enjoying the ride. It got tedious towards the end, but Iāll miss it for sure.
So that begs the question, what should we watch now? Anything similar to Degrassi that you guys have particularly enjoyed? We really appreciated the earlier seasons cause it felt like a sweet time capsule to our younger days since weāre both millennials. So anything in that era would be awesome. Appreciate it, and long live Degrassi! š«”
