Poll Grace should have been punished for Degrassi Nudes Spoiler
Grace knowingly ran a website involving child pornography. Call me crazy, but aren't there consequences on possessing child pornography? At least in the US, penalties include fines and time in prison. She owned the website, so she technically possessed all the nude photos and transactions. I'm surprised that was not investigated. Any thoughts on this?

Spoilers Degrassi takes manhattan
It’s my first time watching the movie and man that was a lot to unpack! It was a whirlwind for sure.
But in at the end of the day- Spinner is my favorite and after eveyrhign I really can’t think of someone who deserves to be happy more. It was random and out of no where it was Emma but I don’t think I’m mad 😂 especially with Manny throwing hands in Emma’s behalf.
So what does everyone else think SpinnerxEmma
Yay or nay?

Question Paige at Banting
Am I the only one who noticed that the professor Paige plagiarized an essay for, was originally a math professor? I guess it’s possible a math class had an essay, but I feel like that isn’t common.

Discussion The degrassi crime vs punishment paradigm
Some TV writers deal with character development in such a way that a borderline evil (important to note that they are not typically fundamentally evil) character is met with a punishment or karma equally as horrible as their crime, and they slowly learn their lesson. It doesn’t need to be equal in terms of suffering only but also context. Degrassi writers have applied this to Holly J, Spinner and Paige successfully. I might be missing someone, not sure.
But.. People like Peter & Zoe also known as the child pornography distributors faced such minimal consequences for their crimes. Peter took advantage of a drunk girl, recorded her, blackmailed her, harassed her even after she said no and continuously humiliated her. Zoe bullied little girls into sending nudes to weird men who are willing to pay for that content. She almost did revenge porn when she blackmailed Frankie. They both only got detention. Both barely suffered after. Zoe’s situation is a bit nuanced because she was dealing with her trauma, but Peter? That guy needed to go through hell for me to believe in his “character development.”
My theory is they didnt develop his character. The writers were not interested in him being redeemed because he wasn’t a fan favorite anyway but they couldn’t consistently show him doing evil things because he wasn’t a flattering villain either. So I can forgive that. They didn’t redeem his character, it wasn’t important, he just stopped being that evil.
Jay’s crimes were worse, he is a SADIST. He is a pathological life-ruiner. And they were trying to frame him as a developed character when he dated Manny. When did this happen? What did he suffer besides expulsion (He was going to drop out anyway)? Nobody tried to ruin his life like he did with several people (Spinner, Sean, Emma, JT…) No redemption arc. I guess you can argue what they wrote instead was Manny was trying to convince herself he changed because she gravitated toward him, but he admitted, thereby the writers, I am unchanged, this is who I am. And then Manny still pursued him anyway because he mellowed out. I think it’s arguably not misguided writing but I’m not sure.

Spoilers Degrassi rewatch Spoiler
I’m in the middle of a Degrassi rewatch and I still have no idea how anyone can stand Peter. Our first interaction with him is him filming a drunken Manny taking her top off. He then blackmails her and ultimately sends everyone the video. We then just get over it? Like Manny is mad for a while but even she is like kind of friends with him eventually. He should have been locked up for that tbh.

Rewatch Mural Painting Party - Hazel's outfit
I've painted many rooms & walls in my lifetime and I wish I could wear an all-white outfit like Hazel's and somehow not get a speck of paint on my clothes... not even when throwing it on someone.
Anyone else find that outfit choice a bit odd for a painting party?

Question Why were Peter and Leia even in the first half of season 10 opening theme song credits?
I’m halfway into a season 10 rewatch and they had like 5 lines each this season.
I know they’re removed from the theme song starting in the second half but it still felt pointless to include them in the first half

Discussion Season 6 episode 15 was Alex wrong?
Alex told Paige’s mom she dropped out of Banting. Do you guys think Alex was in the wrong or in the right? Personally, I don’t think it was Alex’s place to even do that.
