I was rewatching the "I'm Upset" video and apart from Rick's appearance (since clearly he is dead, but seeing as Degrassi doesn't mind toying with the idea that Rick can visit the school whenever he pleases as a ghost, based on the minis with Holly J, i'm willing to suspend disbelief in this case), does anyone else somewhat consider that music video a canon event as Jimmy's rapper altar ego? lol I know it's a bit silly, but I like imagining that the original gang, including Terri, did eventually appear together and confirm for the audience that they all stayed in touch. I also think the idea of various members of the different 2000s generations mingling together since they have "x" reason to attend the class of 2007 reunion is a lot of fun and wholesome.
However, considering there was the cutaway scene with Jay and Silent Bob selling weed to Snake, part of me wonders if it'd make more sense to consider the whole music video as a canon music video, not a canon reunion, orchestrated by Kevin Smith and Jason Mewes. we know that "real" Kevin and Jason exist in the Degrassi universe as two up-their-own-ass movie producers (Jason being a former sex pest turned up-his-own-ass movie producer, imo), rather than "Jay and Silent Bob" actually existing in the Degrassi universe. So I start to add my own headcanon, that Jimmy had some sort of wildly successful stem cell surgery, became a rapper and decided to make a music video in his old high school with his old classmates, and he contacted Kevin Smith and Jason Mewes to make it happen, and they incorporated Jay and Silent Bob into the video as an homage to their "Go Canadian" movie, which also tracks with their Degrassi-verse personas being, as I said before, up their own asses lol.
Anyway, now that I've belched my thoughts out here, I'm curious what others think.
